About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

  • Superb

by Group Portraiture on 8/20/24Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

They were marvelous, one of my current favorite bands: saw them at Thompsons point in 2022 and they are even better now, great addition with the horn section!! Do not let a chance to see these folks play some music for you slip away.

  • LSD was AWESOME! LSD= Lake Street Dive!!!

by Mac on 8/20/24Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

First time at Thompson Point. Venue was excellent. Three "tiers"of seating, all dependent on when you get to the show, NOT on your ticket price. Standing room (or dancing room) in front of the stage, chairs and blankets behind that, and standing after that. Food trucks with GOOD FOOD, Beer selection was adequate (for us anyway), processing was fine (of course we were first in our row to get in). The only hiccup was the bar code reader could not read my phone tickets and I had to get to the box office and get printed ones. Not a huge deal, but a minor PITA (pain in the...) The opening act, Cellise, wasn't our cup of tea... but that's a personal preference. Many there seemed to like them very much. As musicians, they were good, just not into their music. Lake Street Dive was, however, simply amazing. We've been "short term fans"as we were only introduced to LSD a couple of years ago, and they've been around for over 20. The song list was an eclectic mix of old and new, showcasing their latest album. Encore was three songs long, and the LAST song of the night was "Good Kisser", one of their signature songs that meet with the crowd roaring approval. The band was tight, and worked off each other in ways only a band of 20 years could. All in all, a most excellent experience. We'd do it again inna heartbeat!

Everything was great. Can’t wait to come back. Lake Street Dive was great.

  • Amazing

by JL on 8/20/24Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Such a great band. Great venue. Only took 20 minutes from concert end to being on the highway. Loved it!

  • It was so incredible. They rock the venue

by DA on 8/7/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Parking was not great. Too expensive if you came late. The venue was great. Seated sections were excellent. No complaints

  • Concert was fantastic, parking lot poorly managed

by Lake Street Dive Fan on 8/7/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Adore Lake Street Dive! They didn't disappoint, and this was a fantastic venue. My first time a Chateau St. Michelle and will be back. We were dismayed to see that our car was Boxed In. We paid to park at the venue, were directed to a specific spot, and missed a few songs to get to our car early as one of us had an early flight out the next morning. Our car was completely boxed in. Luckily one car had left before us - behind and to the right of us and, by virtue of a professional driver, a 400,000 point turn, and 3 people outside the car directing were able to squeegee our way out. We could have stayed for a couple more songs in the time it took us to get the car out. Friends who are long time attendees at venue said that this was the first time the parking was done in a manner that boxed people into their spots. A disappointing end to an otherwise fabulous night.

  • Bad "VIP"Experience

by Skip on 8/7/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 1 out of 5

I bought VIP seats in the 4th row to watch and listen to Rachel Price and the rest of this excellent band dance and sing and play. Instead I had to look at the backs of four drunk women in the 3rd row who stood up nearly the entire show for no reason (given they had an unobstructed view). Well there is a reason. They had been way over served wine at the venue (with one of them falling down drunk and making repeated trips to the restroom, I believe to vomit). They were obnoxious and apparently oblivious to the fact that all of the rest of us in the section had paid for VIP seats as they had. They'd occasionally look over their shoulders and notice that no one else was standing but they did not care. The world can do without people like these. The music was great but I did not see the show. I wish I had stayed home and watched LSD videos on YouTube instead. Total waste of time and money.

  • Concert was great, BUT parking was not

by Lori D on 8/7/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 1 out of 5

We paid $40 for onsite parking and we could not leave the parking lot because the parking attendant had us park behind another vehicle and then had someone park behind us-no way to get out until one of those cars left. WE needed to leave before the concert was over and could not. It was unacceptable and we have never been through something like this.

  • Amazing!

by CJ on 8/7/24Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - WoodinvilleRating: 5 out of 5

After getting shut out with over priced tickets at Red Rocks we flew to Seattle and enjoyed a long weekend to see Lake Street Dive. Best decision we ever made! The Chateau Ste Michelle venue is the smallest outdoor venue I've ever been to with delicious food, wine and gorgeous grounds! Lake Street Dive gave us an incredible performance in a beautiful and intimate setting. Our tickets, including flights, were cheaper than Red Rocks tickets! I would choose this venue again any day! Perfect weekend to see an amazing band!

    by Dayna&John W on 8/4/24Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Best live show I have ever seen. The lights, ambiance and musical talent was exceptional. Lake Street Dive is an amazing group and I hope they come back to Vancouver in the future!!

  • LSD was terrific!

by livemusicisbest. on 8/4/24Orpheum Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing Lake Street Dive and they did not disappoint. They were great. A very talented band each and every one of them. The acoustics in the Orpheum are good and the sound techs did a great job mixing. A wonderfully spent night. Side note: Was a bit surprised about the plugging of the sponsors. I didn't realize bands now need sponsors to go on the road.

  • Even the old folks enjoyyhis group!

Excellent concert—-amazing talent in this group! also enjoyed the local opening act from Oakland—celisse!

  • Great Musicians…

by Momo on 7/31/24Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

The opening performer, Celisse, was amazing! Great musician and she seemed to genuinely enjoy entertaining us. I will keep my feelers out for her recordings and live performances. Lake Street are excellent musicians with spot on vocals. Although I enjoyed them and respect their awesome talent, I felt like some extra showmanship was necessary to let their personalities shine. Highlights were when Celisse joined Rachel Price and the band on Rich Girl, and Akie’s rendition of Still the One.

  • Great show!!!

by Lil’ Mac on 7/31/24Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - BerkeleyRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive was an excellent show! We enjoyed every song and the stage set, lights, etc. The sound/volume was good and there was great energy from the performers and the crowd. This is a talented group of vocalists, song writers, bass, keys, and percussion. The lead singer is awesome and a fabulous trio of horns (trombone, trumpet, sax) joined them and brought the music to another level! Bravo!

  • Peak Experience
