About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

  • a few words?

They sold out the Garden. They lit it up beyond any expectation. Rachael is Joplin, Ross, Streisand, Ronstadt, Adele....you name it/them; all rolled into one. The shame is they only get to play the Garden for the first time....Once. I stole that one from Rachael. One criticism: the standing room was way too deep! People on the floor got gipped!

  • Lake Street Dive is the best

by KW on 9/17/24Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive’s music is great. Even better when you see them live. It’s a journey - a fun, emotional story jam packed with laughs and feels. Nothing like it. They took Madison Square Garden and made it feel like an intimate, private show. Simply magical. And I can’t possibly leave out the audience itself - every single person I saw was respectful and happy to be seeing LSD. Some had tshirts from yesteryears and some had homemade shirts listing all the concerts they attended. I have been a fan since Berkeley 2011 and have made new friends at each and every concert. It’s a love fest. Even the ushers were hooked. (The venue itself was nice, but chilly- they just cover the ice! The pre-show VIP experience with LSD was nice, but the venue did not treat us well between meeting the band and the actual concert. We were kept in a room with no chairs. It was a lot of money to end up sitting on the floor. “Wait! Did I just sit in spilled beer? Is the gum on the seat of my pants?”)

  • Feels Like The First Time

by MarkOn10th on 9/17/24Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I've followed this group from tiny clubs, to the bigger clubs, to the Beacon Theater to Radio City Music Hall, and last Saturday, To Madison Sq. Garden! The World's Most Famous Arena! I loved the show! Band took time out to express their gratitude to their families, their crew and management team. And their love for us! The sound was excellent! Line up was augmented with a percussionist who was amazing and also with a three piece horn section (Huntertones) that really punched up fan favorite songs like Call Off Your Dogs, Hypotheticals, and Seventeen. The Garden is the "Top of the Heap"and if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere! Congrats to these wonderful musicians.

  • Super Fun

by theshady_artist on 9/17/24Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This show was amazing, Infinity Song and Lake Street Dive were amazing, audio was so good, both bands were punctual and it made for an overall better experience! Will definitely attend future concerts. This was my first time experiencing lake street dive and I'm glad I waited to hear their music live as my first experience with them. The fans of both bands were so good, people were having fun and grooving.

Rachel Price and the band were unstoppable. So impressed and have been a fan for years. Can’t wait for next one!

  • Everything I hoped for!! Great band worthy of playing MSG!

by surlechapeau on 9/17/24Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Akie sang a song solo, like I hoped for, sounding like Al Green reincarnated!! Rachael was Awesome!!! All the musicians were fabulous. Loved all the instrument solos, especially the solos of Jon Lampley and Akie Bermiss. A perfect show, including the sound mixing and light show!!

  • Best live concert!

  • Lake Street Dive MSG Sep 14, 2024 show

by Tina on 9/17/24Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Rachael Price and her Lake Street Dive band are fire! What a powerful voice Rachael has, and her 7 month pregnancy didn't hamper her fluid dance moves one bit! Amazing, amazing show!

  • Great show but expected more

by Thompson on 9/17/24Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

A great show and really impressed by opening band. One disappointment was that this was their first time headlining MSG in New York City and they basically played the same show they have been playing on tour with no special guests, no special songs. This is New York City and iconic MSG so it didn't warrant anything out of the ordinary? Missed a tremendous opportunity to leave an amazing impression. I guess we shouldn't expect them to get excited over it.

  • Great show, great price

by ECPnyc on 9/17/24Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

For once a great show at MSG for less than extortionary prices. And perhaps the best sound I’ve heard in there. Perfectly amplified but not deafening and really well balanced for the band. Often big acts sound washed out and tinny in there but this was an exception.

  • LSD Rocked

by Pete on 9/16/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, great venue, very courteous staff and security. I would recommend. Merriwether Post Pavillion to anyone. Lake Street Dive killed it. I'd go again easily.

  • Celebration of musical brilliance and collective joy

by Steph on 9/16/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was nothing short of spectacular with energy and positivity from start to finish. The performance was a refreshing reminder of the joy that live music can bring, and the audience left with spirits uplifted and smiles all around. The brass band and bongos were a standout addition, their powerful and vibrant sound adding an exhilarating dimension to the performance. Merriweather was full of energy!

  • Very much enjoyed the concert venue but not the parking..

by Hephzibah on 9/16/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

Had lawn seats, area was not too crowded and there were good views of the big screens. Merch vendors were very friendly. Found parking very confusing - was my first time there, signage was lacking and when I finally found someone directing traffic to ask, he was not that friendly or helpful. Once I found my way into the appropriate parking garage, the walk to the venue was short, and getting out after the concert was easier than several other venues I have attended. A little more info when I "bought"the required parking "ticket"would have saved a lot of frustration.

  • Truly Spectacular!

by Meg on 9/16/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

This is my second time seeing Lake Street Dive, the first was before the pandemic. I am absolutely floored with how much their popularity and style has grown since then. They were spectacular before and they absolutely blew my mind with this tour! I am so thankful I got to see them at such a wonderful outdoor venue too, it really made the experience that much more special. 10/10 would recommend
