About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

We really enjoyed seeing Lake Street Dive in person, how they make the experience so memorable and lasting, each time we hear their music we are taken back to that night. The Salt Shed was an amazing venue and Three Top Roof with views of the city priceless.

  • Add dates next year!!

by Jose on 9/27/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I've been listening and missed out on red Rocks. I wish they would schedule Denver next year. Maybe Fiddlers amp to get a much bigger audience.

  • Not what I expected

    by terraceview8021 on 9/27/24Breese Stevens Field - MadisonRating: 2 out of 5

Was so looking forward to this show, but ended up disappointed. Vocals were off pitch, little interaction with crowd, did the bare minimum. Band just didn't seem into it. Maybe just an off night...

  • They are so great live!

by Bdub on 9/27/24Breese Stevens Field - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

Such great musicians on stage! I loved the set list, and the “acoustic” set was amazing. They sound better live than on recordings which is always great to hear. Looked like they were enjoying being on stage. Loved them! Also perfect weather in a perfect outdoor venue.

  • An Awesome Experience

by Bart on 9/27/24Breese Stevens Field - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive has come a long way since the first time I saw them some years ago (pre-Covid). They're a super tight band and the vocals and musicianship are terrific! And it was a perfect night at Breese Stevens Field which is a fine place for an outdoor show with a medium size crowd. If you get the chance to see LSD, don't miss them! And if your favorite band comes to Breese, you'll have a great time!

  • Good music, great venue

We had never even heard a song by Lake Street Dive but decided to go because it was our friends favorite band. What a blast! Everyone in the band is so talented, and the singer has a mesmerizing voice. Production was also fun to watch!

  • So great live!

  • Lake Street Dive in Grand Rapids

by Greg on 9/26/24GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

We arrived at the venue a little early and had to wait in line for a bit. It was not a problem. The entry was very well managed. The opening act was great. I will be learning more about her, including her name. Lake Street Dive were absolutely fantastic! I can’t imagine a better performance! They had me at every turn! I especially enjoyed our seats on the lower mezzanine which had a great view of the stage. And they were great for watching the crowd on the floor, too!
