About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

  • Unforgettable Concert

by Ash on 12/17/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Genuinely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Everyone in the band is so talented and the energy was through the roof. They had a killer setlist, you couldn’t stop jamming whole time. Their opener Theo Katzman was incredible too, so glad I got to see them together. Thank you Lake Street Dive!!!!!!!!

  • MGM music hall at Fenway

by Lynee on 12/17/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert at MGM Music Hall at Fenway with Lake Street Dive and Trousdale was fantastic! The accoustics and seating is great. My only complaint is that it was a cold night and we had to stand outside the music hall in line to have our ID checked.

  • Super Venue

by Jules on 12/16/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Such a great night with Lake Street Dive. We had a perfect view from the floor. Staff was friendly and there really didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. Much more intimate concert space. I would go again and you can reserve a parking spot when you buy tickets.

  • Not great sound.

by Amy on 12/16/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

It was clear Rachael Price could sing amazingly, but something was going on with the sound. It was very tinny sounding… as if we were listening to music in a steel drum. I’ve been to MGM Fenway for two other shows and the sound was impeccable, so I know it’s not the venue. They had a horn section with them, which I’m not sure if they normally have, so perhaps that affected the sound. Usually the first song could be off…so we kept waiting for it to get better but it never did. The acoustic songs were slightly better but still not crisp. It was a real shame because Rachael has a phenomenal voice, but it always sounded a bit muffled. My friends saw them at roadrunner and said it was much better… so again, not sure if it was the sound people, the horns or just a bad night. But it was pretty disappointing.

  • Best ever

The band is/was phenomenal, of course. MGM is an incredible venue.

Amazing show! Such great performers. Absolutely amazing energy throughout the entire show. MGM is an excellent venue not a bad seat in the house.

  • Great band, music pumped TOO LOUD!

by Ed on 10/9/24Merriweather Post Pavilion - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

I've been wanting to see Lake Street Dive for years and when I saw they were coming to Merriweather I jumped. It was actually easy to park and get into the venue and get seated. There were lots of folks to help. I wanted to show off LSD to my spouse. The cover band was great - need to look them up. LSD started and played a lot of great new stuff and some oldies. The vibe was great. I and others were singing along. I did love it. We were seated in 201 S if this helps - decent seats. The convert volume was so loud that my spouse had to cover her ears. It was difficult to follow at times and the pitch seemed high relative to recordings. LSD is musically sophisticated and the volume clouded their work. I've seen videos of this event and I was like "Is this even the same event?"How did they get such good sound? Getting ear plugs next time. Maybe this is a thing with concerts now.

  • Always a good time!

Lake Street Dive is one of my favorite bands to see live. Always a good show and they never disappoint with the set list.

Thankfully the weather was good. First time at a concert with general admission. Great group but wasn’t impressed with venue.

  • Terrible seating options

by Disappointed on 10/9/24Firefly Distillery - North CharlestonRating: 3 out of 5

Great band and sound. Terrible seating options. We could not bring chairs and there were no seating options. Will not do this venue again, Very disappointed.

It was enjoyable and I love lake street dive when they are at outside venues

  • Really good!

by Jess on 10/8/24Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time at Skyla Ampitheater. Such a great little space! We sat on the lawn but there's probably not a bad seat in the house. The plaza can seem crowded, but it's worth it for the convenience of food and drinks being steps away and still a part of the action. I experienced great customer service and no problems. My sisters said the bathrooms seemed clean and orderly. Signs for parking could be a little bit clear and more visible.

  • They're an okay band, but don't travel with horns anymore.

by No horns!!!! on 10/8/24Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

No horns and tons of covers. Not worth the full price of a ticket

  • A Bit of Normal...

by MNOWENS on 10/8/24Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

After a couple of weeks in Greenville and WNC, it was nice to see a favorite band perform. You cannot help but feel better when Rachael Price is at her best. This smallish venue is great for LSD as they connect with their fans. The sound for Tiny Habits, especially the voices, was off, which did not allow us to really enjoy their talent. Good night overall.

  • Great Show!

by Wanna on 10/8/24Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the intimacy of the show. Clean facility, easy to navigate and great vibes!

  • DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!

by Buffmeister on 10/8/24Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street dive is FUN. But more than that these are highly talented very well educated musicians that have spun their own brand of funky jazz rocky pop music. Don't miss them if they are anyplace near you!

  • Lake Street Dive

by Dan from Trent Woods on 10/7/24Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Parking was great right across from gate. Food was expensive but good. Opening act Tiny Habits was impressive including Leaving on a Jet Plane with Rachael Price. Lake Street Dive put on a good show including covers of The Band, Shania Twain and of course Hall and Oates. At 74 I was probably one of the oldest in attendance. The audience stood for most of LKD but we came to listen not see. Rachael certainly has the moves to go along with her voice.
