About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

  • Lake Street Dive bringing it

by BinksyCat on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive brought their funk out for Portland. Despite misting cold on the water, the group didn't hold back at all. Out of this world vocals, supreme stand-up bass slapping, filthy fills and nasty licks on the guitar all forged a massive funking, psychedelic, soulful, disco, dancing delirium. It was a nice time.

  • Lake Street Dive was ASTOUNDING

by RobbitRavi on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely five stars, more if that is possible. It was rainy and cold and the entire crowd was huddled by the stage, but Price and the rest of Lake Street Dive came out with the same energy and excitement as the crowd even with the cold weather and knocked the show out of the park. It was easily the greatest concert I've ever been to, and everyone sounded incredible and their personalities on stage were exactly what I was hoping this band would be like. Rachael Price blew my mind in every aspect of her performance as well as the minds of my friends that accompanied me. 10/10 would definitely do again.

  • Lake Street Dive Consistently Crushes It

by gojacksonhole on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive puts on a high energy, fun, and danceable show every time I see them. They're tight, they have some of the best stage presence in the business, and they got the Portland crowd rocking out despite the inclement weather. I had a blast, my friends had a blast, and I will definitely see them again whenever their back in the area.

  • At thier best, in the worst of conditions.....

by PortlandMEFan on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 3rd time seeing LSD and I am happy to say, I have become a true fan. Not only is their music fantastic, but they seem to spread a very strange aurora of happiness to everyone to hears them. Never have I been to a show with more happiness in every direction. One would think everyone's wrist bands were laced with happy drugs, but the reality is that their music, energy and demeanor is just a pleasure to watch. This show was at the new Thompsons Point venue on Memorial Day weekend which one would think the weather would be decent considering the prior day it was in the 80's.. However, living in Maine for 14 years, we've learned to not count on the weather for pretty much anything. It was a balmy 49 degrees this evening and drizzling the entire night. Thompsons Point also brought the best of the wind where there were a couple of moments in the evening, if you closed your eyes you felt you were out at sea with the band. You could see Mike Olson wearing fingerless gloves and how he and Bridget managed to play their string instruments is amazing, I also assume Mike Calabrese feet were a bit chilly, yet he continued to pound the drums with a smile. One would think an ordinary band might try to rush the show or cope a complaint or two, however, even with these conditions, Rachael and her crew didn't miss a beat and spread total happiness to everyone's soul making it all worth the effort. In fact, I'd say a that night will be life long memory for many people. Touché' LSD, you Rock! Catch them while you can.

  • Lake Street Dive -- Best Concert this Year

by Prev on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

They were awesome..... The venue was great. I looked to see where they are playing in the Boston area.

  • What rain…??!!

    by JAK1964 on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

THANK YOU, Lake Street Dive for an unforgettable show!

  • Loved them - one of the best concerts ever seen

by Nejclrk on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

We have seen Lake Street Dive twice in the past 3 months and plan to see them every time they come our way! W-O-W, what a sound and they are so much fun to watch perform. Their music is as good live which is not always the case and we've seen some pretty 'big performers' who disappointed. But not this group. Go see them, especially if they come back to Thompsons Point in Maine. The venue was terrific.

  • Great sound,

by CSwang on 6/1/16Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

It ended up being a cold and rainy night at this outdoor event, but it ended up being a blast! Vocals were clear and well balanced with the instrumentation and the band was up-beat and lively. There were two sections in front of the stage to watch the concert; up front wast for standing space and the back was for lawn seating. My only issue with the event is that they did not turn away some of the higher chairs even though it said that they would not be allowed in the program information. The band was excellent in live performance and rolled between songs quickly to fit in as many as possible. They were very high energy and kept everyone dancing in the rain. I would highly recommend this event for all ages.

  • Lake Street Dive just as great the THIRD time!

by andgedem on 4/10/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I'm lucky to say this was the third time I've seen Lake Street Dive, but my first time experiencing them in an indoor venue. I actually think they toned down their normal energy, which I could attribute to this particular crowd being a little more docile than ones I was with in the past, as well as it being a night show. Nevertheless, they're still so much fun to watch and manage to keep it intimate to much larger settings. It's the best seeing a group that clearly enjoys playing together. Rachael Price consistently leaves me in awe. I mean – how can you EVEN with a voice like that?! Bridget SHREDS on upright bass, although I wish she had more time to shine during this set. I could sing the praises of each member but to keep it brief, all pieces are needed to make a sound this tight.

  • Lake Street Dive and the Suffers were AMAZING!!

by Magwa on 4/4/16State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive is incredibly talented. This was my third time seeing them and the second time at the State Theatre in Maine. The venue is perfect. .Plenty of room to stand and dance ( although more crowded than last year) they are growing in popularity, as they should be. The balcony seats are great, as you can look right down on them and still can see great. The new album is a fun mixture, and I love how the rest of the band is heard more. The Suffers who opened for them were excellent. I am glad LSD chose them. We bought their album and they all signed it. They are another group to keep your eye on.

  • Great Bands! Great Venue!

by LoganMG on 3/30/16State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Hot music on a cool night in Portland. The Suffers from Houston opened with a big band R&B vibe with hints of Latin and Reggae. Lake Street Dive had their usual bluesy spin on pop R&B. Clean and smooth. Closed with Queens' Bohemian Rhapsody. What a night!

  • Smokin'!

by SparkyMac on 3/30/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Great band, wonderful venue, fantastic opening act. I was hoping LSD would not disappoint live and they exceeded my expectations. Killer talent all around, vocals and harmonies, wow! Awesome show.

  • Lake Street Dive is AMAZING

    by 64caddy on 3/30/16State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen this band before and absolutely love them. I will see them every time they come and definitely recommend them to everyone I talk to about music.

  • Incredible!

    by DK333 on 3/30/16State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

It is obvious that Rachel Price has an amazing voice and is extremely talented but all 4 of them are incredible at what they do. I can't wait for them to come back to Portland, ME!

  • by Anonymous on 3/30/16State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Such incredible energy! State is the place to be for a sold out show and there is no better place than the dance floor. Space to rock out and see the stage. Ending with Bohemian Rhapsody was unbelievable. The entire crowd was reeling in the awesome. I can't wait for LSD at Thompson's Point in May!

  • Fantastic!!! Musically engaging!

by Kabilyo on 3/29/16State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

We live in Rhode Island and Portland ME s about 3 hours away. We decided to make a weekend of it and man, was it worth it! Lake Street Dive was everything we hoped they would be. They are all obviously very accomplished musicians, and Rachel's' voice can move you to tears! Not to mention she's adorable and sexy as hell! The opening act, The Suffers from Houston TX were a REALLY great surprise! We'll definitely be looking for them to make future appearances!

  • Don't skip the opener

by MePortlander on 3/29/16State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

I caught Lake Street Dive last summer at an outdoor show in my hometown of Portland, Me. They were opening for Grace Potter but in all honesty, LSD left me more impressed that night. Grace was amazing, but there was something a little more exciting about LSD. I was thrilled to hear they were headlining their own show at the State Theatre in Portland. The State has become my favorite place to see a live show so I was not going to miss this. I was also not going to miss the opener out of respect to my last experience with LSD. I am so glad that I did not. First, LSD was fantastic. Not flawless, but worth every penny. They were enjoyable, interactive, sound was great. No complaints. The Suffers absolutely blew my mind. I had never heard of them, and didn't even know their name as they became my latest obsession. They commanded the show better than any opening act I have ever seen, and better than most headliners. Lead singer (yes I just googled her name) Kam Franklin somehow channeled both Aretha Franklin and Lauren Hill (Fugee's and Miseducation Lauren Hill, not the more recent incarnation) with her huge voice and stage swagger. The 9 other members of the band played their asses off and it is a good thing they did because Kam was simply bringing it. Her red sequence dress was the visual offset to an absolutely amazing auditory experience. I will never miss an opening act again. I will make sacrifices to see the Suffers again. I bought their CD, which was the first CD I purchased in years. I have listened to this CD non-stop since. They were also humble. This is something too many good bands were, but are no longer. From simply thanking the audience to pitching in with the LSD set, they were present far after their last song ended. They were also accessible to their fans. I met each member and even got to give Kam a squeeze. Go see The Suffers before they get too big. You will not be disappointed.

  • Lake Street Dive is a must see!

by LeeJJ on 3/28/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive puts on the best concert. Not only great music but so amazing the energy they bring to a live show. And their rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody is a show stopper!

  • Lake Street Dive = Must See Live Performers

by greenie54 on 3/28/16House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Great Show! Venues where they are performing continue to grow in size and Lake Street's performances continue to grow with them. Bigger venue but same intimate feel to the show. Four talented musicians who are not afraid to showcase their diverse abilities/talents.

  • Amazing

    by Mikebar1 on 3/28/16Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

They totally rocked out the Beacon theater! Almost 2 hours of great music! It was a homecoming of sorts for Rachel and she didn't disappoint and I've never heard Brigitte better. This was my third time seeing them and they keep getting better. I'm going to see them in Ireland next month, Athens, Ga in June and Radio City in October so I guess you could say I'm a big fan!
