About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

  • This band is amazing!

by BetsyPants on 10/11/16Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive is one of the best, underrated bands out there right now, and Rachael Price is one of the greatest female vocalists out there! We were out of our seats for the entire show shaking our booties and loving every moment! I was so proud to see these guys playing the Wang - and they were unbelievably excited about being there!

  • LSDive brings Boston to it's feet!!

by Stevoid on 10/10/16Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Great group of talented musicians brought the full house to it's feet at the Citi-Wang Theater in Boston. These four talented performers nailed every note on every song and the voice of lead singer Rachel is mesmerizing. The night was filled with fun and energy as the group played it's mix of rock/soul/folk/jazz mix of tunes. Playlist included some new songs along with old and a couple of great covers. Since they started out in Boston it was an awesome homecoming and the energy was mutual along with being a great venue for a concert. If you ever see them coming to a venue near you, do not hesitate and make sure you experience them. Well worth it!!

Lake street dive was amazing! They played new songs, old songs, and covers we had never heard before. Highly recommend seeing them!

  • Great energy, memorable performance!

The 4 members are all fabulous musicians - I love Rachel Price's voice, but I really enjoyed each performer's individual showcase of their talent.

  • Lake Street Dive was amazing!

by Barce on 10/10/16Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Hearing about Lake Street Dive and catching a song or two is like meeting a lover for the first time. Initially your attracted by something, in LSD's case, its Rachel Price. Her voice is just amazing. She is also knock down beautiful! But after listening more and seeing them perform you realize just how talented this group is. The 4 of them are world class musicians and performed as such Oct 7. The only thing that is more amazing than their talent, is why they still exist in some form of anonymity? Rachel's voice is no less than someone like Adele, certainly better than Katy Perry or other pop divas of our time, and is so much more trained and talented. Go see them, you will become a believer too!

  • wow, what a great night !!!!!

Lake Street Dive are well on their way to superstardom!!!

  • Lake Street Dive rocked the Side Pony!

by Sarapens on 10/10/16Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

It was so awesome to see Lake Street Dive. They played some old favorites and brought me back to their days at the lizard lounge. It was incredible how wondeful their sound worked in such a sizable auditorium. It felt like they were right there. I'd definitely see them again!

  • Lake Street Dive at the Chicago Theater 9/23/16

by DrMusicChicago on 9/27/16The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Saw LSD (nice initials) at the Chicago Theater. I was already a fan from watching their YouTube videos. They were fantastic. Tight, tuneful, professional, great musicians, and, boy can that girl sing! Rachel Price is the real thing. A great voice, wide range, good stage presence and entertaining. But rest of the group is every bit as good. Wonderful vocal harmonies round out a sparse but at times strangely full instrumental lineup. The production was surprisingly high end with a major light show and interesting background. Yet, it was distracting, especially the roving spotlights directly in the audience's eyes. They probably would do better with half of that and more of just them. My only regret is that they didn't do their wonderful cover of Hall and Oates' Rich Girl. Unfortunately, the warmup band with frontman Anderson East was very poor. A big R&B band with heavy organ and horns with mostly undistinguished songs and a singer who seemed to be trying to channel Joe Cocker. The volume was way too high and the balance was awful. Strange because the balance for LSD was perfect. There were two standout numbers toward the end - a ballad and a cover of Rod Stewart's Stay With Me. Bottom line - see Lake Street Dive at every opportunity.

  • Enjoyable show

by seefer on 9/26/16The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Great music live. Fun evening, love the barefooted drummer Calbrese. Would be 5 stars but they played just over an hour and a half. Too short!

  • Excitement of an act on the rise!

    by Magbug22 on 9/26/16The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Lake St. had the excitement and fun of a group just reveling in their growing fan base. The show had a ton of energy and amazing light effects! The music was a great mix of older originals, new songs and some really fun covers.

  • Huge Sound in a small, tight band

    by Rutledd1 on 9/26/16Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tickets to this show just off the strength of their two recent singles. I went back and listened to their albums, and was very impressed. But neither of those things prepared me for their live show. I was absolutely floored by their stage presence and BIG sound. Lake Street Dive really knows how to put on a show, and the Ryman was the perfect venue for them. So, so glad I grabbed those tickets.

  • Great Show

    by Marc52 on 9/26/16The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Besides sounding great LSD also put on a very entertaining show. Anderson East for their opening act was a great choice. I would definitely see both bands again.

This is a must-see show. Best show I've ever seen, at the Ryman or elsewhere.

I took my niece, who is a HUGE fan of the CDs, and music and dance in general. She was up and singing and dancing at her seat, and loved the costumes. So much fun!

  • Words fail me

by ChrisTuckerNM on 9/18/16Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Words fail me when attempting to convey just him masterful this group is. From Rachael's perfect pitch and strong vocal energy, to the insane musical talent that each of the members have. No one better.

  • Amazing

One of the best concerts I've ever attended. Lake Street Dive was incredible.

  • Lake Street Dive Rocked the Ryman

    by ctburns72 on 9/18/16Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was awesome and for Rachel to be home and on the stage at the Ryman was a well deserved and long time coming for her and the band. Really enjoyed hearing the new material and the old stuff mixed in also. The tribune to Primce was amazing...but the closing number of Bohemian Rhapsody was very well preformed and this was a show that was not to be missed! If you get a chance to catch Lake Street Dive live - do it- you will not be disappointed.

  • Lake Street Dive put on a great show!

I am so glad I went to this show!!!! Such an upbeat band.

  • Lake Street Dive what a night!

    by Crab49 on 9/18/16Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish every song every note right where it belongs. Amazing how much music can come from a 4 piece group. Guitarist and trumpet beautiful, drummer sick sticks, lead singer powerful from first to last song, and that sexy beautiful girl playing bass. Rockin' it with the pony tail. This group is fantastic!
