Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.
The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

Our first time seeing Lake Street Dive live. Unbelievable show and the energy was stupendous. Can’t wait to see them again.
Kind Country was an AMAZING opening band and I really enjoyed hearing them. I was commenting that they were very reminiscent of Trampled by Turtles, who apparently one of the members helped produce their record. Bruce Hornsby was surprisingly disappointing, though. It appears he's following his passion with music, but that vacillated between classical and jazz. The songs were waaay too long and I started to get really sleepy! Kind of brought down the vibe. But Lake Street Dive redeemed the evening with their super upbeat sound, great vocals and ridiculously awesome harmonizing. Overall, a great evening!
Accoustics horrible, BH didn't have enough amplification, video screens unutilized so could barely see either performances Glad I had balcony seats as floor seats were horrible non theatre style, folding chairs and ppl stood up in front of others and a few laughingly stood and danced in front of others for the back Street dive portion...her vocals were not crisp.. couldn't understand half of what she was singing. Never ever returning to Roy W. Simply a leg crushing seating for anyone over 5'8", terrible accoustics, terribly small video screens even if they were to use them and seat distance options make this a dump.
It was a wonderful venue for viewing and able to be seated. Acoustics were not the best so some of the acts’ quality was compromised.
Concert really fun but ticket ADD ON FEES OUT OF CONTROL!!
Rachael Price singing with Hornsby was amazing! Hope they record that song together soon!
Awesome performances from all the performers, but Lake Street Dive was the best for me.
Fantastic. Sound guy did great. Love this band....
This was my first time at Roy Wilkins, we sat in the balcony. It was a cool venue for the size, I prefer mite intimate shows. Only complaint is the the styles of music from Bruce Hornsby to Lake Street were so far apart. I would've liked to see an opener more in the realm of Lake Street.
Every performance was amazing. Roy Wilkins is a great venue with fantastic acoustics. I went to see Kind County and Bruce Hornsby but was blown away by Lake Street Dive. This was my first time hearing them. Definitely a fan now and can't wait to see them again.
I had balcony seets and had a really hard time hearing them band. Considering it was an AARP concert and I’m in my 30s I can’t imagine who could hear it. I thought Lake Street Dive was fantastic and would highly recommend them to anyone. I would like to see them again in a different venue.
If you're a fan of real, live music played by top notch musicians with a minimum of gimmicks and hoopla, Lake Street Dive is just the ticket. While Rachel Price fronts the group with her awesome vocal prowess, the rhythm section of Bridget Kearny and Michael Calabrese keep things groovy. Mike Olson rounds out the ensemble, applying tasty licks via guitar or trumpet. And oh, the harmonies! Tight clean backing vocals are a hallmark of this band, and only sweeten the magic that happens when these four hit the stage. Am I gushing? Goddamn right I am. Whether it's straight a straight ahead 4/4 Rock tune or one of their oddly time signatured songs, the hooks and the appeal are ever present. This is Real Live Music, folks. Do yourself a favor and catch their show the next time they come to town!
Awesome Show. Opening act was meh though. Highly recommend seeing Rachel and Lake Street Dive in a small venue like Newport
Talented musicians who connected with the audience.
This was my second time at a Lake Street concert. I was happy to have a seat in a perfect sized venue, as I had to stand at the last one. I love thier music and the incredible talent that they bring to their live performance! It is obvious to me that they love what they do! The light show was beautiful and enhanced the evening's experience
The band was better live than i expected. They were all incredible. It was as if the singer could just sing for hours and hours, her voice never waivered. A wonderful night of music- i'm so glad i got to see them perform. Don't miss them!
From the opening tune, “Bad Self Portraits” thru the encore, they were totally entertaining. Rachael Price is mesmerizing. Her incredible voice (perhaps the best out there) and her sultry movements on stage are fascinating. The group not only has great harmonies but a great vibe as well. The instruments used in some of their best stuff is simply a trumpet, stand-up bass, drums and keyboards. I find it difficult to describe their musical style because there is nothing else out there like it but I tell everyone who will listen that these guys are incredible. I would see Lake Street Dive again in a heartbeat. The whole show just made me feel good.
Lake Street was great. The opening act incredible. Highly recommend it
This band just keeps getting tighter and better. What a great show. Also, they must have THE GREATEST sound-man around. EVERY time I hear Lake Street Dive I find myself commenting on the levels, the mix, the overall sound; it is just impeccable. Only thing I can somewhat neutral comment is Side Pony – probably the worst song they have ever recorded. However, they MUST play it every show for obvious reasons. I would fill that 4 minutes with any other of their tunes. Again, EXCELLENT show and bucket loads of kudos to the sound crew.
I was so happy to get to see them in Westbury. Every time I see them coming to the NYC their shows are sold out. Now I know why. They put on a wonderful show. Their music is great, the lyrics as well. The lead singer is mesmerizing. You can tell they love performing and the joy is infectious. The opening band, Lawrence, were great too.
