About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

  • Lake Street Drive was Amazing

by Baggitt on 7/10/18Thompson's Point - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Thompson's Point was a beautiful venue with amazing sound quality, and the view overlooking the fore river was great. Lake Street Drive was incredible in person, and I would see the again in a heartbeat.

Lake Street Dive sounded amazing. They were so fun and you could see their joy. Venue was perfect for a summer night. Couldn’t ask for much more.

  • Lake street dive was great, though overproduced

by Redbankfan on 7/3/18Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

I’m a new fan of Lake Street Dive and I think the talent and originality of the musicians are exceptional. The lighting and effects were a bit over the top, or at least not complementary, for the style of this group. It was still a great experience.

  • LSD all the way!

Lake Street Dive was incredible One of the best bands on the face of the earth. The set was a great mix of old and new songs. I brought two newbies to the show. Both were blown away, one said that it was his new favorite band. It was the first time for all of us at the Count Basie Theater. The venue is beautiful. As far as the experience overall, I thought they were understaffed at the bar. I wanted to see them make more money. They were probably one or two bartenders short at the downstairs bar. It broke my heart to see all those people waiting to give them money and then having to wait in a line that was the length of the lobby. That whole concession/bar downstairs should be revisited for large crowds. The sound seemed muddled. I've seen Lake Street Dive on the road in much larger and much smaller venues and I can say that the sound set up did not match the sound of which they are capable. It wasn't awful, but a band with such outstanding vocals and musicianship deserved a better set up. I would go see Lake Street Dive anywhere but I would be very picky about going back to the Count Basie for anybody else. Now, it may be that I was all the way to the right in the orchestra but I had the same exact area when they performed at the Beacon in NYC and there was no such problem.

  • Lake Street Dive at the Basie

by Charlie001 on 7/2/18Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

When we saw LSD at the Bearsville Theater a few years ago, they were damn good. And when we saw them at the Basie on June 29, they were (in my wife's words) "Ten Times Better". Let's hope that the addition of keyboardist Akie Bermiss is not a temporary move. The show was put together well and builds nicely. Toward the end, they really let loose with "Good Kisser". If you check their website, you will see that they are playing to sold out houses across the USA. No wonder. They are THAT GOOD.

  • Great show!!!

Incredible musicianship, no nonsense presentation, flashback worthy light show and a singer who can make angel choirs look down from heaven, has the pipes to shake the Gates of Heaven wide open, and make Lucifer wish he could reconsider his choices! Fantastic first time viewing of perfection!

  • River Whyless / Lake Street Dive - Great Show

by AmosTucker on 6/23/18House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - ClevelandRating: 4 out of 5

Overall great show and performance by both bands. Standing in the front of the general admission floor was a perfect spot to watch the performance. Good lighting and sound mixing. Not too loud. This was my first time to House of Blues. Looking forward to my next.

We have seen Lake Street Dive twice now and they are amazing every time. We discovered a new band we love how too, River Whyless. It was a great show and venue!

  • Lake Street Dive passionate in class of their own!

by ToltecMtnMan on 6/9/18MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake TahoeRating: 5 out of 5

I've heard Lake Street Dive for a couple years, thinking they were relatively undiscovered. After finding them on YouTube, I played many of their tunes and videos and was hooked. My wife, also quickly avid about them, spotted a concert ad for MontBleu at South Lake Tahoe. We went and found the group utterly passionate and electrifying. Their sound combines elements of jazz, soul, street gospel, and blues to my ear, yet I can't tag them with a fixed label. They're classically trained (New England Conservatory of Music in Boston), which says a lot (even taking on a cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody). Every band member contributes a unique part of this sound, and talents run very deep. Much has been said about the excellence of the band and individual members. What struck me too is the ensemble nature of this sound that needs every piece to function. The band plays to the audience with such showmanship, resonance, sympathetic vibe, and periods of losing themselves to their roles that you can't escape being endeared to these artists. The music lofts you along as you find new ears. You are served live music that easily eclipses the recordings, and is so infectious that you just gape and groove. Now we've got most of the albums and there's no end to it. Highest recommendation.

  • Lake Street Dive Lake Tahoe

by RedRoadRecording on 6/6/18MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake TahoeRating: 4 out of 5

Great show and warm up Mikaela Davis was a special treat! Wish venue had bigger dance floor area and I believe if the area right in front of the stage was no seating that the interaction with the bands would benefit the show energy.

  • Rachael Price has an amazing set of pipes

by MarkoPolo89449 on 6/5/18MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake TahoeRating: 5 out of 5

Great band, really tight sounds. Rachael Price is an amazing singer.

  • Lake Street Dive was fabulous

by MusicGenie on 6/5/18MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa - South Lake TahoeRating: 4 out of 5

The group gave a terrific performance; the should was great. The room is nice, but the table/chair arrangement was a little awkward; and the total absences of any security personnel, even when an audience member breached the apron of the stage was a little concerning.

  • Lake Street Dive was great as expected

by Boanerges8 on 5/28/18House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive is my favorite group and they never disappoint. I upgraded to the VIP section and was closer than desired to the speakers. If the future permits, I will avoid being seated at the speakers and have a better view of my favorite group with better sound. Seeing LSD live is a must.
