Hadestown On Tour
COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE.
Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this acclaimed new show by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today... and always.
Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell's beguiling melodies and Chavkin's poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers and singers, Hadestownis a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.

Hadestown has been one of my favorite musicals since its official Broadway album release in 2019. For the first time since that time, I was able to see the show live and with all that build up overtime, it surpassed expectations. The acting, the singing, the music, the set, the lights; everything was more amazing than I could have ever hope for. It is like the gods themselves stepped onto stage for this performance, telling their story of gods and men.
When I went to see the show, I was expecting to have an "ok"time. Wow, was I surprised. It was great! The cast was just fantastic! I could not have asked for a more delightful evening!
Entertaining show, well acted and sung, but it can’t overcome the lousy acoustics in Chrysler Hall that rendered lots of the lyrics unintelligible. Let’s all hope that the big rehab of Chrysler Hall finally fixes the acoustics!
Hadestown is a great musical. I think it is definitely worth seeing.
Amazing show! We had no idea what we were gonna experience. We were blown away! Plot, characters, vocals, staging, live band were all fantastic! A Greek tragedy with modern twists. Must see B’way show!
My friend and I decided to see Hadestown without knowing much about it. We absolutely loved the whole production. It had a clever set, interesting music, and a talented, diverse cast. I will definitely be seeing it again!
I’ve been wanting to see this show for a while and finally was able to see it. Being a music kid made the show so much more magical and amazing for me. We both loved it! The music was tear jerking in some parts, had bits of humor, and overall told the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice very well. My favorite will always be Hades and Persephone <3
I've been familiar with this musical for a while, and finally seeing it live was everything I've ever dreamed! The cast gave their all for each and every song, and the band was phenomenal! If you are interested in Greek mythology, or beautiful folk-jazz music, or just a compelling & moving story about love, GO SEE IT! Add it to your bucket list :)
Loved the play! The music and the lighting was amazing. The story and the acting was spot on. The New Orleans vibes were spot on! I wish the dance had been tighter.
This was an amazing show. The audience is just on the edge of their seat fully entrenched in what is happening. The cast is very small, the band is on stage, and the stage stays the same. It is such an intimate setting. My seats were up in the mezzanine and pretty far back, but that didn’t keep me from being involved in the raw emotion of the intimacy going on. Wonderful experience
It was my first time seeing Hadestown and it didn’t disappoint! The performance was outstanding! Music was phenomenal. Great show!
Before we went to the show, we read about the the plot and saw some photos. We were not sure we would like it. This show did amaze us. The cast showed all their energy and the super talents. We enjoyed ALL of it. It is not a usual classic Broadway show we think. GO TO SEE IT!!!
The show was everything you’d want to see! The set was stunning, the band was incredibly talented, and the voices were nothing short of phenomenal. Worth every single penny spent on the tickets. Definitely a performance i wanna see again and again 🖤.
Everything about the production was fantastic! The sets were amazing.
This is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. The cast was spectacular!
This was my first braodway type musical. I had heard of the musical when it was on NPR Tiny Desk, and wanted to see it very badly, but could not get to New York to see. So when it came to Bham, I had to go. It was awazing. The cast were super, the staging was great and the effects were out of this world good.
Amazing cast and music. We enjoyed so much that went twice in one week. The trombone player KILLED it. There was a different Hades for our second performance (congratulations to that gentleman!), so it was a fun opportunity to see a different take on the role.
I had been looking forward to seeing this for months. It definitely did not disappoint! Wonderful, extremely talented cast! The staging was amazing. I would love to see it again.
So, so good!! Hermes was out of this World!! Well, everyone was!! Such rich voices, perfect sounding, and that Hades?!?! Brilliant!!! The set was mesmerizing and the rotating stage element...blew my mind!!!
