About

Hadestown On Tour

COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE.

Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this acclaimed new show by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today... and always.

Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell's beguiling melodies and Chavkin's poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers and singers, Hadestownis a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.

    BRILLIANT IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE!

by Cory on 4/23/24Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

Hadestown was absolutely incredible! The set was gorgeous and superbly functional. The costuming was modern, yet simultaneously vintage, and fit the mood of every scene/act. The cast/ensemble were fantastically believable, they intimately evoked scores of emotions on the audience at every turn, their voices and musicianship were absolutely unmatched. If this show is coming to your city, it would be horribly remiss of you not to see it! I can’t recommend this show strongly enough. I’ve seen quite a few shows over the past couple years, and Hadestown has been my absolute favorite by far! This show exceeded all of my expectations, a perfect 10/10!

A great production and fantastic sho

by Big Poppa C on 4/20/24Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

This is my wife's favorite show hands down. I'm not always a fan of musicals ,and or love stories, but thoroughly enjoyed this. We saw it on Broadway last year and had to see it again when we heard ot was traveling. The traveling show did not disappoint us at all. And the Landmark theater is a great room.

    Great cast

by Michael on 4/19/24Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

Took my daughters to this national tour show in Syracuse. We saw the original cast perform the show a few months after Broadway reopened post pandemic. I mentioned that as our bar was set high for expectations! The national tour cast was fantastic and set design/sound in the landmark theater was great. We saw opening night in Syracuse… I believe there were two understudies performing that evening, though it was not mentioned in the program. Cast was great.

Beautiful show the cast was outstanding I enjoyed all the music the dancing the impressive choreography for the fight scenes I really loved the band being on stage getting involved in the show. The set and costumes for gorgeous they fit the vibe and the theme of the show perfectly it is a truly unique retelling of a Greek tragedy and as someone who loves history I greatly appreciate that.

    Amazing play, sound was sketch

    by T. H. on 4/9/24Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

The storyline, the music, the acting - all amazing. The sound system, not so amazing. A friend sitting on the main floor about 9 rows back had no problems with the sound, we were on second tier and it was fuzzy and often difficult to understand the words. At the very close they sang another song and didn't turn the sound on at all, so we didn't hear it well at all.

    Great show, terrible parking

by Tina on 4/8/24Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

The show was amazing! However, Clowes Hall needs to think about the other events happening onsite at the same time as parking was a nightmare. I watched older people with limited mobility hiking long distances to get to the show because there was no parking available. My daughter and I had to park 0.5 mile away on the street.

Great music - More articulation needed

by Theater Newbie on 4/7/24Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

Hadestown was mostly great. However, I don’t know if due to the actual sound in the theater, or, rather a lack of enunciation on the part of some actors, some songs were not well heard. The actors all had great voices and the music is very enjoyable, too bad all the words weren’t understood.

Do your Greek myth homework before attending

by myrtle wrenwooda on 4/6/24Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

Show takes a couple songs to get going and can be confusing even for those familiar with Orpheus & Eurydice and Hades & Persephone myths. It soon finds its energy, becomes easier to follow, and makes for an enjoyable experience. Standout performance: Lana Gordon as Persephone

I was in a trance from the moment it started to the moment it ended. I’m still singing the little song in my head. La la la la la! The cast was amazing everything just fit together like a glove and bread what I thought of in my head to life on the stage I want to see it again and again

My wife and I previously attended this play on broadway and I didn’t know how it would feel in a bigger facility…..it was excellent and the cast was as good as the broadway cast.

    So fun!

by S Booker on 4/3/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Everyone was great! Amaya Braganza as Eurydice has a phenomenal presence and voice. John Krause as Orpheus was endearing and sincere. Will Mann as Hermes was captivating from the beginning. Lana Gordon as Persephone was spicy and high-spirited. Everyone in the orchestra, especially Emily Fredrickson on the trombone, was up to a very high quality level of play. Would highly recommend this tragi-comedy to anyone who is just looking to have a good time and be entertained.

    Great Show!

by JackieD on 4/3/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

This may not be for everyone, but if you like a little jazz, a little folk, a little greek mythology and a TRUE musical, not some knock off of a movie, Hadestown is for you!

    An INCREDIBLE performance!

by Kayla A. on 4/2/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

By some miracle, I managed to snag front row seats to this show and it was so, so worth it. The cast was on fire, and being so close to the stage, I felt each of their emotions (joy, grief, sorrow, rage) as if they were my own. I am already looking forward to the next time Hadestown is in my area - an old song we'll sing again, indeed!

Amazing show, but slight audio issues

by Lily on 4/2/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

The show was amazing and well done, the only real issue both my partner and i noticed is that persephone’s mic was turned up too much and the increase in volume made her difficult to understand.
