GLASS TIGER IN CONCERT:

Canadian rockers Glass Tiger are a fierce five-piece band that's been hammering out the hits since 1986, and they sound as fresh as ever nearly 30 years later. Lead singer Alan Frew still knows how to command the stage with his sharp, impeccable vocals and rich guitar strumming while his bandmates shred out solos on hits like "Someday" and "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)". With their popular alt-rock tunes and on-point musicianship, Glass Tiger always brings the house down when they perform for eager ticket buyers on their can't-miss tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The members of Glass Tiger – singer Alan Frew,  keyboard player Sam Reid, guitarist Al Connelly, bassist Wayne Parker, and drummer Michael Hanson – first got together in 1983 and performed under the name Tokyo. They earned their big break a year later playing for sold-out crowds as an opening act for Boy George and Culture Club on tour. They attracted attention from several labels at the shows, eventually signing to Capitol Records and changing their name to the current moniker. They earned widespread acclaim with their four-times platinum-selling debut Thin Red Line, which featured the smash hit "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" – a song that peaked at No. 1 on the Canadian Songs chart, earned the band three Juno Awards, and launched them to international stardom. Glass Tiger continued to enjoy success with their follow-up releases Diamond Sun (1988) and Simple Mission (1991), which they supported with extensive touring throughout their native Canada. After a hiatus that saw the band's members pursue various other projects, the group got back together in 2003 to perform local shows. Although the band has had a lineup change since reforming with new drummer Chris McNeill, Glass Tiger still knows how to rock a crowd and deliver a hit-filled live show.

  • Glass Tiger Didn't Forget

by MoeJo on 4/15/25Club Regent Event Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Very much enjoyed it - Alan, the Lead Singer his voice has withstood time and sounded just like in the 80's; He captivated the audience along with personalizing it, & his great humour. The Band nailed it with their performance! Fantastic!

  • Glass Tiger sounded great

by Night owl on 4/15/25Club Regent Event Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Glass Tiger sounded almost as good as they did in the 80’s. The lead singer was engaging and the sound in the venue was good. The warm up “DJ” was really lame. So many better options! They could have gotten a local band that does 80’s hits to warm the crowd up. No one seemed to be really into listening to his song choices.

  • The concert was great!!

Was Not impressed with the fact that we had to listen to a DJ for over half an hour first. That is not what I paid for.

  • FEW Hit songs@

by Just okay on 4/15/25Club Regent Event Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

We felt the entertainment was quite good. Good voice strength, but truly expected 90 percent of the show to be about original song hits. So we give it a "Just Okay"

  • Always a Riot

by MJZ on 4/8/25Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely love seeing these gents live. The music is a part of my soul, but it’s more than that. They are incredibly engaging and open with the crowd and the humour is always good for a giggle or outright belly laugh! They truly appear to love who they work with and appreciate the experience as much as those of us coming to see them. They do us Canadians proud…… and consistently entertained.

  • Another Great GT Concert!

by GT4Ever on 4/8/25Grey Eagle Event Centre - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was a great experience. I am totally biased, I've been a GT fan since the beginning! The venue is excellent. This is the second time I've seen Glass Tiger at the Grey Eagle and I enjoyed both concerts and both vantage points. Glass Tiger always delivers a fantastic show and great music. There is always something old (great for the memories!) and something new (something to look forward to). It is a great evening out, for sure and they never disappoint! Thank you for a great experience!
