Gary brings the roof down baby. Jammin, classics, energy you name it he brings it
So glad we were able to see Gary Clark jr at the Fillmore in Detroit! We love everything he does with his guitars. We saw him years ago as an opener and were thrilled to see him as the headliner. The venue was great and all of the people involved were helpful and kind. Only downside-we have a 90+ minute drive so a weekend date would have been perfect.
The venue was super hot and seats are super tight. Sound and acoustics were not good. Gary Clark was good but the setlist was little to no change from night to night and was slow, sleepy and tilted too much to new album ….
There is something about live music that stirs the soul but Gary Clark Jr took that to another level. I was expecting a good performance but left feeling I was a part of something special, one of the real treasures. In addition to SRV like guitar skills, Gary engaged the audience (and the city) with stories, comments and body language that made you believe he was feeling the spirit as much as we were. The energy exchange between the band and the fans built with each song and musical element and even between band members like when Gary invited his friend and mentor “Big Papa” to step in then asked him to stay on (clearly not planned) as the fans reacted to his otherworldly axe playing. All in all, a perfect night at The Shed.
He rocked and did the BLUES, a perfect night at the Shed ! G C is incredible ! I’ll be back !
Gary Clark Jr was fantastic. The outdoor stage at the Salt Shed is an amazing venue for a concert
Definitely see Gary Clark Jr live...whether you are a fan or not...just do it, you won't regret it.
The music was superb and it exceeded my expectations.
Gary Clark Jr's guitar playing was great at The Filmore Detroit show. However he needs to fire his sound engineer. They was a very loud and irritating background feedback buzz for over half the show and you could not understand a single lyric or any words that he spoke into his mic. Unfortunately this ruined what could have been a great show.
I seen Gary Clark Junior a few times and he’s always great. He just plays and plays and plays. Very talented man! And the salt shed is an excellent venue for a show inside is beautiful, great acoustics and outside as old as well.
It was a great show. Gary is so good. After the last show was cancelled due to covid, I was happy to see him
The concert was great! The venue was fantastic!! Everything was so clean, nice people working there!! Reasonable prices on food and drink!! Can’t wait to go back!
Gary clark jr is a great blues artist and the venue was amazing!! Will definitely be doing both of those again
GCJ was incedible...he moved seemlessly between crooning ballads to blistering blues. His voice and guitar playing were mesmerizing. His band kept up with him and supported him at every turn, with some nice solos mixed in. Salt Shed is a great venue. Shared the experience with my son which made it all the more special.
First time at The Salt Shed. Great Space and Gary killed it! Can’t wait for more!
Great concert. Not 5 stars because i wasnt a big fan of the R&B songs and the new album.
I was really excited to see him. We've been listening to him for a few years now. We're even fans of the new album. The Filmore in Detroit is an amazing venue to see a show like this. He is a great guitar player and singer but has zero showmanship. The first two or three songs looked like it was going to be a good show. Then fizzled to boredom. He appears to need 2 minutes of dark stage, with the entire band standing around, in between songs. Every song. You really start to notice that they turn down the other instruments when he is doing a solo. Most of this we could get through but then he played none of his "Hits."No "Pearl Cadillac", no "I've got my eyes on you,"no "Come together." Living in the Detroit area we've attended hundreds of concerts. This ranked in our top 5 most disappointing. There were literally people leaving the show asking where to go to get their money back.
The man and his band played for > 2 hours which was absolutely awesome. I would have liked if he would have played more of his older tunes. Nothing against his newer stuff, I just didn’t know it as well so it wasn’t as enjoyable for me.
The venue was perfect. Everyone had a good seat. Gary Clark junior was fantastic. His guitar runs were great I love listening to him sing. The Factory was comfortable to sit and in joy the music. There was multiple bars to get a drink quickly. Great lay out. Will differently return
Gary Clark Jr was incredible. Super fun show. This was our first show at The Factory and we were very impressed with the venue. The seats had plenty of room to stretch out and the acoustics were amazing.
