She and Frank Rich are terrific ensemble What a nite!
More or less the same comments she has on talk shows. Which is fine. Being the The Q & A should was half the show and could have been really amazing - microphones would have helped She is making more than one of my lessor attorneys
I love that she does an a Q&A for the last hour, really engaging.
She was very funny, interesting and quick-witted. The venue could use some serious updating though. The seats were old, funky, uneven.
Not sure the contrarian is to be productive There is a new young generation listening to Fran and her message is passive sctick - no cellphone no computer; really! And she was certainly funny enough
Loved the format (1/2 hour interview, 1 hour q&a). Fran was consistently so funny. I completely identify with her always.
Ironically heart-warmingly sardonic. True to the old New York: clever, humorous, skeptical, and human.
Very entertaining & enjoyable experience. Fran is authentic & absolutely hilarious! I love her no nonsense, tell it like it is style.
Loved seeing Fran! My only complaint is that the lighting wasn’t very good so it was a bit difficult to see her face
I’ve been a big fan of hers and was excited to finally get to see her in person.
Awesome! Great show. Such a joy and first hand. AND the theathre
Fran was interesting and entertaining but the evening could have been improved with the following observations. Unfortunately the moderator's time was wasted as I was not interested in hearing his views. `I came to hear the principle speaker so an introduction was all that was necessary. Along that same line of reasoning, she should have been given most of the evening and not an extended Q&A. So much time was lost with constantly repeating during the Q&A that could have been saved with some microphones.
Fran acerbic as ever and the show quite entertaining. Is there any way the questioners could be given a mic so the audience and Fran could hear the questions being asked?
My sister and I had great box seats. The problem was that the lighting on the stage cast a terrible shadow on the interviewer and Fran’s faces. Then, the sound wasn’t clear enough from the microphones to adequately hear every word. It sounded muffled. Other than that, we enjoyed seeing her.
Fran Lebowitz is a pleasure to spend an evening with - funny as always and one of the most interesting speakers out there. Her wealth of experiences, keen memory and witty insights made for a great night out... and the Meyerhoff is one of our favorite venues.
The Rialto is one of the most (if not THE most) uncomfortable venues we've ever been to. The seats are way too small, too close together (I felt like I was in my neighbor's lap), and our knees were bent almost to our chins. Think airline seating at its very worst, and multiply it by 10. So with the discomfort of the seating setting the tone, we were disappointed in the show. Fran Lebowitz is a favorite author and pundit of ours, yet she seemed tired, not on her game, and given to trite responses. Even the interviewer's questions were rather lame. Bottom line - I would rather have been somewhere else.
Entertainment at its best! Love the frankness and insights. Would go again.
The Rialto is a dump. When are they going to restore it. The seats are uncomfortable and too close together. The the may work as a dance club but it is the worst for seated events.
Seats where nice and roomy. The sound situation was very poor or maybe it was the way Ms.Libowitz spoke? I could hear the NPR moderater clearly. But there needed to be a close caption moniter when Ms. Libowitz spoke.. 1 hour spent on audience questions, which you couldnt decipher because they had no hand held microphones. If your wanting satire from Ms. Libowitz, like her Netflix doc, this is not for you. Very disappointing.
As always, Fran was insightful and witty. Sometimes the use of the microphone was sketchy (reason for 4 stars, not 5)
