My twelve yr old and I saw this performance. One word. Fantastic! Okay, two words. Must see.
Just beautiful , they have a contemporary energy which I really like...pushing the edge of what dance can look and feel like With strong connections to tradition
Great performance! The dancers are really talented and kept my interest. Would recommend to anyone who appreciated performance arts in general.
While sometimes a little stark for my taste in sets, the ensemble was choreographed brilliantly with fire and flare. The dancers were all extremely accomplished with a multitude of variances and depth. The series of vignettes range from modern, through traditional, and culminated in street grit worthy of New York at its best. The music selections were spot-on. If you only see one presentation this year, make it The Dance Theatre of Harlem. I’m telling all my friends not to miss this one.
This was one of the best ballet performances I have ever seen. From the old-school Pas de Deux from The Black Swan to the modern intensity and physicality of Contested Space, the entire performance was fascinating, exciting and passionate. I would have paid twice the price for any show with this level of professional dance talent.
One expects a lot from DTH, skill, of course, creativity and beauty. This production delivers it all. Absolutely breathtaking.
The performance was excellent. I recommend that you see for yourself. Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful.
Amazing performance. Loved the different dance scenes.
Great evening! So wonderful to see a DTOH performance again!
The dance performance was amazing and I would highly recommend it especially if you have children who are interested in the arts. The creative director was sitting in the audience and she took the time to speak with several guests and children. I was also happy to see some of the dances who were from the DC, Maryland and Virginia area.
Amazing. I wish they were in Washington, DC for more than one day.
Awesome. The dancers displaced just as much passion as technique. Arthur Mitchell and Karel Shook would be so proud.
Dance Theatre of Harlem was just wonderful and so full of feeling. I tell you it was amazing to see how the dancers all had so much wisdom and knowledge and by their actions they take what they do sincere. I would definitely come again!!! Great
The show was excellent. The dancers were beautiful and their form and artistry was spectacular. My only wish was that the show was longer. I could have watched all night.
The dancer were amazing!! I am seriously considering going to see them in DC in April. And though Morgan state is my Alma mater I must honestly say I was displeased with my seats. I paid for front row orchestra so I was disappointed that our ends seats created an obstructed view so we missed some parts of the performance. But all in all a great experience.
This ballet was amazing! Its so unique and different from traditional ballet. Not so serious. The music was fun and entertaining. I loved it!! Some of the dancers were cute too lol :)
The DTHE was great! My daughter is 13 years old and is a dancer. She was very impressed and wouild like to join the group one day. Hope they return.
These young dancers were absolutely incredible. It was amazing to see the various styles of dance being performed so flawlessly as if without effort.
I have always wanted to see Dance Theatre of Harlem. It was worth the wait and I look forward to seeing my next performance.
Growing up, I didn't get the opportunity to witness events of this nature too often. Even so, I've always had a fond interest in the arts and theater. The "Dance Theatre of Harlem" performed exceptionally well. The performers were truly some of the best i've seen in my life. From Technique to style and talent they were amazing. If you never see any other Dance company perform make sure you see Dance Theatre of Harlem.
