Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

  • Come From Away -outstanding performance, very moving

by Bob on 5/12/19Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Come From Away is a well written musical based on the true story of Canadians in Newfoundland who welcomed, housed, fed, and met all personal needs of over 7,000 stranded air travelers on 9/11 for almost one week. The staging, choreography, story, music & lyrics, and the performances of the actors were outstanding and extremely moving. Highly recommended! This timely run moves us all to rethink how we respond to others who are different from us at a time when the US president is embracing white nationalism, closing borders to immigrants, enacting Muslim bans, and defending violent white supremacists.

  • Best traveling Broadway musical ever!

by Sue on 5/12/19Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

I was just in New York about 3 weeks ago and the comparison was identical. The talent was unbelievable in New York and in Milwaukee. What's the storyline is just wonderful. If you don't normally go to see musicals go go go to this one!

  • Outstanding!

Wonderful adaptation of a serious situation. So many emotions- sad, tense, funny, compassionate, endearing. Musical score was fantastic. Actors made us feel like we were there. 9/11 a musical? Pulled it off!

  • Great if I could hear it

by MKEgal on 5/11/19Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Wonderful story but the dialogue was unnecessarily fast and the actors didn't always have mics that projected their voices. My friend commented on the same without promoting. Orchestra seats would be fine...for those that can afford it. Very disappointed that I missed so many of the punch lines.

  • Fantastic! Heartwarming!

Loved, loved the production. Fast-moving, interesting, a heart-warmer at a time we need one. It reminds us all of the importance of our relationship with our Canadian neighbors. ❤️

  • Fantastic! Wonderful story telling!

Creative staging to enhance storytelling. KUDOS TO THE LIGHTING DESIGNER!! A show you can laugh, and cry, with. Actors were top notch. Beautiful and comfortable theater space. Looking forward to catching the show again later on its tour. Thank you for a terrific production.

  • Liked the production;the material not as much

    by J. K. on 5/10/19Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - MilwaukeeRating: 3 out of 5

I was disappointed in the show itself. It was very predictable. It felt generic - there were so many vague characters. The production was beautiful, and the cast terrific- I just wish that I had cared about the show more.

A fantastic evening at the theater. The show kept our attention for 100 minutes straight, drawing every emotion from laughter to tears. A must see!

  • Fantastic Show!

by RYC88 on 4/30/19Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulously done! I was so impressed by how they were able to tell such moving and poignant stories through amazing music and clever set design and such a wonderful, diverse, talented cast. Even though the story is based on the horror of 9/11, it was so uplifting to hear that the whole world was not terrible and that the tragedy brought out the goodness in most people. It was such a terrific musical - great voices, excellent scripting, wonderful casting - truly a gem!

  • Fabulous Show & Impassioned Cast

This is my third time seeing ‘Come From Away’. What a beautiful show about friendship and the need to come together during times of tragedy. Although based upon one of the saddest, most awful events imaginable, the show is uplifting and the music is lovely. This cast played their hearts out!!!!

I have never been so moved by a theatrical experience. I was laughing through tears. The cast and production are spectacular, and we need more stories like this to let us know that kindness with no expectation of reciprocation still exists. Will see it many more times.

  • Absolutely terrific

You laugh and clap and next thing you know you're on the verge of tears. Loved the presentation.

  • Excellent

I am not a play person and got tickets to this on the recommendation of several theatre-goers. I was enthralled from start to finish - funny, emotional, and a great shorter show (90 mins no intermission). Also, we had RORCLV seats that warned of partial views, and they were still excellent seats. You only really miss if one person is on a very far stage right. Awesome show.

  • Come From Away

    by K. G. on 4/29/19Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

This is one of the best shows I have ever seen. It rivals Hamilton which I saw last month in NY. The story, the actors, the singing all combined to make this one of the best ever. We laughed, we cried, we cheered, we danced in the aisles. There will never be another like it. Grand slam home run!

  • Must see!

We LOVED the play! It was funny, meaningful and exceptionally performed.

  • Up tempo-funny and sad

by CED on 4/28/19Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

We learned a lot about the after effects of 9/11. The people of Newfoundland were so gracious to the people on the many planes that were effected. We owe them.

  • Entertainment at its finest

by Steph on 4/28/19Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

The cast was absolutely incredible! I laughed I cried, they were perfect! We brought our 8 year old daughter and she had a smile from ear to ear the entire show. The closing with the musicians was awesome! I’d love to see it again! Best show Ever

  • Fabulous show!!!

Very impactful, emotional, such creativity to put this story into a musical, seamless ability to interchange roles for the actors, great musical background, appeared to cover so many aspects of this event that one could not imagine had to be dealt with. In a different sense, it was as big a hit as when I saw Hamilton
