Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

Gets every emotion going! It was so enlightening, so fun, and so lovely.

  • Thoroughly loved it!

by Bownesian on 9/25/24Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

We laughed and clapped and just thoroughly enjoyed this sensitive, factual and well done play. The funny Newfie jokes and Canadiana was the best knowing how the heart of this community showed their love and hospitality just as they always do. We learned a lot we did not know of what the passengers were going through and the sad reality they all faced. Highly recommend Come From Away!!

Fantastic acting, great story. I am hard of hearing. Even with hearing aids I found it difficult to hear the dialogue. The canned laughter throughout the play was annoying.

  • Very Uplifting

What a wonderful show full of laughter and love! So much information we did not know about. This show depicts the epitome of kindness that the small town of Gander showed the world; in a time of tragedy and uncertainty. Very uplifting - I would go see it again! The cast and the band received a standing 5 minute ovation - they brought the audience in as part of them - just outstanding!

Performance was great. Story was moving and funny. I laughed, I cried. I tend to enjoy the older musicals more, but this one was relevant to our culture and country.

  • Worth every penny

by Leelee on 9/22/24Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing. It was moving and sensitive. The cast is incredibly talented and engaging. The music and musicians were authentic and added to the whole experience. It is a clever and riveting way to tell that particular story from 9-11. I remember that day intensely and the show was a beautiful message to take from that.

  • Feel good, amazing performance

by Bev on 9/22/24Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Second time seeing Come From Away and it was equally amazing. What Gander residence had to do to accommodate everyone during 911 was outstanding and selfless. But that’s Easterners, we are a special bunch of down to earth Canadians and very proud to be so.

  • Awesome

Good venue even though we were in balcony. World class event.

  • Come from Away Unintelligable

by SheilaJ on 9/21/24Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

I dearly love this show, but each time I’ve attended at the South Alberta Jubilee Auditorium I’ve had such difficulty in making out what is being said. The speech in both song & spoken word was indistinct most of the time. I miss the story line & jokes. The female pilot was impossible to understand. Please, PLEASE have the actors enunciate their words clearly!!!! The music & choreography were fabulous. Especially loved the moment when the 12 actors changed to air traffic controllers. Brilliantly executed.

  • Beyond my expectations

by Patrizia on 9/20/24Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievable show what a fantastic way to tell a beautiful story of human kindness. Amazing cast amazing directing choreography! It was all incredible. I just wish the tickets were not so expensive so I could have taken my whole family.it is getting more and more difficult to do such outings - very unfortunate because the arts are so important.

  • Want to see Come From Away again

by Eliz on 9/20/24Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was so well done. It had everything. It was sad, happy, funny, informative and entertaining. We could only imagine what those 5 days must have been like for those hosting and for those who were re-routed there. It was worth the money for sure. Bravo!

  • Insipires Tremendous National Pride

by Irene on 9/18/24Queen Elizabeth Theatre - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

From the first strains of Welcome to the Rock to its reprise at the end, this musical is one that has your emotions in its grip and doesn't EVER let go. If you're Canadian going to see this musical, you can't help but leave busting with national pride; if you're not Canadian you'll likely wish you were by the final curtain! I'd see it again in a heartbeat...like tomorrow!
