Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

  • Very Entertaining

by MissyMc on 6/26/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I did not know the story behind this event until researching the play. It's an ingenius way to use the same actors to represent the people of Newfoundland and the multicultural passengers of a plane bound for Dallas, TX that had to make an emergency landing on 9/11. It is well-performed and well-told. Not every verse is seamless but the strong voices pull you in. After a rousing encore, the musicians come from the shadows to perform some mini solos with their instruments, including an accordian and flute. I left entertained and enlightened. Go see Come From Away.

  • So good!!! ❤️

by Christi on 6/26/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I loved this play! The music was fun, rhythmic, and beautiful! The actors played several parts throughout the story, and what a beautiful story they tell during one of the hardest times in our history. One hour and forty minutes of nonstop entertainment. I cried and laughed and cried some more. I would highly recommend this play to others. I can’t wait to see it again! ❤️

  • This is a must see production!

by TennGal on 6/25/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I saw this show for the second time and it was as good or better than we remembered from when we saw it the first time. The cast flow seamlessly between the various characters and each character has his/her own story. The music is great and the musicians are very talented. This is a must see musical. Too bad it’s not very well known. People are quite possibly missing out seeing this fast paced production. The hour and forty minutes without intermission fly by.

  • Great play based on an exceptional event

Great acting, great songs Newfoundland is a magic place where everyone is so friendly and this play shows this. Especially the friendship between the woman whose son is missing at 5he towers site and then calls her new friend in Newfoundland to share the sad news.

  • Fantastic

I enjoyed every second of this production. The story is just great to start with and the script just brings it to life. There were so many words/ phrases that are so true to Nfld that many people may have missed, but as a Canadian I appreciated all of those little details. Just fantastic

The play was excellent, we had seen it in Memphis in 2021 and enjoyed it just as much the second time! We stayed for the q&a after and enjoyed that too

This was not our first time seeing Come From Away, so I was prepared for a bit of a letdown. That did not happen! It was phenomenal - incredibly talented cast

  • Good but hard to understand

by Come from Away on 6/25/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

This is a wonderful play and production; however the cast spoke so fast that many around us in the audience were saying they could not understand a lot of the words of dialogue or song. I had seen it before and don’t remember it being as much of an issue.

  • Best ensemble performance ever.

by James P. on 6/24/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

We had viewed the performance on Apple TV and loved it. Said if it ever came to town we would definitely go see it. Even though we knew some of the songs and knew what was going to happen, seeing it live blew us away. Best ensemble performance I believe we have ever seen. Enjoyed it 10 times more than we thought we would. Have recommended it to friends. Very glad we got to see it.

  • Totally enjoyed

by Gigi R on 6/24/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

I was very happy to realize that the play was better than I expected. Any story centering on 9/11 brings the mind to fear and death. The story was uplifting even though it was focused on a terrible few days. Come From Away was able to provide the feelings of hope, love, compassion and resilience in a moving way while still honoring those who perished that day. The acting was flawless. I would definitely recommend it to everyone

  • Amazing!

by Lin D on 6/24/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing! Singing and acting outstanding! I have been to many shows at the orpheum and truly believe this one was the best. You came away with not only understanding of what went on in Gander that day, but a real good feeling about the human race.

  • Fabulous

  • What an experience!

by Catherine on 6/9/24Citizens Opera House - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

My student-pilot son and I have watched the Gander documentary several times, and I read the book. As soon as I found out this was coming to Boston I got tickets for myself, two teen boys, and my husband. My older son loves the story and the music of Hamilton, so I knew he'd like this show. My younger son and husband are not huge live performance fans. They ended up LOVING it!! Everyone said it was better than they expected. The loved the humor, and the songs were fun and easy to keep up with. We were so impressed with the final song - it was akin to a rock concert! I couldn't believe the standing ovation and the way the crowd cheered - it was seriously as if a rock star was on stage. Such an amazing experience and I'd love to go again!

  • Amazing show!

by Kabbie on 6/5/24Citizens Opera House - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I can't say enough good things about this production. It was uplifting, entertaining, funny, heartwarming, thought provoking. Performers were wonderful. I left the show singing, and with a renewed faith in humanity. Highly recommend!!

  • Awesome show Excellent cast

by NP on 6/5/24Citizens Opera House - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This show made me laugh and cry. It definitely renewed hope that no matter our differences, when it counts we can come together and find our common ground and show each other love and compassion.

  • Loved it, Again!

by Pak BeeGirl on 6/5/24Citizens Opera House - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

An amazing experience! I was on the edge of my seat for the whole show. There were no breaks. It is action packed. The songs are wonderful. The actors and actresses playing different parts blows you away! Lots of tears as I recalled that sad, scary day and the uncertainty of the ones that followed. Thank you for bringing us to YQX!

  • Fabulous production!

by Freckles on 6/5/24Citizens Opera House - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This is an amazing production, bringing the audience from ruckus laughter to deep sadness as they tell the tragic story of 9/11 with the grounding of 38 planes in Gandor, Newfoundland on September 11, 2001. With a cast of 12 and minimal set design, the story is told from 26 different perspectives. It’s beautifully done. Bravo!!
