About

Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

  • Come from Away

This is a MUST SEE show. It is part of our history, it is part of Nfld`s history, highlighting the issues that occurred both in and out of the 38 planes that suddenly landed in a small town. People from The Rock really truly rocked. The characters played were spectacular. You laugh, you cry, you laugh again. The music is so appropriately Nfld. Bravo to cast and crew...and especially to Gander folks.

Great acting, singing, comedy and had the “Newfie accent” perfectly! Experienced joy, sadness, laughter, human kindness like never before, love and encouragement!

  • Outstanding!

The cast had us mesmerized with their ability to switch characters by means of a small costume adjustment and taking the audience with them as they became that person. Their talent, humour and passion kept us all entranced throughout the show. This, coupled with the exceptional performance of those talented musicians, had everyone on their feet. Highly recommend this heartwarming rendition of such a wonderful story.

Emotional and entertaining. The choreography and costume changes were so smart. The actors playing all the different characters were amazing! Such a unique story and inspiring to be kind. So glad I went to see it!

From the time the lights dimmed till the end of the show I was engaged. Very high energy fast moving show. The dialogue acting and singing were perfect

  • Mediocre

I had seen the performance in Toronto and this paled by comparison. I don’t think it was a troupe issue. More one of poor acoustics. All of the sound was focused on the stage, it seemed. So the spoken words of some actors were unclear, so some of the story was lost. Also the stage was just too far away. It was looking through a tunnel and they were a spot at the end. Might have been better to have it more into the ice surface and have less floor space and more in the bleachers ( it only if the sound came with it). Also, we darn near froze. Our seats were at the top of the escalators and the draft from under the curtain (which was about 3’ off the ground) was bone-chilling. Definitely not a classy venue for a quality production. I would far rather have gone to the Fredericton Playhouse or even the Moncton casino.

  • loved it!

It was an awesome show, I laughed, I cried, it was truly wonderful. My only complaint was the venue was quite cold so I wasn't prepared for that.

  • Great show

    by Don T on 5/12/25Avenir Centre - MonctonRating: 5 out of 5

Good venue - Entry was quick and efficient. We had floor seats and had a clear view of the stage. Production was absolutely spectacular. Parking was crazy and way too expensive

  • Sound

by Janice on 5/12/25Avenir Centre - MonctonRating: 3 out of 5

The sound was too low and also it would have.been great to have a couple big screens because of the size of the venue.
