One of the most amazing shows I have ever been too!
This was our 2nd time to see BSS, the first time in Dallas. As expected, they provided a great show. We also liked the venue, a classic theatre in San Francisco called the Warfield.
Really enjoyed seeing this band live, and especially excited because they haven't been touring much recently. Glad they didn't leave the stage for the encore, they just played 2 hours straight through.
kevin drew just sang and sang and sang until he couldn't sing anymore... and then he kept singing! I will never forget this show
Easily the strongest weak thing I've seen in a while.
I've seen BSS five times this year, and I'd have to say that this was the best show so far! Thanks for an epic performance and for playing songs I'd not heard live before. :)
Great energy. Played a LOT of songs and really seemed to enjoy, respect and care for the audience.
This show rocked. The band was the full on Toronto-all-stars that are BSS. Lots of guitars, lots of horns, lots of drums and lots of noise. Kevin and Co. were able to bring the complex layering and beautiful melodies that makes BSS so mesmerizing. Plus everyone was happy!
Broken Social Scene never, ever disappoints. They said they would not be coming back to SF for awhile and in exchange they gave, and gave with their music. Some of them were obviously ill, but they still gave.
I was so stoked to see this band live. I hadn't heard of Zeus, the opening band, but they blew me away. I downloaded their albums as soon as I got home. I think all the band members, except the drummer, sang lead on at least one song, and did it well. I am definitely a fan. Broken Social Scene started their show with World Sick. The slow build up was perfect for the opener. Unfortunately, Kevin Drew lost his voice just as he sang the first lines. The band went to some Drewless songs and palyed some acoustic stuff. Kevin came back and sang as much as he could to give us a great show. He was able to do World Sick by the end of the show. It was so great to see him push through because he didn't want to disappoint us. They played several encores and really connected with audience. It was a very unique experience. My one problem with this show was with the venue. FIRESTONE, YOU NEED A BACK HALLWAY TO GET ACROSS THE CLUB. The path to the bar is right through the crowd. Messes with the vibe.
From beginning to end, the whole place was a pulsing, beat-driven house of euphoria.
Tremendous wall of fine guitar sounds. Virtuosity plus love made a great show.
Definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen, phenomenal.
Broken Social Scene is amazing live. Kevin Drew lost his voice a bit but they still managed to pull off a incredible show. I highly recommend them!
I love Broken Social Scene and listen to their albums often. This was the first time that I have seen them in concert, and I have to say that I was a little disappointed. The first song set the tone. The started out with "World Sick" which has about a minute and half build-up before the singing starts. Two lines into the song the lead singer asked everyone to stop. "I can't do this. I've lost my voice." He left and the band picked up with another song. He eventually came back and sang the rest of the set with a scratchy voice - which I have to say was better than the show being canceled. Overall the whole thing felt very improvised - as if someone had just told them about the concert 10 minutes before the show started. "Oh, that was today? What are we gonna do guys?" "I dunno, we'll just make something up!" They seemed to have a conference after each song as to what to decide to play next. Wish Leslie Feist was there!
They were so incredible live. I wanted to see them again the next day!!!! The way they played got me to change my view of the songs, life was instilled into them from album version. I would recommend anybody to see them live.
Great sound.....band was enjoying performing as much as we were enjoying listening. Venue fantastic as well
Broken Social Scene truly exceeded my expectations! I had an awesome time! They are a talented bunch and deserve more recognition! I will definitely see them again. Also their opening act Zeus was incredible! Very talented! I loved their style of music and they just rocked The Ritz! Kudo to Zeus
I took my boyfriend to the show for a v-day present. It is now his 5th time seeing them live. He has traveled as far as Chicago to see them perform - we live in jacksonville, fl.(biggest fan) Great show!
