    Amazing

Absolutely Incredible. Sounded better than the albums...if that is even possible. Emily Haines came out to do Anthems. Just, fantastic. So much energy from the band and the crowd.

    MMmmmm--meh...

by Modsquad on 5/7/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Pretty disappointing showing. They've turned into a CCR jam band--the singles all sounded like they were classic rock versions. The band has morphed into a troupe of all men basically. The female vocalist wasn't very strong at all, and the Apostle should NOT be singing. They didn't pull the audience in--nobody was moving and for once I was content to post up against the back wall. I saw them in the same venue a couple of years ago and they blew my mind--one of my favorite concerts--and they were so strong i was up on iTunes downloading new songs of theirs into the wee hours. This time was so much different--had me longing for the CD versions.

    Broken Social Scene IS AMAZING!!

by Incuboyd311 on 5/6/10The Music Box - Hollywood

Not only is their music unique, hypnotic, and amazing, Broken Social Scene live is like no other! Brendan Cannning had the flu and played flawlessly. He was energetic and excited. If it had never been mentioned you would have thought Brendan was in perfect health. Kevin Drew's vocals were flawless as well. He was full of energy and humor. Always giving the audience a great laugh and advice: "Live your life!" "Be good to yourself!" "Do what you love!" Justin on the drums! Wow! The entire band right up to the horn section was amazing! Pure perfection. The audience kept yelling out more songs to play but there was only so much time. So little that is. They played an extra 30 minutes. We clapped and sang with lips mouthing in unison the lyrics of our favorite songs. We listened with gleaming eyes and radiant smiles like children waiting to open gifts on Christmas morning.
