Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) is the preeminent non-profit presenter of Broadway theater in North Texas. DSM produces, presents and promotes excellence in live musical theater with year-round performances for diverse audiences of all ages, impacting the lives of children and families through community outreach and education, and enriching the cultural landscape of Dallas/Fort Worth, North Texas and the Southwest Region.
DSM is the largest producer and presenter of live theatrical entertainment in the Southwest, the second oldest summer theater organization in the United States, and the fourth largest non-profit theater company. In addition to presenting national Broadway tours, DSM also produces shows on Broadway, presents and tours local productions, and is involved in developing new works. DSM is the winner of six Tony awards and two Drama Desk awards.
I had seen this show many years ago in Toronto. That production was much bigger, more elaborate, and unforgettable. Needless to say, I was disappointed after this show and my husband wondered what all the fuss was about. I would recommend this show just for the experience, if you haven't seen it, but look for a bigger production.
I took my whole family to see this musical. We all loved it. The costumes were incredible, the music was beautiful and the scenery was amazing. The talent of the performers was unforgettable. My kids already recommended it to all their friends and they are still talking about it.
From the set design to the costumes - The Lion King was a fabulous show!
My mom and I took my three nieces. They were 9, 3 and 2 yrs old. Everyone loved it. The girls loved the music and gave a standing ovation when the musical was over. The costumes were amazing and the music was superb!! I have to give credit to the people that worked at the music hall. I was in the lobby getting booster seats for the girls and wasn't going to make it in time to see the beginning of the show. So a very nice gentleman radioed someone and asked that they delay the opening number so that everyone that was in line could purchase booster seats or headsets and for that I'm eternally grateful !!! It was a sight to behold seeing the actors in costumes come down the center aisles.
The musical, the Lion King was phenomenal. It was breathtaking. The characters was awesome. I would go back to see it again, and have better seats. It was a night to remember. Cannot stop telling people about it. And I really enjoyed the musical.
The entire play was great but the costuming was unbelievable. The music was great and the entire show kept our 3-year old granddaughter's attention the entire time. This is truly a must-see show!
The Lion King was spectacular. This performance was not only a musical but an event that I will remember forever. If you have never seen a musical this is the one to see.

Absolutely Spectacular!! Vocally and visually stunning. We left the show singing those fantastic songs we loved when we were children with our children. Perfect unforgettable family night!!!
The costumes and music were captivating enough to keep my 3-year-old granddaughter mesmerized the entire time. This was her first musical, but it won't be her last. She wanted to see it again. Plus, all the adults in our group thought it was one of the best musicals we've ever seen.
This is the second time I've seen the show, first time at fair park, and it was still fabulous. The show is absolutely stunning and breath taking. They transform human dancers and actors into the most charismatic and graceful animals using every part if their body from head to toe. Rafiki is amazing and captivating the next best performance can be seen in the grace of the cheetah. While he has no lines, he tells the whole story and essence of the show through the beauty of his body movements. I will continue to go to this show ever year I can. Thank you so much to the creators for sharing with us your vision and igniting a love of broadway into my heart.
I don't know what to say except "WOW". The show was amazing, the actors are energetic and fun (especially the kids) and I loved the way they did the animals. From the entry scene where the giraffes walked in on stilts to the little mouse running through Scars's cave, I could not get enough of the sheer genius with which these scenes were portrayed. Lastly, since I come from South Africa, I also really enjoyed Rafiki throwing in words that we are used to in the cultural context. It made the musical feel more African than the movie did. I am recommending this show to everyone.
I thought it was a great show for all ages! Would def recommend.
Took the family to see the Lion King. It was a great performance. We loved how magnificent the puppets and set looked. The actors did a fantastic job in bringing those puppets to life. I'd go see it again. If you haven't seen it, it's a "must-go" show!
This was a great show for me. It reminds me of the movie, but better because of the musical, it was also funny.

Excellent show. The child actors in this production were particularly good compared to other shows with young cast members.
This was the first Broadway musical I have seen. I must say that the Lion King Broadway show was the best show ever. I love the fact that the singers were awesome, the costumes were awesome and also the music was awesome everything was just great. I will definitely attend another show.
We all loved it and would be happy to go back soon, tomorrow if possible!
