Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) is the preeminent non-profit presenter of Broadway theater in North Texas. DSM produces, presents and promotes excellence in live musical theater with year-round performances for diverse audiences of all ages, impacting the lives of children and families through community outreach and education, and enriching the cultural landscape of Dallas/Fort Worth, North Texas and the Southwest Region.
DSM is the largest producer and presenter of live theatrical entertainment in the Southwest, the second oldest summer theater organization in the United States, and the fourth largest non-profit theater company. In addition to presenting national Broadway tours, DSM also produces shows on Broadway, presents and tours local productions, and is involved in developing new works. DSM is the winner of six Tony awards and two Drama Desk awards.
We had a completely enjoyable experience with Lion King. Every aspect of the performance was super. Great singing, great acting, awesome costumes, wonderful orchestra and percussion and lighting. Even the audience was especially tuned in, engaged and responsive.
We were in awe at how spectacular this production was! Music was beautiful, costumes and acting were extraordinary!!! It was the perfect 1st musical for my son! Colors and activity kept him entertained!
Felt like other times I've seen it...dancing was stronger and more dramatic.
There were 6 of us in our party with 3 children ages 6-9. Their eyes got huge with the opening act! The 9 yr old boy when asked his favorite part "all of it - it was better than I thought it would be." One of the 6 yr old girls' favorite part was Rifiki!!! Actually, my favorite also. All 3 of us adults thought the show was spectacular!
Wonderful show! absolutely loved it! The costumes were amazing! A great family show.
Lion was great. The only complaint I have is how cold it was in the auditorium. So cold that the guy sitting behind me had his arms inside his shirt to stay warm. Not good.

It was well done. Young Simba was excellent! Did not think the singing was as good overall as in the past, not as loud and forceful in the "Circle of Life" for example.
We saw this show several years ago at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth Texas. It was a much better production. This time half the cast was not very good. Scar and Rafiki were great. Simba and Nala kids were great and the adult Nala was great. Other than those the main characters were not very good. It seemed like less animals went through the audience. The animals were excellent. Pumba and Timon were not good either. Musafa was poor. Adult Simba as ok. Our seats were very good. We were on first balcony. The production seemed tired.
Rafiki was super funny and really good! The kids loved it! I would recommend this to a family or to couples. It was worth the drive.
This production of the Lion King was the most amazing show I have ever been to!! I was captivated by the scenery, the performers and the costumes. I would recommend that everyone should see this production at least once. It was well worth the money!!
Words can describe how amazing The Lion King was. The opening sing of the Circle Of Life left me with chills. Everything about the play was done extremely well. I definitely want to see it again
Superb production. Top notch actors. The time passed so quickly in this fast paced musical.
It was incredible! The singing was great, the dancing beautiful & the animals were not to be believed! We had such a fun time. I had wanted to see this play for years & it was worth the wait. LOVED IT.
Great effects and performance. It was a great experience for me and my son which comes with a timeless lesson for people of all ages.

This show was well worth the ticket price. I had been waiting for years to see it in Dallas! The costumes are so innovative you almost forget there are people under them! The music is great and the actors did an extraordinary job playing their parts. I like that they kept classic lines and music but added some new as well.We sat in the third row of the balcony in Music Hall right in the middle section and the view and sound was perfect. A friend of mine sat at the back of the orchestra section and said the acoustics were not the best but they loved being right there to see the animals come down the aisle. Either preference, go to see this if you get the chance!

The 1st half was very impressive. I've only seen a few broadway shows before and this one was very entertaining. If recommend it for anyone who has kids over the age of 5 or 6.
The show was outstanding. I enjoyed it very much. So much talent, from the actors to the costume designers and set designers! I also want to say that the music was very emotional and moving!
