Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) is the preeminent non-profit presenter of Broadway theater in North Texas. DSM produces, presents and promotes excellence in live musical theater with year-round performances for diverse audiences of all ages, impacting the lives of children and families through community outreach and education, and enriching the cultural landscape of Dallas/Fort Worth, North Texas and the Southwest Region.
DSM is the largest producer and presenter of live theatrical entertainment in the Southwest, the second oldest summer theater organization in the United States, and the fourth largest non-profit theater company. In addition to presenting national Broadway tours, DSM also produces shows on Broadway, presents and tours local productions, and is involved in developing new works. DSM is the winner of six Tony awards and two Drama Desk awards.
From the first moment I was smiling and jumping with joy in my seat. It was like watching the movie but live. My fiancé was the same way. The lion king is her favorite movie and she still has not stopped raving about it.
This was a pretty fantastic little musical. The cast was great and the performance was good. The reason to knock down to four stars is the issue associated with the fair going on at the same time. In hindsight, I'd never book a musical during that time.
The Lion King, by far, was the best play/musical that I have seen. Very amazing!!
From the beginning to the finish, I thoroughly enjoyed. I had seen the play in New York about 6 years ago, but this was better than I remembered, plus they added a few scenes. The singing was powerful, well done with the cast. Love the bright costumes and props. We were literally transported to an African Safari. Well Done!!!!
The production was amazing! Costumes were fabulous!
I have been to many musicals over the years and this was by far the best put together. The music, the sets, the customes, and the actors put a wonderful show that I will never forget. It even kept the attention of my 13 year old and that is something!!
My 20-year old son with Down syndrome was ecstatic with one of the best Broadway performances thus far. He lives this story every day and was reluctantly able to sit in the balcony to see and live in Lion King. We/he has a joyful life and it includes Simba.
The Lion King was amazing, my 7 year old daughter has not stopped talking about it.
The costumes were amazing! The singers were awesome as well. I would take my daughter back again. Highly recommend!
Fabulous experience. If you like musicals you should see this at least once in a lifetime. The colors, costumes, voices and special effects are enthralling.
The show was incredible! Amazing performances by all actors with their puppetry and marionette skills. I applaud their dedication, physical endurance, and remarkable talent ability! My daughter waited six years to see the show becuase the last time we had the opportunity, the tickets were sold out so this was extra special for her and she is 22! Bravo!
Lion King was beautiful! At times it was a little difficult to hear dialog clearly but it was still okay. Costumes were terrific and very clever in depicting the animals. Music was wonderful. We loved it!
Lion King is such an amazing show. This was my second time seeing it and it was amazing! The only bad part was the end of the show when we were trying to return the seat 'booster' we rented. The line was ridiculously long. If you have a show like the lion king where you know you'll have a lot of kids, you should have a better system in place for returns.
I guess all the hype made me expect more. The costumes were amazing but the performance dragged in places and lacked energy. I not only was bored, I was drowsy. I wanted very badly to love it but honestly didn't. The first scene gave goosebumps and it was all downhill from there.
What a great show! I was very impressed with the props, costumes, and the acting. They really did a great job of highlighting and presenting the important parts of the movie.
My grandson loved it. He was so excited wtih all the animals coming to life. This is one event he will never forget.
I had a wonderful time! There was not a dull moment! I laughed and was truly in awe of all the costumes, lights, singing, and acting!

I saw The Lion King in New York State several years ago. This performance was equal to Broadway! !
