BRANDI CARLILE IN CONCERT:
Alt-country sweetheart Brandi Carlile has crowned Billboard's Top Folk Albums chart twice since her 2005 debut, and it's easy to see why as she performs her heart-rending tunes in concert. Carlile is a world-class belter, and the perfect way her voice cracks when she goes big makes visceral tunes like "The Story" and "The Eye" all the more powerful. Country and folk are squarely in her wheelhouse, but she also dabbles in styles as diverse as rock, R&B, and blues, making for a dynamic concert experience anchored by her elegant songwriting and emotive voice. Whether she's performing songs from 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter or making jaws drop with her soaring cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", Carlile never fails to impress ticket buyers with her poise, gorgeous voice, and good-natured stage presence.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brandi Carlile was born and raised in rural Washington state, where she began performing with her mother and brother at age eight. She taught herself to play guitar, and by her teens she was penning her own songs and singing backup for an Elvis impersonator. By her twenties she was performing in Seattle's music scene with her twin brothers, and in 2004 she signed with Columbia Records. Her self-titled 2005 debut topped Billboard's Folk Albums chart, introducing fans to her powerful voice and heart-on-sleeve songwriting. She teamed up with legendary producer T Bone Burnett for her 2007 sophomore album The Story, with stellar results -- the album peaked at No. 10 on the rock charts and scored a breakthrough hit with its title track. Since then Carlile has toured extensively and released four more acclaimed albums including 2011's Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony and 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter.

This was a special concert—many special guests including Annie Lennox and Joni Mitchell. Sounds amazing, right?! It was! The best part: Brandi Carlile sharing her talent and love for music with all of us at the Hollywood Bowl. She did mix up the Twins’ names, which apparently was a first, which was funny and showed her nerves perhaps. She knew the show was a big deal and we were all enchanted!
What a night! The vibes were great, Hollywood Bowl was beautiful as usual, but Brandi was on fire! Her voice live, is just as good as any studio perfection. My husband really enjoyed himself as well. All her guest performers were also fantastic but to get Joni Mitchell…it was….so special.
What a magical night at Hollywood Bowl with Brandi! She never disappoints and this night was extra special with friends, Annie Lennox and Joni Mitchell, making appearances! Loved every minute of this night of music with so many music icons. Love Brandi Carlile for all she is and gives back as an artist. Forever a fan.
Brandi Carlile is a dream. She's gracious and cool and honest and aware. It would have been enough to see just her in concert...I've been waiting for 20 years! But then, she brought out so many other acts...Lucius, Allison Russell, Blake Mills, Wendy and Lisa, Sister Strings, ANNIE LENNOX and JONI FREAKING MITCHELL! This was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I will be grateful for it for the rest of my life.

I have seen Brandi Carlile in concert 27 times, and I have NEVER been disappointed. Each time is a new experience that continually blows my mind. This show was so special and I am grateful that I got to go and be a part of it. If you haven’t seen her, please do your musical soul a favor and go experience Brandi live.🤘

I loved that the show started close the published time of 7:00 pm. By 7:45 pm the lights were down, and Brandi was on stage. I noticed that it was billed Brandi and Friends and I had hoped that her friends included Joni Mitchell. My wildest dreams came true. It was a wonderful evening to hear Annie Lennox and the legend Joni Mitchell on stage.
This venue is amazing. We were sitting pretty high up and you could still hear everything crystal clear. You’re literally in a bowl so the sound quality is beautiful. Only con I would say was the parking situation. We didn’t get parking passes so we had to park a 20-minute walk away from the venue. But honestly, walking that 20 minutes is the way to go. If you park in the venue, you will be sandwiched in and have a hard time getting out at the end of the night… especially for a sold-out show like this one.
Brandi Carlyle is not only a consummate performer but exudes sincerity and warmth within her and for her audience. Add to that a phenomenal music experience unlike anything that I have experienced in years and for me, it was truly........other worldly. Annie Lenox took my breath away with her performance and seeing Joni Mitchell ..... last seen by me 40plus years ago at Dorthy Chandler Pavillion........left my heart full.

This event was fabulous !! How could you not enjoy the beautiful music by all the beautiful, talented and loving humans. Everyone in the audience was respectful and happy . Just a lovely evening.❤️❤️❤️

One of the best concerts that I have attended!! Annie Lennox was a treat. Joni Mitchell’s presence and singing: speechless. Brandi Carlile was the bomb. Love her generosity and music.
A warmth that felt very real. Brandi is probably the most generous performer I’ve ever seen. Music was perfect for me and my wife. It did have a Laurel Canyon vibe. Songs were meaningful, poignant and fun. Teriffic show!💜
Brandi is above and beyond one of the greatest humans on this planet. Her songs cut through life like a knife. They lift you up and they make you feel deeply. I was grateful for her generosity in sharing her stage with other amazing women and a dream came true when she saved the best for last and I finally got to hear Joni Mitchell play my favorite song. True class act and an unforgettable evening.
Tagged along to the show with a friend. Her shuttle broke down in the way from Torrance but she made it just in time for Brandi to take the stage. Great guests. Annie Lennox??? Yes please. But had a bucket list moment when Joni Mitchell came out at the end. Everyone singing along to circle game was pure magic.
I thought the show was amazing and the secret/ special guests were awesome. However, I went to see Brandi and just felt she could have done more of her songs which are in themselves amazing. Let’s go Brandi!!
