BRANDI CARLILE IN CONCERT:
Alt-country sweetheart Brandi Carlile has crowned Billboard's Top Folk Albums chart twice since her 2005 debut, and it's easy to see why as she performs her heart-rending tunes in concert. Carlile is a world-class belter, and the perfect way her voice cracks when she goes big makes visceral tunes like "The Story" and "The Eye" all the more powerful. Country and folk are squarely in her wheelhouse, but she also dabbles in styles as diverse as rock, R&B, and blues, making for a dynamic concert experience anchored by her elegant songwriting and emotive voice. Whether she's performing songs from 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter or making jaws drop with her soaring cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", Carlile never fails to impress ticket buyers with her poise, gorgeous voice, and good-natured stage presence.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brandi Carlile was born and raised in rural Washington state, where she began performing with her mother and brother at age eight. She taught herself to play guitar, and by her teens she was penning her own songs and singing backup for an Elvis impersonator. By her twenties she was performing in Seattle's music scene with her twin brothers, and in 2004 she signed with Columbia Records. Her self-titled 2005 debut topped Billboard's Folk Albums chart, introducing fans to her powerful voice and heart-on-sleeve songwriting. She teamed up with legendary producer T Bone Burnett for her 2007 sophomore album The Story, with stellar results -- the album peaked at No. 10 on the rock charts and scored a breakthrough hit with its title track. Since then Carlile has toured extensively and released four more acclaimed albums including 2011's Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony and 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter.

I will always always go see Brandi!!!! Thompson’s point is one of my favorite venues to see a great show. Did not disappoint!! I’ll see you next summer!
She is an awesome performer. Great show. However I will not be attending future concerts at Thompson Point. It’s too chaotic and inconvenient. Parking is ridiculous and seating is useless. Chairs were disallowed early and even those with chairs would have had no visibility.
Epic performance at a great venue. Good food, decent parking (if you know where to find it), and a great website explaining it all.
This show was UNFATHOMABLY GOOD. Brandi's talent, stories, and goofiness make you feel like you're simultaneously sitting around a campfire with your best friends and at the best rock concert of all time. Not to mention, the crowd she draws is exceptionally kind. I was surrounded by older fans who had seen her a bunch. They were all so excited for me, and it made the whole night even better. This was truly the best concert experience I've ever had.
Bought tickets early in year, online. Have been anticipating since then. Mom died in May (at my home). My husband has pancreatic cancer. This concert was my lifeline. I went with my 25 year old daughter and her roommate. It was completely amazing. Magical voice. Perfect, beautiful outdoor venue. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for bringing light back into my life. And if that wasn't cool enough, Brandi was on the Plaza for the Today Show on Friday. Same stage. Felt like I was back.
This concert was truly fabulous. To see Indigo Girls together with Brandi was just an unforgettable night. I loved every minute of the music!! Which is why… my only complaint was the lines at the food trucks. Absolutely horrendous!! There should have been twice as many trucks there for a sold out concert!! We got in line as soon as the Indigo Girls finished. Went for burgers bc that line was moving pretty quickly and we STILL missed Brandi’s first three songs!! Grrrr. I love the venue but there’s definitely room for improvement!
Amazing concert with the Indigo Girls opening and even playing together with Brandi for a couple of the five encores. I’d go again tomorrow. The venue on the waterfront in Portland was delightful.
It would have been nice to know before the concert that there was minimal chair space available. It was not known before purchasing the tickets that it was a major issue. The outcome was having to stand more then 4 hours or sit on a blanket on a gravel surface. The concert was excellent. Brandi and her band were, again, superb. She is one of the best singers of her generation.
The venuecwas beautiful but no place to sit othercthan way back. Portolets only on one side of the venue.
This is the worst venue. No clear instructions, no parking, no chairs allowed. Only place to sit down is in the middle of food truck lines. Events are always oversold way more tickets in that place can accommodate absolutely the worst venue to ever hold a concert
Brandi’s voice is just incredible! Her range is vast and her tone is rich. She’s a gracious entertainer, too! She shows her band members and her fans the love ❤️
Brandi was amazing! I don’t like the Thompson point setup. Low chairs should be able to be in front with standing in the back or on the sides. I am 70 yo so standing in front for 5 hours was very uncomfortable. Please reconsider the set up. Will likely not attend this venue in future. I am willing to pay more to be able to sit in front.
Incredible experience! Inspirational, energetic, sooo much talent/skill/grace/chutzpah! We’ve been waiting a long time for this. Thank you.
Brandi’s voice is even better live which is hard to believe! Her poetic lyrics and amazing vocals coupled with the twins’ incredible talents make such a good show!! So, so, so good!!
I was able so see her perform at Gorge! And it was amazing! Her team are so nice and friendly! One of my favorite concerts!
Brandi and her band are just so amazing! What an experience - my second time seeing her.
Concert itself was amaze balls! Everyone on that stage gave their all and put on a fantastic show. My seat was obstructed a bit and it would have been nice to know ahead of time. I would have picked a different section. The individuals next to me were also clearly over-served and kept bumping in to me, talking over the music and just made the event less pleasant. They detracted from the experience. Yet they kept getting more alcohol. I cannot fathom how anyone thought giving them more alcohol was a good idea as they could be heard on the concourse being loud as well. It truly made the entire experience less pleasant. People around us finally told them to shut up at one point so we could hear the music. Again, the music was incredible, but please don’t over-serve people so they make the experience horrible for others.
The venue is terrific. The drinks are highway robbery. The opening acts are too long. BUT Brandi and her colleagues were standouts. The show was smooth but breathtaking. The music was beautiful, the showmanship exquisite, the energy great. The audience was decent, most people kind and not singing too much, and it was only my second type of big show. I saw the Dixie chicks some years ago. It was a great evening. Thanks for asking!
Took my 14 year old granddaughter. It was a nice evening for August. It had been 8 years since my last Merriweather visit and my how things have changed. We sat in the sky lawn and we had a great view. I got use to all the changes. Wish she could have seen it back in the day. Brandi and the band were so awesome. Her storytelling is as good as her songs. Magical evening. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
