BRANDI CARLILE IN CONCERT:
Alt-country sweetheart Brandi Carlile has crowned Billboard's Top Folk Albums chart twice since her 2005 debut, and it's easy to see why as she performs her heart-rending tunes in concert. Carlile is a world-class belter, and the perfect way her voice cracks when she goes big makes visceral tunes like "The Story" and "The Eye" all the more powerful. Country and folk are squarely in her wheelhouse, but she also dabbles in styles as diverse as rock, R&B, and blues, making for a dynamic concert experience anchored by her elegant songwriting and emotive voice. Whether she's performing songs from 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter or making jaws drop with her soaring cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", Carlile never fails to impress ticket buyers with her poise, gorgeous voice, and good-natured stage presence.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brandi Carlile was born and raised in rural Washington state, where she began performing with her mother and brother at age eight. She taught herself to play guitar, and by her teens she was penning her own songs and singing backup for an Elvis impersonator. By her twenties she was performing in Seattle's music scene with her twin brothers, and in 2004 she signed with Columbia Records. Her self-titled 2005 debut topped Billboard's Folk Albums chart, introducing fans to her powerful voice and heart-on-sleeve songwriting. She teamed up with legendary producer T Bone Burnett for her 2007 sophomore album The Story, with stellar results -- the album peaked at No. 10 on the rock charts and scored a breakthrough hit with its title track. Since then Carlile has toured extensively and released four more acclaimed albums including 2011's Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony and 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter.

Brandi is always spectacular. KT Tunstall was terrific and should be seen more. The balloon drop was a delightful experience. The venue was perfect
Brandi, Tim, Phil and the rest of their team put on the best show! The music was unbelievable. The best thing is the energy and enthusiasm they all have for performing. They have a great time and it shows, really fun to watch!! Best concert!!
Great NYE show! My only note is about the balloon drop. A fun effect, but people quickly started popping them and it was a huge noisy distraction. I don’t blame folks for popping them. There were so many all over the floors and seats, I’m sure they were getting in people’s way. But the sound of thousands of popping balloons in a big dark arena at night is anxiety-inducing. It really shifted the mood. Even Brandi was annoyed. Do recycled paper confetti next year!
Excellent concert! We had the best time ever. It was also the best NYE party we could have hoped for.
I’ve seen Brandi before a couple of years ago in a much more private venue. My expectations were high and BOY did she exceed them. She was absolutely PHENOMENAL. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. If you have not yet seen her, GO, RUN… Shes such an amazing performer.
Amazing show, Brandi Always comes out Shining! The best way to bring in 2023 sharing with Brandi
KT Tunstall got the crowd rocking for the main event, she's is an energetic natural performer, with great muscianship. And set the tone. I am not the biggest Brandi Carlile fan, but her performance was so much fun, and so varied, and her band is so talented, you just can't help being glad you are there. High energy and filled with joy.
This was my first Brandi Carlile show, and it was a great first experience. She embraced the New Year’s Eve Party theme without abandoning the songs and top-notch performance that made her who she is. The show was a mix of her music and covers, bringing in her opener, KT Tunstall and the ladies of Slater Kinney to rock in the new year with height energy versions of songs by famous women. The best part of the night (and a hunk of the next morning), was that she connected with the audience constantly. She talked to us instead of at us and made us part of the experience. Although this was not the normal show, it gave me a great glimpse of what first-class performers Brandi and her whole band and supporting players are. Don’t miss a chance to see her!
The show was amazing, she played until 1:45 AM. Best New Year’s Eve party I’ve ever been to.
I wish this venue didn’t need to use a plastic cup for every drink. I offered not to use a cup for my beer and was told I couldn’t, and then when I went to get a refill, the bartender threw away my cup and said I needed a new one, I guess for health reasons, but he put both of his fingers in the glass when he took it away, which isn’t sanitary anyway. I wish we could at least have be option to be better for the environment!
I loved the Brandi Carlile show at the Garden! It was amazing and can't wait to do it again when she comes around! She is the best!
Absolutely hands down the BEST concert by anyone that we have ever seen! We will travel anytime to see her again!
Brandi has proven herself to be that rare mix of humility, humor and incredible musical talent. Her shows are INCREDIBLE. I've been many times and I think each concert is better than the previous one. Her voice somehow keeps getting better and better. She also TRULY wants to help other women -- especially LGTBQ+ performers and women of color -- in the music industry. She is the absolute embodiment of turn around on your way up and help the next person behind you. She had Brittany Howard open for her. She invited a rockin' female guitar player on stage for a couple of songs and sang her praises. She brought out Brittany Howard to perform a song or two WITH her. And then she brought out Allison Russel to perform another two songs with her. The show was SO GOOD that I couldn't stop smiling for hours. Oh, and my wife and I flew to Boston because we weren't able to attend Brandi's show in our hometown of Baltimore. It was, per the usual, absolutely worth it!
I haven’t been to a concert in a long time that was so mesmerizing, that touched my soul. Brandi, her band and Brittany are amazing people and musicians. They are truly authentic and inspirational.
Brandi Carlile put on an outstanding show. She played over 20 songs and played multiple instruments. A great storyteller and performer. We would definitely see her again!
Show was amazing! Great show quality. Seats are pretty small and uncomfortable.
Brandi Carlile is always spectacular. Epic voice, emotional lyrics and a rocking good time. But Friday night’s TD Garden was magical. She is next level talent who brought lots of amazing people with her and she showcased each person to perfection. It was night I will never forget.
Brandi was humble. Her voice was in point. Excellent concert!
I first saw Brandi and the Twins many years ago at the tiny Sanders Theatre on the Harvard campus in Cambridge. The place was so small that Brandi decided that they didn’t need to amplify their instruments or voices,, which made the concert unique and amazing. I saw her next at the larger, but still not very big Orpheum Theatre in Boston, where we continued to be in awe of her guitar work, her piano playing and, of course her one-of-a-kind wonderful voice. Last week at the TD Garden in Boston, the massive venue where the Celtics and Bruins play, clearly excited Brandi (and she told us so), but the enormity of the venue didn’t negatively impact her effervescent personality and energy, her piano or guitar playing, her ability to share the stage and make her fellow musicians and guest artists feel like family, nor did it diminish the significance and meaning of her songs and the songs of others that she chose to perform. We all were privileged to have been there, and look forward to joining her when she returns to the Boston area again.
