About

Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album.

    New Band Members?

by Tom on 10/11/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I've seen Bonnie 3 times and she is always outstanding, a total pro. I was really heartened to see the audience's overwhelming response to Angel from Montgomery. At the outset she said she wanted to introduce some new band members. I didn't think too much about it but as the evening went on the lead guitar was only adequate and the keyboard player seemed to get lost. His piano solos sometimes amounted to pounding on the keys. I've seen a lot of concerts at the Chicago theatre and the acoustics are wonderful. For this performance there was excessive echo. Seemed like they were set up for a large venue. It was a great show overall, I would definately recommend.

    Great Show

by Old Rebel on 10/11/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

The concert was great. Bonnie Raitt was in great form. Her voice is still as good as ever. She has not lost a bit of her range and her expression. The band was great as well, supporting her voice every step of the way.

    Great show!

by Dan F on 10/11/23The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Bonnie was great as always! Band was super tight. And of course the theater is beautiful (though you could improve the beer selection a little- a minor quibble)

    Exceeded expectations

by JC on 10/11/23Massey Hall - Toronto

Enjoyed ourselves beyond the high bar we set. We are not regular concert goers, I don't like crowds. First class start to finish. I am now in love with a 73 year old woman.

    Loved Bonnie Raitt

by Elaine on 10/10/23Massey Hall - Toronto

However, I was not expecting an opening act. This information should have been provided more prominently so that I could have chosen to arrive at 9pm instead of 8pm. I mean no disrespect to Mr. Wood, but I never heard of him and would have chosen to not attend his performance.

    Truly and magnificent concert!

by JA Lamb on 10/9/23Massey Hall - Toronto

It was a magnificent concert and felt like an intimate gathering even though every seat was taken at the Magnificent Massey Hall. Third balcony still allowed me to hear her voice as if she was right in front of me. I could hear and see her clearly. Strong, beautiful voice! Great sense of humour. Her band is tops. I do hope I get a chance to see her again, sooner rather than later!

    GOAT

by golfmama on 10/9/23Massey Hall - Toronto

It was 50 years ago I first saw Bonnie Raitt (with Jackson Browne) at Massey Hall and many times in between. It's only better and better each time. Royal Wood was a big bonus. I'll savour this concert for a very long time. Unless the next tour....

My third time over the years

by Bruce on 10/9/23Massey Hall - Toronto

I wondered if Bonnie’s voice and energy would hold up. Shame on me. My other concerts were in Georgia and the crowds did not compare to the event at Massey Hall. The screaming standup welcome set Bonnie’s tone for a fabulous concert. Familiar hits, album cuts, songs she just felt like performing, a great band with a fabulous keyboard player from Winnipeg, Glenn Patscha. Bonnie’s voice was never better. She had the energy of half her age perhaps helped by 3000 people who were with her at every step. What a lovely person, musician, singer, performer and show woman. A concert to never forget.

    Disappointment

by Jason K on 10/9/23Massey Hall - Toronto

I was sold standing seats with no visible warning that that was what I was buying. And once we got to our "seats"(which were not cheap btw) we found that they offered a very poor vantage point and sound for the show. We left during the first song of the opening act. Those tickets should not be sold, and if they are there should be multiple warnings offered the buyer.

Undoubtedly one of the best concerts ever!

by Quinn on 10/4/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Total class and exceptional performance. Ms. Raitt and her "band of brothers"had me enthralled, grooving, crying and laughing throughout the evening. Bonnie's engagement with us, completely impressive how tuned in she is to the group she's entertaining. Does her research into the local scene. What a lovely example of being a "Lady"! The only other thing I could say was to bring her back!

Concert Great - Some Fans not so

by JAKO on 10/3/23Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

People, when attending concerts, please do not enter your seats during a song. Wait until song is over like at a Jets game. Also, if you cant hold your liquor, and have to get up during the performance, dont drink so much.
