About

Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album.

  • Uplifting, great vibes and fabulous music

by Otis on 9/18/25The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Bonnie Raitt at 75 has so much wisdom and love in her heart for everyone. She is a great storyteller, great slide guitar playing and wonderful voice. I've loved her for decades and finally was blessed to see her. I hope she keeps performing longer than Mavis Staples who she deservedly lauded all night. Can't wait to see her again as she does not show any sign of slowing down.

  • Never a disappointment!

by Terry on 9/17/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Bonnie performed nearly everything you would have expected her to play, and the encore with Jimmy Vaughn was incredible.

  • Forget the warm up

by Billy on 9/17/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

It was one of the best shows I have seen from her in quite a while, absolutely great back up band

  • She still has it

by Ken on 9/17/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Her voice was pretty strong given her age. She got a little raspy in her encore with Jimmy Vaughn. She did a lot of her hit songs, but also several other less known songs. She did two John Prine songs, which surprised me. Overall good mixture of different songs and styles. Some great slide guitar. Band was good as well. She seemed to really enjoy the enthusiastic audience.

  • Great show

by Schwank on 9/17/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Jimmy Vaughn was very good, Bonnie was a very genuine person who interacted with the crowd frequently. Her band was great. I have never seen her before and was impressed. Her voice is still strong.

  • Bonnie

by omecabs on 9/17/25The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

We've seen Bonnie many times over the years and this time did not disappoint! It seemed to be more bluezy because Mavis Staple was back stage, or because Jimmy Vaughn and his band also performed. But she rocked it!

  • Awesome evening

by Kristen G on 9/16/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

My best friend and I had a blast at the concert. I am not familiar with the opening band, but they rocked. Bonnie Raitt was amazing. I've never gotten to see her live before. There was a wonderful mix of her music from all different time periods. She sounded wonderful.

  • Let people out! You're causing a possible Stampede situation

by RC on 9/16/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was excellent except when leaving the Fox Theater. Open the damn doors up! Let us out! There's absolutely no reason on a beautiful evening why you can't open up the doors on the side and let all the people get out. And then you make your workers have to stop people from leaving.

  • Fantastic concert

by JP on 9/16/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

  • Great Performances By Bonnie And Jimmy

by Ray L on 9/16/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The Fox Theatre in Detroit is an amazing venue. A return to what theaters were. A refreshing change from cold, impersonal ball parks that have huge acts, but no intimacy. The artists try, but Bonnie Raitt and Jimmy Vaughn had the benefit of a warm venue. Both artists were spectacular. Bonnie still has the voice, and slide guitar chops that has made her an icon. Jimmy Vaughn carried on the blues genre, that he and his brother are soo famous for. Let's kick in a large applause for these two folks who are still performing at the highest levels, while in their 70's. That is a god given gift. Time takes it's toll, but these two have managed to retain their chops. Ticketmaster made the the purchase process easy. Reasonable prices. The entry to the show was slick and simple. Parking is always part of the experience. Ticketmaster made that easy too. This is not part of the Ticketmaster process, but might be worth mentioning. We stopped and had a meal at a local restaurant (Hockey Town). Fabulous. I'm 73, played fulltime in many bands. I understand the sincerity and amount of effort that all the artists, Bonnie, Jimmy, and all the fantastic backup musicians, gave for a marvelous night of entertainment. Thanks Ticketmaster

  • Incredible show

by Cindy on 9/16/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible show. Staff was great, sound was great, loved my seat. Some issues with beverages (liquor) working at most of the ports when venue opened but the staff addressed it and worked on plan B to resolve.

  • Bonnie Raitt is a Powerhouse!

by Leann on 9/16/25Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Bonnie Raitt and Jimmy Vaughn and the Tilt--Whirl Band put on an exceptional concert. Bonnie has so many, many impactful songs. We could have stayed for hours more and I'm guessing Bonnie would have been up to the task. Her strength and enthusiasm had all of Detroit feeling young and vibrant just like her. Thank you Bonnie and Jimmy Vaughn for a special night.
