  • Beach road

Nicely organized event with excellent music and vendors. Great location on MV !

  • Greatest Lineup Ever

by Brian Milwaukee on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

Whoever curated the acts is my hero forever. Fantastic experience. Great food vendors, plenty of space. The bass was a little loud (for my taste) and there were some hiccups Saturday because of rain on Friday night but, the staff really kept the ship steered.

  • Great lineup. Sound could have been better

by Mojo on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

Wow! Great lineup and good vibes all weekend long. Almost all of the staff and workers were super friendly and helpful. And a few were not. Can’t complain about the shuttles since they made huge improvements as the weekend went on. Special thanks to the two smiley women holding bus signs on our way out Sunday. Only negative was the sound. Some acts got better during their set, but so many bands that feature guitars and other strings left me straining to hear guitar and vocals. Hope they’re able to learn lessons from this year because it was a great fest.

  • Great time at beach road!

by Mel on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

Logistics were super easy. The event was really well organized. It wasn’t nearly as crowded as I expected. Drinks and food were easy to get. I’d like to return for the following years!

  • Exceeded expectations!

by Maryann D on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

We stayed at a friend’s house in VH from Thursday to Monday. Super easy to get to the venue! Friday was really hot so wanted to take a break and go back to the house but had to wait in line for 20 minutes in the re-entry line to have our tix scanned. BRW smartened up and stamped hands the next day for re-entry. Tix were expensive but the lineup was really incredible and well worth the price. At times, like when Shovels and Rope played, the bass was way too loud and Cary Ann’s mic wasn’t working right. Loved the big screens and the shady areas. The side by side stages was genius - no waiting for the next band to set up and warm up. Also genius was banning high chairs and umbrellas. Wish other venues would do both of those things Food and drink vendors were a great mix. Hydration stations were numerous. The merch vendors were ok but I didn’t go to the concert to shop. Really great job BRW. Hope to be back next year!

  • So Well Done!

by Bt. Weatherford on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

I have a place on island and am here May - October each year. The BRW was so well done!! Well organized, great staff and volunteers, flawless execution, great shuttle services, food vendors, security, plenty of porta potties, an all around great experience! 2 negatives. The Sky Boxes in the center of the grounds. Like a pile of poo in the middle of the lawn - just not within the vibe of festival seating. The ones on the sides were fine - the middle one, not so much. Nothing against high dollar seating, jut not in the middle of the GA festival seating. Second, the dreadful graphics during the Bill Strings performance. It is terrible to obscure a great performance and great performer. I like Billy Strings (being a guitar player) and want to see a "performance" not a rehash of 60's and 70's "let me blow your mind" concert graphics. No more, please. I'll be back next year and will tell all of my friends back home. Thank you for all your efforts!!

  • B plus

by VIP fester on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

Great lineup, great stage production, overall organization good. A few glitches that they will fix next year - departure shuttles were a cluster freak, general staff pretty clueless, sound mix was horrible at times. VIP experience mixed: Seriously over sold, not enough room, needed to move back the barriers in front 10 feet, could not move from one side to the other without a 10 minute walk around the entire venue perimeter. But, the professional VIP event staff were top notch, drinks well poured, food acceptable, bathrooms clean and plentiful, so there’s that.

  • Honestly Won't Be Back

by Festival4Life on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 2 out of 5

THE GOOD: small venue, stages right next to each other, good selection of beer & food, nice vendors, small crowd, easy entry, super-friendly staff! THE BAD: This festival is complicated unless you have the $$$$$$ to throw down for digs on the island, which are limited given this festival is scheduled in peak summer season. $450 for a 3-day ticket given the number of bands compared to other festivals is quite steep. The ferry schedules are inefficient given the timing of the festival each day and number of people traveling to/from the mainland (and not only festival attendees). Due to parking restrictions on the mainland, we had to leave our accommodations in Falmouth 2 hours and 15 minutes before we wanted to be inside the grounds. Each night after, it took us 2 hours and 45 minutes to get back. This was nuts! Our place was only a 15-min drive from the Woods Hole ferry. THE AUDIENCE WAS THE WORST I'VE EXPERIENCED EVER. (and my festival days started in 2004) I felt terrible for the musicians -- so many people being so disrespectful (primarily 20-something douchey males yelling disrespectful things at the bands, singing made up lyrics loudly to be obnoxious, and talking intentionally loud when an artist decided to play a slower song...if you asked them politely to lower their voices or stop bumping into people, their behavior intensified)...and 50-something Trumpers needing to make their unpopular voices heard if a band mentioned raising money for a cause like voter registration (thank you again, Jason Isbell and band for your efforts - we will see you again at a better experience!). LIGHTHOUSE STAGE SOUND WAS BAD The sound for the Avett Brothers was insulting to the band. How does that happen? How does the sound crew not fix it once realized? People in the audience were yelling for the mics of Scott, Joe and Elizabeth to be turned up, and they never were. This definitely put a little damper on the show, and, again, I feel bad for the band - a *headliner* nonetheless. We noticed the same off and on for bands playing that stage Friday and Sunday. MARTHA'S VINEYARD OUTSIDE THE FESTIVAL Why do people even pay for this? The food is mediocre, the prices are insane ($20 for guacamole, are you kidding me????), the wait times are excessive, and ferries do not run often enough for "high season." So many lessons learned, but the biggest was that we will not be adding this one to our festival circuit again in the future.

  • Some great bands

by Ben on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 3 out of 5

Some good bands made up for a subpar festival experience - the shuttles were overpriced and unreliable, the sound mixing at the venue was consistently off (bass was cranked to 11 for every performance). The emphasis on quick switching between bands meant that the first song (and often the second and third) were a sound check experience. A simple rainstorm during off hours threw the schedule off for the next day with no announcement unless you managed to check the website. Great bands can bail you out of some terrible planning but I won’t return next year without some commitments to changes.

  • Mostly Great, a few tweaks could make it better

by uwleahsara on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

Music--great; people--great; food--great! Some inefficiencies that I think could've been handled differently, like recycling, unnecessary printing of program books considering how easily the lineup changes, printing envelopes for shuttle passes, having plastic shuttle passes (bracelets would work?). It's clear to me that the organizers tried to think of everything, but some things are just not necessary and a waste of time and resources. Can't wait for 2023!

  • Best music festival

by A on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish the line up and weekend was awesome

  • Outstanding

by Colleen on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely incredible music. Good vibes! Great weather! Perfectly planned out event. Kudos to all planners and behind the scenes folks that made this event work! To the people of Martha’s Vineyard - You are extremely gracious and welcoming!!

  • Great musicians, mediocre execution

by Laura on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 3 out of 5

Lineup was fantastic and the bands that were able to play really delivered. Extremely poor communication from the festival around important details like shuttle transportation and gate opening and lineup changes. Quality of sound was so-so and had to be adjusted during multiple acts.

  • Great lineup, but definitely some growing pains

by Annika on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 3 out of 5

The festival had a stacked lineup with some truly awesome acts, but there was definitely room for improvement when it came to logistics. It would have been nice to have breaks between sets - it felt like there was barely time to walk from one stage to the next before one act finished and the next started (let alone grab food, go to the bathroom, etc). It seemed like the artists often felt rushed as well. It would have been better to have 1-2 fewer acts a day in order to give everyone some more breathing room. The tickets rarely scanned, wristbands would have been more effective.

  • Great weekend!

by Phil on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

The festival itself was enjoyable - great food/drink options, merch, sound quality and of course it was a great line up. The venue is too small, however, and doesn’t have any Martha’s Vineyard qualities that add value to the experience. This venue is a small field that could have been located anywhere, so why go through the hassle of traveling to MV to use this venue? It preferably would be held in a beach setting or at least in a larger venue that could better cater to a shuttle/park travel option. That being said the double stage set up was really well done save a few sound issues, but overall it was a great experience.

  • Really well run!

by Sandy on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

Everything ran on time and was extremely well organized! Great bands and a wonderful weekend

  • Awesome Bill

by Critter on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

What a great weekend of music. Three dynamite headliners!

  • Pretty good time!

by Live music Wendy on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

Things that went well: the music/lineup, timing of sets for no downtime, the A/V set up so that no matter where your were you had a view, the shade tents, the efficient hydration stations, the port o potties (cleanest I've ever seen!), the early schedule with options for a late night at the Loft, flying into Boston bus to Woods Hole ferry to MVY and on island lodging, MVY public bus was super efficient. Things to improve: food and drink prices were ridiculous inside venue ($18 for a low alcohol content canned cocktail!!) and at most places on the island, logistics getting in on Saturday, crowd was incredibly talkative and really distracted from listening to the music (more like a social gathering for lots of folks?), add a second entrance on the opposite side to eliminate walking all the way around, misters would have been nice to help with the heat.

  • Amazing weekend

by RM on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about the weekend was great. Very organized with great turn times between acts. I was sitting in the ADA section each day. I am handicapped and everyone was super nice. I would suggest that if you do this again that the section is somehow shaded (or partially shaded?) I am easily dehydrated and cannot drink fluids like everyone else due to a health condition so any shade would have helped. Was also hoping for a golf cart ride or a wheelchair borrow availability..? I can walk (with a cane) but it's a struggle with lots of people and a quick ride would have been phenomenal. Overall, it was fantastic, I am already hoping you announce for next year. Vendors were great, staff well informed and helpful! Thank you!

  • All great bands playing for three days!
