  • Beach road concert MVY

by Nancy on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

We had a wonderful time. The concert, with it's two stages, was a blast with no waiting between bands. One complaint..... They needed more shaded areas. A few more shade tent covers would have been nice.

  • Amazing Experience

Wow! What a great festival. Well organized, great food and incredible musicians. My family had a blast! Thank you:)

  • the times they are a changin’

by Tricky Ricky on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

-so glad the Island Yankee Bureaucrats took a chance on the music festival! It really puts Vineyard Haven on the map as a “drive to” town rather than a try to “drive through” town. The organization was great! As a taxpayer of Vineyard Haven, I felt safe and high all at the same time! I hope this continues-and even goes later, and a bit louder in the future. Thanks for coming to my town, working so hard, and making it happen!

  • Excellent with a few opportunities to improve

by Festival Phil on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

The great: Locale, staff, crowd, lineup, sight lines, sound (with exceptions), viewing options (two large screens on at the back of the venue on both sides with speakers), GA+ oasis. We had a ton of fun, were able to get close to bands we liked and appreciated the oasis for its shade, ample water supply and AC bathrooms. Everyone was super nice and it was a friendly vibe. Festival organizers pivoted well when a downpour the first night required a schedule change (we lost the morning lineup entirely for day 2). The not so great: Sound snafus intermittently and on third day—Emylou Harris’ mic was barely working. Video screens sometimes stopped working Food lines were impossibly long and slow Website said wifi and GA+ express access were available but were not in evidence nor mentioned Need more sunshades—it was blazing hot No diversity—white bands+white crowd = white people festival. Let’s aim for some more diverse performers next year. Insider tips If you want food after the show the pickings are slim. Best advised to order in advance. We ordered burritos online in the morning for 8:10 pm pickup. There is pizza and Thai as well but that’s about it. Verizon service in the venue is terrible but friends with AT&T were fine We stayed in Woods Hole and ferried over and back each day. Worked like a charm and Woods Hole is a quaint little town

  • Awesome time at Beach Road Weekend

Such an amazing lineup, hope it becomes a Vineyard tradition!

  • Nice event!

by LG on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 3 out of 5

Ran out of branded chairs but wouldnt allow others to bring in chairs of the same height or lower. Pls change this policy! For this large a crowd, might be better to have more food options. Water stations were great! Plenty of potties. As a parent, being able to use handicapped larger bathrooms with my kid was clutch! I heard shuttle situation was disorganized.

  • Good when it was good; bad when it was bad

by Sarah on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 3 out of 5

They cut so many bands on Saturday because it rained and the staff had not prepared. So many of us traveled to see these bands and to cut HALF of one day due to weather was disappointing. I paid $90 for parking and never received my parking pass Staff allowed so many items in the first day - chairs, water bottles, snacks, etc - then changed their tune the 2nd day and would not allow anything in Lack of local vendors or food was disappointing as well The sound system was sadly trash, the artists almost always mentioned it (when we could even hear them) Pro: some great bands were there

  • A real good time

by PortHunter on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

No issues. Music was good, I thought the sound for the most part was fine. The TV screens went out a lot but that’s not a big deal. All the workers were friendly, lines were manageable. We stayed on the island so we didn’t have shuttle or ferry issues. I’d give it A-.

  • Great Lineup, Not Family Friendly

by Chris on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 2 out of 5

We were looking forward to this show for more than a year, but from the very start it seemed to be doomed. The RV park on island booked up within 15 minutes of opening for reservations in January, and the cheapest hotel on the island was $1,200 per night. We ended up staying at a dive hotel on the cape and planned to spend the $70 per person round trip each day to get to MV and see the show. We ended up seeing 2 hours of music on Friday, before leaving to beat the weather and put my son to bed (A 2 HOUR COMMUTE). The event space was small and super crowded with no place to take a break from the music. Before you go thinking that we should have known better, we've been to a few other festivals in the 18 months since becoming parents and all have had quiet areas for kids to run around. Given the lineup, we expected a similar vibe. We showed up to MV at 10am on Saturday to find out the venue was flooded and shows had been canceled until we would have needed to leave anyway. Expecting a muddy mess, we didn't bother to return on Sunday.

  • Great Event !

by MLG on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

We attended all 3 days and had a great experience. We were a group of 12 or so and kept together and had a very special experience!

  • Great lineup - a handful of normal glitches

by PK on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

Beach Road was our first festival in several years, and it did not disappoint. Great lineups every day - saw old favorites and new (to me) bands. Running this festival on Martha's Vineyard is a real challenge. The infrastructure is not really geared to this size event, especially t the height of summer season. But by and large, it was successful. The event was not too crowded - bathrooms, food and drink were easy to access for most of the day. Transportation was a challenge. Lots of people staying off island and a crush at the busses. We were basically unable to use the bus passes we bought (goodbye to $200 for 4 of us). Fortunately, we were staying on the island with local friends, so we managed okay. If they do this again, and you are considering attending, look into accomodations first, and expect everything to be expensive. .

  • Pretty Good

by Stahls on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 4 out of 5

Music was great, especially Wilco and Jason Isbell. The venue is not ideal- when hot, it’s like being locked in a box of heat. Bus drivers were great, but never asked for shuttle passes we spent $160 on (for 3). The way stages are set up next to each other, we had to get there 6 hours and stand to wait for final band; usually they are separated in festivals so people move. Also, venue floods so second day was delayed a few hours. Vodka drinks good, but beer not good selections- food overpriced. MV is a great town and staff were very nice!

  • Mixed Experience

by The Captain on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 2 out of 5

Bands were of good quality, but sound was poor. On Saturday, they started late due to rain the night before, but we were already outside when we received notice. Long lines for food and beverage.

  • Complete waste of money...

by Zihuabound on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 1 out of 5

Great marketing team...complete miss on delivery of expectations set when purchasing a VIP ticket...$1,200 per person for all of these perks that never were delivered upon...complete waste of money, never again! Oversold, under delivered, complete bust...did I mention never again? Just in case...never again...complete ripoff! Save your money....

  • Almost Perfect

by P Dog on 8/29/22Veterans Memorial Park - Vineyard HavenRating: 5 out of 5

We maxed out and bought the SkyDeck- worth it! Great lineup. Loved the early ending as it allowed a great day but an option to end the night early without missing music. Only issues were minor- Needed more entrances and better marked VIP entrance options, especially if there is a delay in opening for the day. SkyDeck price should not allow for the private suites to take up room on the deck- we should have had the whole upstairs and downstairs viewing areas as seating/standing was tighter than it should be for that price. Put L-shape rail at the railing instead of a flat piece of wood so drinks won’t fall off accidentally. More tequila supply! We ran out with more than a full day to go. These are all small problems and minor tweaks as the festival overall was excellent.

  • Great music on an island

Small festival with big name acts in a vacation destination setting
