WICKED is a Tony-winning sensation that has been defying gravity and delighting Broadway audiences since 2003. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the fantastical prequel to The Wizard of Oz was nominated for 10 Tony Awards after it opened at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City, and won three, including Best Actress for Idina Menzel, who played the original Elphaba. The musical’s first national tour opened in 2005 and ever since, WICKED’s touring production has criss-crossed North America offering theatergoers one short day in the Emerald City filled with magic, music and the ”untold true story of the Witches of Oz.” The second national tour — known as the “Munchkinland Tour” — has been an open-ended production since 2009 and now stars Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda.

Awesome performance! 2nd time seeing Wicked and loved it as much as the 1st time! Will continue to see for many more years to come!
I love Wicked. This was my 5th time seeing it and it just gets better. I would recommend it to anyone. The music is fabulous. My very favorite show.
I enjoyed everything about the show...the cast, set/scenery, costumes, songs/music. It was amazing.
I have wanted to see Wicked from the moment it first came to Broadway as the Wizard of Oz has been my favorite movie of all time. But I knew it would never happen as I could never afford to go to NY to see it on Broadway. But thanks to the amazing DPAC my dream was made a reality. The show was perfect from the first moment the curtains raised. It’s funny and heart wrenching all at the same time. I’m not ashamed to say I cried like a baby multiple times while roaring with laughter at other times, and just enraptured with the cast and the singing!!
Phenomenal show! Highly recommend. The performers were outstanding.
Nothing but praise for the show Wicked. Great cast and set design. We absolutely loved the show!
Who does not love Wicked?? It was fabulous! DPAC is my favorite place to see shows, so easy to get in and out of Durham/DPAC and the facility is wonderful. No matter where I sit it seems like a great seat!
It was every bit as entertaining and witty as I expected, and better! I had been hiding under a rock and hadn't had a chance. I was blown away by the cast, the stage design, the costumes, just all of it.
I have been wanting to see Wicked for YEARS and finally had the opportunity to attend the showing in Durham, NC on 1 September 2023. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time and was impressed at how smooth and effortless the set changes were! The show itself was one of my favorites I've seen.
This is the absolute best show I have ever seen on stage. The cast was amazing.
Outstanding performance. Great show. Really good experience. Staff at DPAC are very attentive to make sure you have a great experience
Story, singing, and acting were great; however, the orchestra overpowered the vocals for most of the show and made it very hard to understand what was being said (sung). If you already know the songs it’s not a big deal but if you don’t you will not understand most of it.
Colorful, extremely funny an overall a great experience.
Singing, spectacular sets and costumes, perfect sound level set this show apart. It was appropriate for all ages. We were part of a packed house and enjoyed every minute.
This was one of my favorite broadways I've been to. Really well put together, kept you captivated for almost 3 hours, the decorations and effects were well done, the twisted take on the original wizard of oz story was innovative and interesting and elaborate, but favorite part was the acting, the substitute actress who played Glinda absolutely killed it.
Wonderful show with talented performers. Highly recommended.
The best performance of the year!!!! Looking forward to it coming back to DPAC again
I have seen Wicked on Broadway, and this cast was just as good as the Broadway cast! Loved the subtle changes in the dialogue to elicit humor and the amazing special effects!
This is my third time seeing Wicked, once on Broadway and twice with the traveling Broadway series. Absolutely loved this week's performance and all the music, choreography, costumes & book that make this one of my abfab favorites! Don't miss it!
I cannot recommend seeing Wicked enough! A spectacular production. The actors were fantastic. The set design unbelievable! Seeing it is a must.
