GREAT show, lighting not so great

by DS on 2/3/24Radio City Music Hall - New York

Black Pumas performance was fantastic. However, lighting was not so great. They pointed straight into the audience so the band was shadowed, and the lights were blinding.

Loved the show. Both The Dip and Black Pumas were amazing. Salt Shed is becoming my favorite venue in Chicago.

    1st visit to SS

by Joe B on 1/31/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

Immediately fell in love with the venue. Playing music in the bathrooms is a fantastic touch. Kind of surprised Black Pumas didn't finish with "Colors", but they're the experts. Can't wait for my next Salt Shed experience especially checking out the outside portion.

    Goin to church

by Alvareazy on 1/31/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

Being the third night of their run at the Salt Shed I didn’t know what to expect. The Pumas however showed NO signs of fatigue! While I am not purposely a fanatic I suddenly realized I have seen this band 5 times in their relatively short career. This I will say was THE BEST performance I’ve seen from them. We were taken to church that night. The Salt Shed was a unique and VERY organized venue. We will gladly make the trek from Milwaukee often!

    Great Show!!!

by Dan F on 1/31/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

The show was outstanding. The Dip opened the show. I wasn't familiar with them prior, but they sounded great. Super tight neo-Soul type band with 3 horns. They've been together 10 years and it shows. Black Pumas were incredible! Great songs, great vocals, great playing! Sound for the show was very good. Overall I like the Salt Shed a lot, both indoors now and outdoors in the summer. One minor complaint was the lighting. Don't know if that was a function of the Black Pumas or The Salt Shed, but WAY too much of the time, instead of the lights facing the stage and illuminating it, they were coming from behind the stage into the face of the audience, basically blinding you until they moved them. I understand doing this once or twice in a show, but it was far more frequent than that and really made it difficult to look directly into them. The lighting director REALLY needs to reconsider this approach. But overall, a splendid show!

    Unhappy With The Shed

by Old Gal on 1/30/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

I hated the shed. We were so far away. And the concert started way too late. It felt like a waste of a date night and babysitter.

    Black Pumas Rocks!

by Mitch in the Kitch on 1/30/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

The Black Pumas delivered once again. They are so much better live and in person - total performers. Also The Dip who opened up were great as well. And The Salt Shed - what more can I say about this venue. If you have not been there yet please make the effort to go. Great sound, setup, lots of bars to grab a drink at, easy access.

Black pumas concert was an amazing experience. Not only is their music great but they can also entertain a crowd as well. The opener The Dip was great too. Would definitely recommend both bands.

    Fantastic, Electric Performance

by ReneeShhh on 1/29/24Radio City Music Hall - New York

Black Pumas puts on such a fantastic show! The music ... the stage production ... that voice! Eric Burton deserves to be heard - and seen - in person. He is the most watchable performer I have ever seen live in concert. He sings, dances, plays guitar and keyboard, and even jumps into the crowd and records a little of the song while on the stage - that is, if you're lucky enough to have have had him grab your phone. (Yes, he gives the phone back!) But I can go on and on about Burton who I describe as a modern-day Prince - but more relatable and IMHO better dressed (and some might add "more dressed"). But my applause was not just for the Black Pumas' front man and multi-talented singer: It goes to the entire band who has a down-to-earth yet funky vibe that makes this band so stunningly good. And I have to give it to co-founder and producer Adrian Quesada who had the good sense to put together this tight-sounding group of musicians. He recognizes talent and he also lets that talent shine. I would have loved to hear from Adrian at least once during the show. But he seems to me to be a true musician who doesn't want to hog the spotlight and is just there to play his music and enjoy the show from the stage. Looking forward to more shows in the future.

Venue more like a crowded noisy bar than a music venue

by AP on 1/29/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

The venue is a destination place for people who like to socialize and be seen at the most recent trendy place. I went to experience live music and had to leave because the comotion overpowered the musical performance. If you want to eat, drink and shop go to a music festival or the Salt Shed. If you want to experience a performance, don't go to the Salt Shed.

Black Pumas are an incredible band, and they’re even more incredible live. I will never forget this show for as long as I live. I can’t wait to see them again live.

    Awesome show

by Shannon on 1/28/24The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - Chicago

Great show at a great venue. The Black Pumas sounded just like they do on the radio. The Salt Shed acoustics were great. If you’re in the GA section and not over 6’ tall it’s hard to see the stage. But would definitely go back!
