The venue was great and Vicente's performance, his band included, was top notch. Definitely a night we will remember for the rest of our lives!
I loved every minute of this show. Watching him play elevates you to another world. He sounds like 3 men playing when it is just one. He is simply one of the finest flamenco guitarists you will ever hear. And to top it off he is from Cordoba - the most beautiful city in all of Spain!
This blew me away. It is amazing how Vicente writes his own songs in the style of Flamenco music but incorporates so many beautiful jazz chords and voicings as well as improvising incredibly musically with great technique and all the while retaining the flamenco guitar‘s history and characteristics. The band was amazing as well I really enjoyed the singer. There was a lot of emotion and passion in the music. I would definitely go again
The concert was absolutely amazing! In every aspect from little things parking, service, seating etc... to the main artist and the hall. Vicente Amigo and his feel on the guitar touched everyone in the hall at first moment he started playing, and the sound system, sound engineer, and The Soraya Hall is an amazing venue!! You will feel you are sitting in a studio! Thanks Vicente Amigo and thanks The Soraya Hall loved every second in the concert!
Our bad? Neither my husband or I had done any research on this artist or the evolution of (danceless) flamenco so we were left a little cold by this performance, especially the first piece that was a lengthy solo guitar improvisation that seemed to ramble incoherently through too-hot amplification in the room, showcasing a blistering technique without any musical themes I could follow. What little was said to the audience could have used an interpreter.
