About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

  • Carolla is better than ever

Funny and down to earth. Not a traditional comedian. Pictures and video on screen made the jokes even better.

  • Carolla was Just OK

I wanted to like Adam, my wife and I had seen him in Tempe and an AV problem caused the show to be a total bomb. So, we gave him another chance at The Orpheum. There is no question he had a few funny thoughts, unfortunately his delivery is just not that good. Most writers who go on to be hosts are good at interviewing or interacting with the thoughts of others. Very few of those types of performers are overwelming in a solo setting.

  • Got To Get It On

by GetItOn on 4/25/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time seeing Adam perform live. For die-hard podcast fans some of the stories/other content was familiar, but not in a bad way. There was plenty of new content mixed in. My biggest concern going in was that the 90 min would fly by and I would be left unsatisfied. To my relief I enjoyed every minute of the show and felt I had definitely gotten my money's worth.

  • Carolla Delivers

by RonniBobbi on 4/24/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

Drug my uninitiated wife along with her expectations of only fart and genital jokes...... she admitted she was wrong and enjoyed. As for me..... ready to go again, I love his observations and rants! Only complaint - is he filled/stretched with some video clips from Manshow and cartoon not a big deal but the audio was tough to understand.

The show was great, seats were great and can't beat a price of 40 bucks for an hour and a hour and a half with the Ace Man. Can't wait for him to come back to town!

  • Catching up with Adam

by BigGuyinAZ on 4/24/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

We really enjoyed Adam's 90 minute banter on his life and his sharp witted observations of the world around him. Check him out if you can. Definately entertaining. An opening act would have made a more complete night of it

  • Funny and Inspirational

I'm a longtime Carolla fan, so this is a biased review, but this was well worth the money. If you enjoy the FREE podcast, I would recommend paying a little bit to keep him around. It was even a bit inspirational toward the end, an overall great show.

The only downside of the show was that Alison and Bald Bryan weren't there. Ace delivered!!

Adam was on with his rumor as usual was about topics that we all observe and his opinions were hilarious. Afterwards he signed autographs which is unheard of these days he signed my ticket and even his comment about my weight was funny. Thanks Adam for coming to Phoenix !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Podcast Re-Run

by Anonymous on 4/24/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 2 out of 5

We were fans of Adam's from LoveLine, his radio show, and his podcast. So, we were super excited to see him live. At the start of the show, we knew we might not enjoy the performance as much as we had hoped because the first twenty minutes were Adam telling stories we have heard numerous times on his podcast and possibly on his radio show. We would estimate 80% of the show is a re-hash of Adam's popular stories told live rather than on the podcast. Parts of the remaining 20% that was new material we would describe as funny, but some parts were just average. A quality of Adam's that is often brought to attention by his fellow comedian guests is his ability to speak about a subject on the fly, so we were surprised he spent so much time talking about subjects we had heard repeatedly from him already. We can totally understand Adam's desire to have a set to use throughout his tour; however, similar to other comedians we expect him to have new material if he is going to perform live. Most comedians ditch their sets once they do a tv special, so we hope Adam would put in some time to develop stories and material that we can't already recite on our own by memory.

  • Mandate, Get It On!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the content in Adam's show wasn't just a regurgitation of his daily podcast. His presentation was pleasant and welcoming and his use of a photo slideshow was perfect. He's a great story teller and kept an audience of his fans engaged and entertained.

ACE man got it on! FYI though, it was pretty much the same exact show he did at the Tempe Improv last year.
