by KS on 9/9/25Gas South Theater - DuluthRating: 4 out of 5Jim’s warmup comedian left a lot to be desired. For a 20 yr experienced comedian, Gilbert wasn’t very polished. Add to that a lack of clarity, simply because his voice didn’t work well with the mic. Jim redeemed the show of course. He is one of the most improv oriented comedians out there. Did a fantastic job (as always). New material about his marriage, etc kept it going. My only wish is that his time was only an hour … could’ve got that at the Atlanta Punchline, which was the first time I saw him in person.

Funny but

I feel like he didn’t really want to be there. Overall I really liked his opening act, she was hilarious. I honestly don’t care about his sexual status or who he’s married to and I feel like that’s all he based his whole show on. I also feel like he could have at least put a decent outfit on, the tshirt and jeans he had on looked like he grabbed them out of the dirty clothes. With that being said, get some rest Jim and good luck in the future.
What a true comic is, bring him back to Lexington, KY

His performance at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey did nothing but affirm my beliefs. Jim Norton once again delivered a great performance with excellent jokes and some great one liners. Just when you thought he could not come up with a better joke, he surprises you again and again which is one of the many reasons why his performance was nothing short of terrific. If you have not seen Jim Norton perform live and you are considering it, do so by all means. Not only will you will be laughing from start to finish, you will be very glad you made the decision to see one of stand up comedy's all time greats.
