About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

Laughed our butts off for an hour and a half. Adam was very gracious and stayed and signed autographs and actually spoke like a gentleman to each and every fan. Magical night!!

by DoubleDees on 5/3/11Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Carolla put in an hour and a half performance hilarious throughout. The only complaint is about the venue and the drink prices. 10 bucks for a 20 once beer. You'd need to take out a second mortgage to get a buzz.

  • Adam is one funny mo fo!

    by Saphi843 on 5/3/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

Adam Carolla could be one of the funniest every man, man's man, handy man. Whatever you want to call him, he knows how to make everyone laugh from old to young male, female. I was pleased to see that there were a lot more women at the show than I expected I will have to bring my wife next time. I don't know why he is not more famous than he is. I don't know one T.V. personality that is more creative than Adam Carolla!

  • Adam Corolla

Sorry to say, but my husband and I were both disappointed. We didn't think his material was very funny, and some of his "stereotypical jokes" were in poor taste.

Great show, I would recommend it to all his fans and to non-fans

  • GOT IT ON!!!

    by SReed3 on 5/2/11Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

As a daily listener of the Podcast since September of 2010 (seriously haven't missed one yet), I was laughing until I thought I might pee. Great show! Seemed to truly enjoy being there, which I think other comedy shows often lack. I was very surprised to see it did not sell out, but hey maybe he'll be back!

Having listened to Adam's podcast (free on iTunes) the last two years it was a pleasure to see him perform in person. I'm already looking forward to seeing him again.

Adam was classic Adam! The theater was great, the drink prices were a little steep.

  • Adam Carolla Live

by hoffyfornow on 5/2/11Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Adam was great in person and accomodated everyone by signing items even though most people stayed to get them signed. The show was hilarious and was longer than the regualar comedy live show.

  • Adam Carolla for President

by Cillaazrat on 4/28/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

I loved this show, he was hilarious as usual and the venue was not only comfortable but beautiful itself. Could have done without the burp-blowing, sniffy, twitchy cokehead sitting next to my bff but otherwise an utterly awesome show. Have him back again, I forgot my camera!!!

Venue and seating were great. Lines for drinks were way too long.

  • The Ace-man Cometh!

I'm a huge fan of Adam's so I am completely biased when I say he was awesome and I absolutely would go see him again. The Orpheum is an incredible building and was definitely a worthy venue as well.

Pretty straightforward, no surprises. A little self-referencing at times, but that's not surprising. The one piece of advice I'd give Adam if he asked me, is that when he's going thru "things that piss me off", and the photo comes up of the orange crossing flags in Seattle,.... tell us what we're looking at. It took my date and I halfway thru that bit to figure out what it was we were being shown. We don't live in Seattle, so we don't know what those are. His show ran precisely 90 minutes. I didn't think too much of the clip from LoveLines with David Allen Grier. The sound was murky! It just didn't hold much impact. The end was good. The big message to his Social Security history review was really sharp.... he could have expanded on that if he wanted. I suppose to have been brief about that final message is better than being a blowhard about it.

  • Adam Carolla does a repeat performance

    by The602Girl on 4/25/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

I love Adam Carolla. My husband and I both listened to him on Love Line, we loved when they had his show here in Phoenix, and we now download the pod casts. I think he his hilariously funny and i love to see him live. This is our second time going to see him and unfortunately he pretty much did the same show as he did last time, with a few exceptions. While it was still comical it was a bit disappointing hearing the same stories twice. Especially knowing we paid more for it the second time around. The only thing better about this performance than his last (at the Improv) was that he actually signed autographs and did a meet and greet after the show.

  • I love me some Aceman!

by KiminTempe on 4/25/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

I'm a 47 year old female, more Kathy Griffin's demographic than Adam's - but I listen to Adam's podcast every day and can't get enough of the ranting. He did a great job on Friday, graciously signed all my schwag and even got a little smile out of him from a lame joke. Or the peanut butter cookies I dumped on him. Okay, maybe a little stalker-ish, but I figured he could palm one to take on the plane in case they weren't serving the little peanut bags!

  • Same Show

by Anonymous on 4/25/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 3 out of 5

We saw him the last time he was in town, which was less than a year ago, and most of the show was the same. It was hillarious the first time, definately something to enjoy! But the second time around we were hoping for some thing different and about 50% was exactly the same which was a bummer.

  • Comedic Ranting at its best!

by azmarina on 4/25/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

As an avid Carolla-fan, its hard for me to not give him a good review. Some stories I had heard before, but still just as funny. And some new stuff for old fans like me. Laugh out loud show and a good time overall. What can't Adam complain about?! Loved it.

  • Adam Didn't Disapoint!

    by Legal13 on 4/25/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

A fantastic show. I recently started listening to his podcasts and have his book. This was an awesome show. I love how he does the comedy with the slide show and then some standup with stories. A wonderful time was had by both my husband and myself.

Any fan of The Ace Man will love this show, hands down.
