ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice. His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.
Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009. That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then. The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.
Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.
Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.
Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.
Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.
With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.
A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.
An amazing show! Adam is very entertaining and had me in tears a few time!
Great Show! Would see again. Adam is much better in person.
great show, kept it going, new material, he didn't just push his book.
It's really 2.5 stars. I had high hopes, but was disappointed. The material was pretty stale - he regurgitated his story of how he got into the business which anyone who listens to his radio show has heard ad nauseum.
We left at the break after an hour of uninspired "comedy". We go to a comedy show a month and have never felt compelled to leave. Easy to please and like all varieties of comedy. Wasn't bad, wasn't offensive, wasn't clever, funny or interesting.
Classic Ace man, felt he could have ditched the laser pointer, couldn't see it anyhow and would have loved to have Donnie introduced/spotlighted. Adam was very nice after, didn't feel like he rushed people in the autograph line, seemed glad to interact w fans.
If you're expecting a repeat of his podcast then you'll be disappointed. The show was great - all new material & a world premiere video! You'll see Ace applying his social commentary on various observations he's made in day to day life - nothing is safe!
As entertaining as expected. I had a great time at a nice venue. Wish he would've gone on a little longer!
Adam Carolla put on a great show 2/4/11 at the Uptown Theatre in down Napa (aka: fortifide wine country)!!! For anyone that is a fan of the Man Show, Love Line, Crank Yankers, or his Pod Cast, you must see his live show. Also, for a good laugh buy his book, "In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks".
I'm so glad that the uptown theatre is pulling in great acts such the comedy of Adam Carolla. I listen to his pod cast every morning on my way to work. It was incredible to see him live. This a really cool venue and I love that it's in Napa.
Adam delivered and was as funny as ever. Hysterical ... His tech detail could use some work... But it wasn't a problem. Theatre personnel needs to get a system in place .. It was extremely distracting that they were still seating people 10-15 minutes into Adams act. These were mostly people who were busy drinking in the lobby. Too rude to take their seats before Showtime, which was past 8:00 anyway. Then at intermission it was repeated.. As well as guests falling and spilling drinks in the theatre. Some drunk blonde idiot spilled wine on my husband because she couldn't walk
Buy his book, listen to his podcast, go to his web site. I have been a fan for years and I can tell you his show is some of his best work. You will laugh and think from start to finish.
Kind of lame power point presentation and some produced videos, that other people put together. Love Adam, but don't quit the podcast, this was kinda bad.
I was bored. I always liked Adam, but I'm going to be honest. Showing dumb animated clips, rehashing Manshow stuff, or a video of Bathroom Etiquette that we have all seen on the internet is wrong. I don't know of other comedians that bring dated stuff to a show. If you're asking full price for tickets, bring fresh material. In between the rehash, it's a montage of key rings, graffiti and a review of Adams social security statement. Not exactly witty, funny or entertaining.
Adam Carolla was terrific, really funny, and the seats were great.
Adam inspired me to quite my job and become a rodeo clown!!!
It was more promo for his book...great on I-tunes bad on stand-up
