About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

it's too bad the Schnitz wouldn't let Adam sell & autograph his books there after the show....I think there were a lot of disappointed fans. Luckily, I was able to get to Barnes & Noble for the book signing earlier that afternoon.

  • No choice but to get it on with Adam Carolla!

Always unforgettable, always entertaining, I love Adam and I want more of him! Please have him bring the whole show here...but in the meantime, being able to witness his rants in person is a totally satisfying experience.

  • great show, horrible sound

by 66andy1998 on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

sat in the front rown of the dress circle. Adam was awesome, but the sound was horrible. Maybe because of where we were sitting, and the fact that there were just a few speakers on the stage (or next to it) with just a hanging speaker in the center of the ceiling area (since we were on the side, in the front row of dress circle)...maybe all of that lead to the sound just being blocked. But, ticketmaster picked these as the best available and i'd say that they weren't.

  • Not funny at all, so boring

I barely laughed the entire time. He was not funny at all!

  • Disappointment

by adamlovers on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

We love Adam Carolla! We were so sad when his radio show was cancelled but pleased that he turned to podcasts. We were excited that he was coming to Portland and immediately purchased tickets for our whole family plus sons' girlfriends. I do have to say that we were disappointed. While it was a fairly entertaining evening, it was definitely not the Adam of the podcasts. We think he's much more witty off-the-cuff than he is doing a rehearsed show. We will still listen to his podcasts but won't spend the money to see him live again.

  • Not his A game

by georgiabulldog on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 2 out of 5

He told 2 stories he's covered multiple times on the podcast. If you listen to the podcast regularly like I do, skip the live shows, not worth it. Not a bad show, but very little new material.

  • Adam Carolla, Comedy Genius!

by CleanSanchez on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Adam Carolla is a pro. Funny, insightful, self-deprecating...all of these things were on display during his performance at the Schnitzer. You really don't need to know more than this. If you see Adam live, you'll have a great time. His show is nearly two hours of laugh out-loud funny material. I've listened to Adam on the radio, seen him on TV, and listen to every episode of his podcast and most of the material in his live show is completely new! Great times!

  • ACE puts on a sincere and funny show

by RGPDX on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

We laughed out loud many times, and really enjoyed the expanded take on the stories we've heard parts of before. It was also cool that he did a signing after the show, and I picked up a poster that now has Adam Carolla scrawled across his forehead.

  • Adam and Portland were great!

by Kellen11 on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

First of all the venue was amazing, Adam and his Crew made the show even better, the photos, stories, were great. The only think that sucked was the couple sitting next to me and the horrible ushers with the flashlights. I had high expectations for the show, I dont know why, I am a fan of most of the things Adam does, and the way he presented his material was better than he described when he talks with his guests. Even though I knew most of the stories that he told, I thought it was great to hear them in person and see SH@# that pisses him off. I hope he comes back soon, I will recomend it to more friends and bring my wife next time.

  • Got it on in portland

Great show! He has ideas on what he is going to talk about, but no formal act and the improv is what makes this show fun! thanks for the laughs ace man and hope to see you back in portland soon

  • Funny; entertaining; basically his talk show live

by CatBox on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

I'm a fan of Mr. Carolla's former radio show and subsequent podcast. His live show was definitely funny and entertaining -- no denying that. However, if you're a long-time listener, the stories told on stage are the same you've heard many times already. I didn't know what to expect, but was disappointed that neither Alison nor Bald Bryan were present. Apparently they only attend the live shows in LA and surrounding areas. Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself. Regarding after the show, the line was super long for an autograph. No problem there, but I purposely held off getting his book, planning on buying it and getting it signed at the event. They didn't have any books for sale! Huh?! No biggie, but surprising.

  • GET IT ON!

by mrfluffynuts on 5/16/11Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! My face was sore afterward from laughing for 1.5 hours.

This is the second time I've seen Adam Carolla. The first time was good, but this time was FANTASTIC! He's refined his act and it shows. He's smart, funny and was very entertaining!

Carolla was quick-witted & entertaining which is par for the course when it comes to the Aceman. We really enjoyed the incorporation of pictures/slides on the screen behind him.

  • by WonderWoman12 on 5/4/11Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

Adam was very entertaining. He spoke mainly of personal experiences, which he delivered in a hilarious fashion. I would definitely see him again if he comes back to KC.

Very funny as well as inspirational (didn't go in expecting the latter). Lots of familiar bits from the Podcast but lots of new material too.
