About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

I'm not really a fan of Carolla, but I brought my boyfriend here as a birthday gift. My only real real gripe is that if you listen his podcasts, you basically heard his entire show already. Not much new material. My gripes for the venue is that parking is VERY limited..show up early so you're not hunting in all the residential areas for parking.

Big Carolla fan--I listen to the podcast daily. The material for this show was pretty stale though. As much as I wanted to love it, it was just okay. No rants or "what can't Adam Complain About"--the things he really excels at.

It was Adam Carolla in his element - ranting about things that annoy him. A hilarious show!

  • Carolla is as funny as ever

Never to disappoint, Carolla does what is expected.

  • Great show!

The show was hilarious and totally worth the ticket price. Even my girlfriend who doesn't know the fantastic breadth of work Adam Carolla has done loved it.

I loved this show and can't wait to hear if he'll be touring again soon!

  • ACE man- Get it on!

Adam Carolla is always funny. Never heard him go through his social security statement year by year, and it was both entertaining and inspiring to hear Adam Carolla talk about how he made his dream a reality from humble beginnings. The slideshow adds a new dimension to the rants, which, daily listeners of the podcast will be familiar with. But, live shows is how they make the money to support the daily podcast. Would give a 5-5 if there was more new material or some guests to spice it up.

  • Carolla Rocks!

Very entertaining show. This was my first Carolla show so I wasn't sure what to expect. It is not a traditional standup routine, more of Adam taking us through the pictures of his past(not so glorious) life and giving his opinion on whatever he deems necessary. Overall I thought it was a great show and will go again next time he's in town.

Had a great time. Fiance liked this show better than the one we saw last year.

We are great fans of Adam Carolla. I listen to his podcast when at work and watch the Car Show also. Loved him on DWTS also. The show was great! A lot of topics that I hadn't heard before. Very funny! We all have wackiness in our families but Adam makes his great to listen to. Love the photo slide show also.

  • S.O.S.

by jmpassanisi on 12/19/11Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

I have seen Adam Carolla 3 times over the last 2 or 3 years. He brings his same, every day kind of guy attitude in real life as he does on TV or radio. My only complaint, and its a huge complaint, is that 75% of his show is the same EVERY TIME. I knew way too many of his jokes an bits before they happened. I seriously feel ripped off. My smaller complaint is that he lingers on the same topic for too long. Both gripes come down the fundamental fact that The Ace Man needs to put more effort into performing for his fans.

  • Great show

My husband and his brothers and dad loved this show. They had a great time and would recommend it to a friend. You can't go wrong with Adam Carolla. It was nice that Money and Petros were part of the show also.

  • Carolla mailed it in

by fagenbecker on 12/19/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 2 out of 5

Let me start by saying I am a huge Carolla fan going back many years. Was really looking forward to seeing him live. Ditto for my wife. We both felt he 'mailed it in' - was not all that funny, seemed to somewhat just go thru the motions, and net-net we would have been better off staying at home and listening to one of his podcasts. Was disappointed he did not even mention the "Occupy" movement - especially given all the news of late with Beck et al.

  • Funny on the spot

by rbMDPhD on 12/19/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

Impressed (though somewhat expected, being a regular podcast listener) with Carolla's capacity to be on-the-spot (unrehearsed) funny and entertaining. Carolla presented a nice combination of platforms with which to demonstrate his smart and observant sense of humor. Ended up, not just recommending, but purchasing tickets for my sister and brother-in-law to see Adam in Phoenix, Arizona.

  • Adam Corolla Orpheum Theatre 2011!

by MrPepper on 12/19/11Orpheum Theatre - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great show, he did great. Fun times good Theatre! He could have an opening comedian (to start the show for a few minutes). The lights pointed towards him were directly above him and it made it difficult to see his face / eyes (we were on 1st row - cant immagine people out back).

  • Fun Night

by Anonymous on 12/19/11Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Adam was great! Great stories and laughs all the way through. He came through like a champ just like he does on the podcast everyday. Would definitely recommend going to see his show.

Show was great and the venue were great. Will go again.

  • Adam was great!

by TomusMagnus on 12/18/11Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Adam in person was great. He told some classic stories, as well as mixing in a lot of new material. He did a round of "What can't Adam complain about," too. Definitely glad I decided to go.

  • Go only if you're a BIG fan of Adam Carolla

by Mike789 on 12/18/11Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

It was a decent program, however, it was neither as funny as traditional stand-up comedy nor was it particularly entertaining for people not very familiar with Adam. He shares a bit about his life and his particular views on life. I was a big fan of Carolla about 10 years ago when he was one of the two hosts of the radio show Loveline. Him and Dr. Drew were amazingly witty and usually spot-on accurate with their advice. On his own, Adam is definitely still humorous, however, I don't think the program was funny enough and I don't think I'd go see this type of a performance again.

  • Adam: Better in Napa

by Anonymous on 12/18/11Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

I love Adam, and this is the second show I've seen this year. He made me laugh as always, but was disappointed that a lot of the material was repeated. Also, the venue wouldn't allow drinks inside, which kind of sucked.
