About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

If you listen to Adam's podcast, then you have heard ABSOLUTELY everything in his live show. Dude, come up with some different material for your stand-up routine. Went because my husband is a fan and he was disappointed.

Adam is a natural and even though we all know he doesn't always like to travel to do these things, he is a consummate pro.

Carolla rocks and took an hour or two after the show to sign anything you brought to him. Great guy, hilarious, if you're a fan of him, you'll love it.

  • Aceman was awesome!

Many probably know him from the man show & loveline. But his act is overwhelmingly funny. He told some funny stories about himself and with Jimmy Kimmel. He went through some rants as you would expect him to do like he does on the podcast. He kept us laughing the entire time he was on stage. Bottom line, if you need a good night of laughter go see Adam Carolla! You won't be disappointed.

If you like him from the Man Show, his podcast, his former radio days, etc. you owe it to yourself to see this show. A mix of stand-up and show and tell, Adam doesn't fail to bring the heat. Please come back again soon!

If you like the podcast you love the show. Any entertainer that would take time to sign autographs and take pictures for hours is someone worth seeing.

Went to see Adam Carolla with a friend, who is a huge fan. I was not as familiar with his work, but left a major fan as well. His show was absolutely hilarious. I enjoyed his dry and witty sense of humor, and also how he ended the show on a positive/inspiring (yet still comedic) note. Will definitely try to check out another one of his shows in the future!

  • Adam Carolla

by MrMarbles on 12/27/11Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 2 out of 5

Checked out Adam Carolla's "I hate the holidays" special in SF. Although I really enjoy Adam's podcast and his quick sense of humor, this show was basically a bunch of recycled material from his comedy tour last year as well as old material from the "Man Show" and/or previous podcasts. Adam is a smart & talented guy, so I expected more for $50. Come on Adam, I know you have it in you to do better. You put as much effort in this show as you did in high school. Bottom line: If you've never seen Adam live before and you are a fan, it might be worth checking out. If you've already seen him perform live, save your money and stick to his podcast.....it's cheaper and better.

Adam Carolla is brilliant! At one point I was laughing so hard I was crying!! Love Adam and I always look forward to getting up for work in the morning, since I know I get to listen to his podcast.

  • Carolla was a fun date!

by SeraphsAlaria on 12/21/11City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 4 out of 5

I've never seen Mr. Carolla's shows. My husband listens to his podcast - and the last time I actually heard the guy was on KROQ's Loveline. I wasn't sure what to expect. Some people told me he's a chauvinistic pig. I didn't see that - and I wasn't drunk. If he is, it's in other shows that I've never watched/listened to. Others say he's just honestly funny (as in the truth is funny), especially about himself and some of his views. He uses a screen to show little movies and PowerPoint-like pictures for his routine. I was told that the best comedians poke fun at their own lives, this is one of those cases. Not as much holiday humor as I was expecting, given the title of the show, but quite a bit into his past is humorously stated and I actually felt really bad for the loss of his Grandfather when he mentioned it. I could see the anguish in his face...unless it was gas but I got a pretty good feeling that his Grandfather meant a whole lot more to him than his parents did. Overall it was an enjoyable show with that lovely point he wanted to make - that he didn't start with a lot but managed to make himself well off anyways and then made fun of the idea to end the show with.

  • Great as always

I saw him last april . The new material he did was great, plus once again he signed autographs after the show . Using powerpoint really adds to the show seeing his thoughts come alive is very creative.

  • Carolla needs new material

by Maximln on 12/19/11Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

I love the podcast & listen to everyone so I know most of Adam's stories which is OK but I saw his last show when it came to town about a year ago & there was a lot of the same material. Is that normal for live shows? Carolla is the only comic show I have ever seen so maybe that is common but I would think new shows would have new material.
