About

ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.  His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.

Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009.  That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then.  The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.

Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.

Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.

Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.

Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.

With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.

A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.

  • Same old stuff I've seen before...

I have to preface this by saying I am a HUGE Carolla fan and have been for over 15 years. I saw him at the Aladdin theater last year and it was good, kind of a greatest hits, but pretty good. This show was just bad. I had already heard literally 99% of what he had said at this show, a lot of it from his recent podcasts. Anyone who listens to Adam's podcast will have already heard this stuff and these stories several times. I am very disappointed in Adam. "Be a factory not a warehouse." I just wish that Adam would follow his own advice.

Loved it, not a bad seat in the house. Adam is funny, smart and I'll be back if he comes to town again.

Loved the show - wish he could have talked longer. THANKS ADAM

  • Just Like the Podcast

    by Tegs30 on 3/13/12Newmark Theatre - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

If you listen to the podcast on a regular basis, this will be a rerun. Yeah, it's fun to see Adam in person but we've all heard the stories before. Adam is entertaining and, of course, funny but there just wasn't anything new. Save your money and buy yourself something on Amazon if you want to show your support for Adam.

  • Love me some Aceman!

Great show, I'll see him whenever I can. I love how he talks about what a dump LA is. It's the worlds biggest landfill with great weather.

  • carolla just wasn't funny

i am a big ace fan but this isn't his format, hes good off the cuff but not at standup, definitely wouldn't go see this show again. he did about an hr and a half and 20 mins of this was pre-made videos so about an hour of material, felt quickly thrown together, not good ace, not good!

Great show! Hilarious. Everyone should go see him.

  • Adam really know how to get it on

I've seen Adam Carolla live one other time, and have watched, listened and read his material since he was on Loveline. Every medium he appears on, he delivers, and it was no different at his most-recent show in Portland. He is not a traditional stand-up comedian, but he had my girlfriend laughing the entire night, and she is not a Carolla lover like I am. I will continue to help keep the pirate ship afloat and look forward to the next time he's in town.

Adam Carolla puts on a great show! So funny and conversational. I loved it and it was worth every penny!

Adam Carolla is always awesome live. Hysterical, and honest!

  • Good for a daily radio show - NOT for stand-up!

by TheRealJLynn on 3/12/12Newmark Theatre - PortlandRating: 2 out of 5

I love adam carolla. I think he is very funny. When I paid $50 to see him live I expected a sort of "best of", well-polished show of his best material over the year. Unfortunately, I felt that the show was below the average quality of his radio show. It was definitely not worth the price of admission. Don't get me wrong - he said some funny stuff, but certainly not the "show" i expected.

  • Good Show...so funny when he hates

by NCCS on 1/25/12Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

Adam hates on so many of the things that we all just take for granted. Funny Show and Nice Wrap Up at the end. Listen to his podcast often...very entertaining!

  • Consistently funny

Good show! Not too dirty. Good story teller and included examples of being in NC in his show.

  • Adam Carolla was awesome!

If you've heard his podcast, you already know about his sense of humor. But this show was actually quite different from his podcast, the humor wasn't as dry, and the audience was laughing so hard, there were quite a few tears! I highly recommend going to see him, it's rare to see just a regular guy, not really changed from being famous, stand up and talk to you like you're his friend.

  • Great show for a select group of people

by DisplacedTheaterFan on 1/23/12Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

I would recommend this show to anyone who is a fan of Adam Carolla and/or The Man Show, Crank Yankers, etc. It's particularly exciting that he sticks around after the show to shake hands and sign autographs. Otherwise, I don't think this is a show I would bring someone unfamiliar with his style and unfiltered perspective. Also note that if you're an avid listener to The Adam Carolla Show (podcast) you will be familiar with a good amount of this material. It didn't detract from my enjoyment, but it may for others.

  • Adam Carolla

by ChiefCarlson on 1/22/12Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

About what you'd expect. If you like Adam Carolla, it was very entertaining.

  • Skip it if you listen to the podcast regularly

    by Blueboy7 on 1/22/12Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 2 out of 5

I'm a big fan of Carolla's podcast but his stage show is just a bunch of recycled material from his show and his book. Nothing new. We waited for half an hour after the show and he never came out to sign autographs and take pictures so we left. I think he was just waiting out the crowd before he finally came out. Save your $60.

  • Great show!

Funny show! Highly recommend seeing it. Huge fan of his podcast too.
