ADAM CAROLLA is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and NY Times best-selling author. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, which holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “most downloaded podcast," and was recently a star on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice. His latest book, Not Taco Bell Material, was released in June 2012 from Random House Publishing.
Adam started The Adam Carolla Show podcast with only a computer and a microphone from his home office in February 2009. That year the podcast was named iTunes #1 Podcast of 2009, and it has only grown since then. The podcast receives more than five million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times, and The Los Angeles Times. Adam’s immediate success prompted him to launch an entire online network, ACE Broadcasting in February 2010, which produces many of iTunes' top podcast programming.
Adam became a New York Times best-selling author when his book, In 50 Years We'll All Be Chicks, topped the charts for ten weeks. The audio version went straight to the #1 position on iTunes and remains there today. His new e-book, Rich Man Poor Man, is now available on iTunes.
Before running his online empire, Adam hosted The Adam Carolla Show on CBS radio stations in Los Angeles, Portland and Las Vegas. The four-hour weekday morning program was syndicated in several major markets, including Seattle, Sacramento and Fresno.
Adam has also starred on ABC's hit reality series Dancing with the Stars, hosted Comedy Central's Too Late with Adam Carolla and starred in TLC's The Adam Carolla Project, which chronicled the renovation and subsequent sale of his boyhood home.
Following brief stints as a skilled carpenter and boxing trainer, Adam began his career in radio after answering an ad seeking a boxing instructor to train then radio personality Jimmy Kimmel of KROQ's Kevin and Bean Show in Los Angeles. He eventually joined the show's repertoire as “Mr. Birchum,” a wood shop teacher. Adam’s success on KROQ led to a hosting job on the nationally syndicated radio program Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Adam and Dr. Drew for five seasons (1996-2000). The duo also authored The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love.
With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Adam heads Jackhole Industries, and created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, The Man Show and Crank Yankers.
A native of Southern California, Adam currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Lynette, and their twins.
went with my 18 year old son. we both had fun. blah and yada and blah and yada.
He was funny, but I expected a longer show (it was about an hour long). There were also quite a few dips in the action where it took a long time to lead up to a funny moment.
Adam show was great! Great venue and great material. Adam even got my wife to laugh! I am definitely going to see him again next time he is in town.
Adam did not dissapoint. His rants were hillarious as always. Show was even up to date with a video clip of his Toyota Celeb grand prix win just a week ealier. There were a couple of bits from his last time through and a few from his pod cast. But with Ace, there are still funny even when you know what is coming. He is also the only comedian who could pull off a bit about linesmans dikes.
All new material. Never a dull moment. Adam is still great with a crowd.
Great show! Get it on! Nice mixture of new and some classic stuff.
I've been listening to Adam for 15 years and loved every moment of the event. My boyfriend who really didn't know much about about Adam laughed almost the whole time! Adam was great enough to stay after and sign people's books/DVDs and take pictures.
i think i was able to laugh once, but by all means the worst part of the show was at the end when Adam had to show us all how much money he made in his life, NOT VERY FUNNY! I already know i don't make a lot, thanks for rubbing it in.
Listen to the podcast every day and was a little worried it would just be a re-hash, but the Ace Man delivered with almost all different material.
Adam delivered a strong performance. All kinds of laughs and some great call backs. As a podcast listener - I was familiar with several of his bits. I had heard "Gay Eye" but not seen the animation.
Adam was fantastic. Can't wait for him to come back in 2013.
Not surprisingly Adam Carolla put on a great show. The Fitzgerald Theater was a excellent venue. Comfortable and. Seemed smaller that it is. Afterwards Adam hung out for very quick meet, greet, sign, and pic. Very cool event.
Ace does one heck of a great live show. A combination of familiar stories and new material. The pictures and other AV content he uses during the show fits in smoothly and really adds to the experience.
I was laughing from start to finish. Adam has a very unique humor that feels natural and not scripted. I traveled about 2 hours to see him and it was well worth the travel.
Great seeing the Ace Man in person...however, my husband and I listen to the podcast regularly and almost all of the material from Saturday night was repetitive. He asked Kevin Nealon on the podcast a few days before how much material he could repeat for this show...even if it wasn't from his show last year in MPS, we had heard most of it from before. With a new book coming out soon, more stories from that would have been appreciated! Love that he takes the time to meet and greet everyone at the end of his show.
It was a great show at a great place. Adam put on a solid 90min of hard laughter.
As always, Adam provided a great look into his life as an entertainer, but in a way we all could relate to. In a theater without one empty seat, the crowd laughed and awed their way through a great selection of stories, pictures and videos about Adam's life, friends, and... stuff that makes him angry. After listening to Adam complain for more than 90 minutes, I left the show and went to a Burger King, where I found a condom dispenser in the bathroom. Seriously? For all those late-night hookups happening at BK? This is what he means...
We had a great time, the Aceman always brings the funny. Also, he stayed afterwards and he signed autographs. Don't go if you are easily offended or hate comedy.
Having just seen the Aceman in Chicago back in December, I wasn't expecting a lot of new material. The show seemed a bit mailed-in for certain areas, with Adam constantly saying "alright what's next" to the slide-show, which basically felt like "alright let's get this over with." Pretty funny show overall though, even with rants people probably heard on the podcast. That would be my one complaint, is that you'd think he'd be aware that a lot of people coming out to the shows are probably listeners and don't necessarily need to hear the same rants we get on the show. That said, I always enjoy Adam's musings. I wasn't too thrilled with the seats. There was barely any leg room in front of us, making it impossible to get up without knocking into people around you. Open up the balcony next time. I realize no one wants to clean it, but for $45, I expect a little better experience with the seating.
Well, it was a typical Adam Carolla Show. I believe he is better on the podcast then he is live. He recycled many of the bits he did when he was here last but still managed to get me laughing hard several times.
