    Disappointing

by Mel on 12/15/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

This pricey ticket item lacked pizzaz, sparkle, and spark...this show just fizzled out. Although this is a 1940's look-back, I expected a little updating, especially in the casting. Absolutely zero diversity; oops forgot to mention the two Asian cast members for the Chinese restaurant scene. How stereotypical! I wasted my time and money on this mediocre show, it wasn't fun at all.

    Festive Fun

by LeeD3 on 12/15/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

We brought our teenage daughters to the Sunday matinee. It was so fun! We really needed a special event to get us inthe holiday spirit. This was it! We loved the songs and dances. What an impressive cast! Overall, this was the most festive fun we’ve had this holiday season.

    Awful

by Jojo on 12/15/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

I was very excited for this show, however, my original date and time I picked was cancelled along with 7 other show times. Therefore, everyone who was cancelled on, had to pick a new one so all tickets were sold fast and I ended with the absolute worst seats for the show. We couldn’t hear the stage, couldn’t see the stage and left at intermission. The cast seemed to be great from what I could see/hear but I can’t give that honest review on them because my experience was so awful.

    Delightful

by Pauline on 12/15/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the musical version of one of our favorite Christmas movies. Everything from the cast, music, dancing, and, particularly outstanding, the scenery was wonderful. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, the adorable dogs. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this delightful entertainment to Boston.

    What a great show!

by Mikey on 12/14/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Pure utter joy from beginning to end. I went to the matinee at 2 PM and I loved it so much that I walked out of the theater, right up to the box office, and bought tickets to the evening show. We saw a different Ralphie, but he was just as good. The kids in this show were utterly amazing! And that kid who did the tap dance solo in act 2; STUNNING!! The audience absolutely LOVED this show. DO NOT MISS IT!!!

Excellent Show with a Horrible Audience

by Shelby on 12/14/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

We loved the production of A Christmas Story. Very talented performers and great production quality. However, as a theatre maker myself, I was appalled at the behavior of the audience. They talked for the first ten minutes of the show, many patrons continued to talk full voice throughout the production, numerous audience members were seated well into act one, innumerable audience members were on their phones (recording, sending snapchats, checking email, texting, etc) and ushers did absolutely nothing about it. Additionally the balcony speakers weren’t on so it was difficult to hear especially over that audience. Almost half of the balcony left at intermission which was a testament to their rudeness and not the quality of the show - the show was great. Very disappointed in the viewers.

My favorite movie of all time

by Tina on 12/14/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Pros: The performers were very talented! The props were great and Boch center is Gorgeous. Cons: since this is my favorite movie I think this is my issue others won’t feel the same way. I would have liked to see it more as a play and less like a musical.

    Loved!

by SJ on 12/14/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Funny, great music, love this story! Shame on the Wang for not enforcing masks. Whole rows were taking off their masks (no, not just for a sip of water) both in front of us, behind and to our sides. Very uncomfortable. Board of Health, hope you read this.

    So much fun!

by Michelle on 12/13/21Boch Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Laugh out loud fun. So clever. The music was terrific and the dancing fantastic. This is such a heart warming show. True to the original movie. You will have a whole new love for that major award (leg lamp). Our family loved it. We would see it again every year.

So much fun! Ralphie was perfect!

by Garvtown on 12/23/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

I have to tell you, Tommy Druhan as Ralphie made this show. What a talent! His facial expressions alone stole the show, and this dance moves were amazing. What a great treat for the whole family!

    Saenger NO show 12/22

by Glenn on 12/23/19Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

This was mostly a clean show that you would be able to take the family. I say mostly, because they used a couple of adult jokes due to a lack of creativity of clean humor, and the teacher scene with her leggy dress is not appropriate for students with all of the teacher predators these days. While a live show will never be the same as a movie, I think they missed an opportunity to make the same connection - for example, the lead, Ralphie, neither looked like the movie or acted like the role, though some of the other actors pulled it off. It certainly wasn’t from a lack of effort, but just missed. Some key movie lines which were memorable to me were left out, which was a mistake, like having only one restaurant person in the scene and script. I won’t ruin the additions/liberties taken for anyone still wanting to go, but they did a great job expanding overall. Overall it was just ok. It just seemed to lack the Christmas feel and movie connection it could have had.
