Journey in Concert
As the original legends of arena rock, few bands in existence put on a show quite like Journey. Anchored by singer Arnel Pineda's thrilling vocals and Neal Schon's unstoppable guitars, the band continues to show fans, both old and new, exactly how it's done as they tear through marathon sets of classics like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms." After a short break from their relentless tour schedule, they're primed to blow minds again in 2014, pairing up with Steve Miller Band for select dates that are sure to be the stuff of classic rock legend for years to come.
Journey Background
San Francisco-born Journey is the quintessential arena rock band. Assembled in 1973 from the ashes of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band has since gone through a number of line-up changes — only stalwart guitarist Neal Schon has been with every incarnation. Despite a rotating roster, the band has sold 47 million albums in the US, and is consistently named one of the ten best American rock bands in history. While the '70s and '80s provided them with the most commercial success, their current manifestation with Filipino singer Arnel Pineda has given them truly global breadth.

"Fabulous show by all. Arnel was spot on and owned the lead role. Great show...will attend every chance I get."
"Great show for any age! We went with a group age range 18-43 and had a blast! Who doesn't love Journey!? Really cool show! Lost my voice singing along to every song!"
"This was an amazing two-hour boogie with Journey at their best! Lead guitarist Neal Schon's tenacity on the guitar was incredible!"

TOTO and Journey were fantastic. There was a great selection of songs.
Toto was great, both bands sounded excellent.. The crowd seemed to have a good time!
There was an echo when journey first started playing but other than that it was great.
Both TOTO and Journey were fantastic! I think the entire arena was filled with people our age who knew every word to every song. It was so much fun! Even my husband singing in my ear all night long. The venue was great. We got there right about at doors opening/6:30 so there as a line forming as we parked but once we got into line it started moving right along. There really isn't much handicap parking or accommodations besides the one elevator so be aware if you have some one needing assistance. They may have to walk a bit and stand in line a bit. Go early to get a parking sport but maybe don't get in line until it starts moving. It was ok for us even with two people needing accommodations. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house! We enjoyed our seats in Section 111, row L/handicap row. Drinks were a bit pricy even for a venue. My only gripe was the woman's bathrooms. The entrances and exits are CLEARLY marked but people can't read or chose not to follow rules and that was completely frustrating with long lines already. Eventually I saw employees standing in the exit to move ladies to the actual entrance which was good. I can't believe something like that is even necessary though. Just do the right thing, please! Overall, we had a great time and loved the show. The stage, the sound, the rock and roll were all great!
Toto was great and Journey was great!!! What an awesome night at Norfolk!!! My husband and I loved both r concerts and brought lots of memories. We love it!! A must see!!
We took a group of eight (8) people to a fantastic night of rock and roll. The music was awesome - and it was enhanced by the interaction between the bands and audience. Seeing friends (of 60+ years) enjoying each other and jamming together . . . it doesn't get any better than that. Toto played together - like the best garage band ever. So much fun. So much energy. So much mutual love and respect. SO great. And we were all much more pleasantly surprised with Toto - than we were with Journey. Journey was great . . . just not as cohesive - and they almost seemed to be a collection of talented individuals doing their job - not a team that was celebrating their 50+ years of amazing music.
This is the first concert I have been to at The Scope. I enjoyed it. It would have been nice if the doors opened maybe a half hour earlier, giving people time to get their souvenirs, drinks, etc. then find their seats. As far as the show itself, I am a long-time Journey fan, so, of course, I loved it. Only issue for me is in an indoor setting, the white lights they were using were too bright, causing headaches. It was great to see Toto as I have never seen them live. All I all, I would return to The Scope for other shows.
Awesome time, enjoyed every minute of it! Took me back when everybody was singing the songs with me and the band! Thinking about going again to the Nashville show😊💥❣️
Concert was good. Toto totally killed it. Journey’s music was up so loud it was hard to hear the singers but they put on a good show. Pre show buffet dinner at the Scope was totally worth it
Been a long while since I had been to the scope arena. The staff was great, but we feel they could use more beverage stands. The lines were quite long, but for the most part, it was a great experience!!!
The entire show was Amazing!!! These guys still gettin it!! Toto and Journey gave 110%. Well worth seeing in person!! I would go again!!
The concert was great!! Music was fantastic!! Toto did an excellent job!! Journey was full of energy. Arnel was all over the stage!!! I think access to beverages could be improved. The way it was set up made for huge congestion. Draft beer is good but maybe consider adding cans. Thank you!
Journey put on one hell of a show ! But sound needs improvements because the musical instruments such as the drums, guitar ..... are louder than the singer . But other than that it was a Great show !!!!!!!!
My very first concert ever! So amazing! Now I get why these amazing artists have stood the test of time!! Great show...amazingly talented!!
I really love attending concerts at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum as they are very organized, and the staff are so helpful. The opening act, Toto, was very good as they played all of the old favorites. As for Journey, they came out of the box simply blasting the old favorites. It was a very inspiring show, and the band members are all real showmen. Can't wait for Journey to return to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Journey/ Toto concert was great. The bands were very high energy. The addition of the parlor club was wonderful.
Journey has always been one of my favorite bands! I listened to them growing up and I have listened to them as my daughter was growing up. I was excited when I purchased tickets for us and then was told Steve Perry was no longer the singer. Saddened by this but determined for our girls trip to be a success anyway we got to our seats and waited to see how it goes. Arnel Pineda was *.*.*AMAGING.*.*.* We are new (and old) fans! The show was great!! Loved the energy! We are still talking about the fun we had. Thank you so very much ♥️
Toto came on first. Great concert from them. Great Sound. Great Songs. Journey, not to much. Whomever ran their mixer board, must have been asleep. Very garbled. Unable to hear the lead singer at times. Maybe the set-up change was the problem, but Journey was not that pleasurable. Knew the song, so we know what he was supposed to be singing, but we actually could not hear it. Concert was mostly just a 2 man band. Guiter player and the lead singer. A little bit from the keyboardist, but not much. He looked like he was agraveated most of the time, too. Was not really worth the 7 month wait from the time we got the tickets to the time of the concert.
We were second row! Never seen Journey in concert before! It was fantastic. I love how we had padded seats also. Have been in many VIP section areas with hard seats! Thanks for one of the best experiences we’ve had in a long time !!!
Not enough of Journey's hits. Way too much guitar playing.
