ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Mediocre due to venue

by ScottJ on 9/2/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 3 out of 5

Venue doesn't know what they are doing. Opening 1 hour before show doesn't cut it. Huge lines and missed Molly Hatchet except for 2 last songs. Night Ranger killed it. Sounded great and great set list. Jack Blades was awesome. ZZ Top was good, but needed a couple of songs to get the sound right. Excellent set list. No Frank Beard though. Show gets 4 stars, but venue gets 2. Been to Ironstone many times, but not sure I would go back.

  • ZZ Top still sharp dressed !

by SteelDreems7 on 9/2/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 5 out of 5

The show ZZ Top put on at Ironstone Amphitheatre was absolutely amazing. These guys still rock after 50 years. Night Ranger was a great complement rocking for 45 years. Molly Hatchet I could have lived without but all good concerts have to have an opening act. Great show Ironstone !!!

  • Awful experience at venue

by SonoraGal on 9/2/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 3 out of 5

Ironstone and/or Richter are working with a new security company who does not know how to work with a crowd! Many people missed the entire first band because it took so long to get in to the venue! They either need to figure out how to get people in the gates faster, or open the gates sooner. Taking over an hour and a half to get in after the gates have opened is ridiculous. A security person also moved a barrier to let a bunch of people behind us in, and then closed it again. I won’t be going back unless Ironstone figures this out. Night Ranger was awesome!

  • Awesomeness!

The show was FREAKIN RAD!!!😎 It was such an AWESOME show!!! I couldn’t believe I was there!!!

  • Concert good, entry at venue bad

by Hot & tired on 9/2/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was great, enjoyed all 3 bands and ZZ Top was still great even without Dusty. Getting into the event was awful though, so many people and it took forever to get us all in on a hot day. Ironstone needs to figure out a better way to get people through the gate faster than that. In addition there are no parking designations anywhere, it was difficult for many people to find their vehicles after. A simple marking of rows & sections should be able to be done.

Unfortunately, I got to the show late for the last song of the Molly Hatchet band. The last song was flirting with disaster, great zone. I got to see Night Ranger awesome and ZZ Top. I haven’t seen them since oh my God 1982 at the cow Palace in South San Francisco; But a great show.

  • Long lines to enter

by JJSal on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 3 out of 5

Good overall experience. We missed just about all of Molly Hachet music, except for the last song. The lines to get in extended all the way back to the parking lot and beyond. That should be fixed for any future concert/event.

  • Front row not over run by cheaper seats

by Dave on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 5 out of 5

This has been the only venue, Murphys, where a fence was placed between the front row and stage so people could get in front of the first rows and block the view. We pay alot of money for those seats and other venues allow anyone to stand in front of the front row blocking the view. Good Job. Wish others would follow this strategy.

  • Poorly run venue

by MrH on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 3 out of 5

We were in line about 30 minutes prior to this show at Ironstone Amphitheater, but it took about 75 minutes to get through security and to our seats. We missed all but the last song of the opening act, Molly Hatchet. They were wanding every individual, as well as checking bags, and there was only three lines to get everyone through. I'm sure there were thousands still in line to get in when they started the concert, on-time. Their process just isn't adequate and they should have delayed the start, knowing how many people were still trying to get to their seats. We thought ZZ Top was great.

  • There were issues

by Rich on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 2 out of 5

First off Ironstone opened the gates at 6 with the first band going on at 7. We waited in line for an hour and a half. Completely missed the first band. i had great seats probably 6 or 7 rows from the stage. The chairs were small and uncomfortable (not that big of a deal really). The worst part was the guy two rows in front of us. He stood up and used his cell phone to record the whole concert. So rude!!!So while I paid for great seats, our best view was the big screen. Very frustrating.. Most people that wanted to stand up weno out to the isle. ZZ Top was great. The venue not so much.

  • not so good

by GT on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 3 out of 5

Beautiful venue, but only two roads getting to the venue, crooked as a snake. Very long line to get into the venue until the opened a new line and parking was terrible. It was fine that the attendees were all old, but if you wanted to stand or dance, everyone got mad and told you to sit down. Sound quality was subpar for the first two bands, but when ZZ Top hit the stage, it was game on.

  • ZZ Top, Night Ranger, & Molly Hatchet

by Athleticlady0528 on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 4 out of 5

Molly Hatchet sounded great and put on a lively, energetic show despite the heat at 7:00pm in Murphys. It was hot, and there was no shade for the people who were not within five rows of the stage. They played for a solid 45 minutes with a 15 minute set up for the next band. Night Ranger also put on a great show. They were energetic but a bit hard to understand. The band was having a lot of fun. The microphones could have been managed better. Very fun though! They were the highlight of our night. They played for about an hour and 15 minutes. ZZTop put on a good technical show. The guitar/drum play was amazing. The vocals…. We could not understand/hear Billy as his voice was so soft and quiet. Granted we were one row from the stage so that could have affected us hearing the vocals. Billy and the bassist did some simple, synchronized moves that made the back audience go would…causing Billy and the bassist to laugh together and make comments to each other off mic. The stage was a cool set that provided a lot of visual interest. DO NOT BUY THE BUFFET!! It was NOT all you can eat. We were allowed one serving of each item. Each person received one ticket for either a Michelob ultra or a glass of wine to go with the dinner. Not worth $50 let alone $150 per person! Ironstone Winery is a remote location. It is a nice venue for an outside concert IF it is not too hot. For the right bands and price, we would go back. Parking is easy but exiting the facility was a challenge.

  • Wonderful Night reliving music

by Kevp on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 4 out of 5

Good food. Nice wait under the covered walkway leading up to the entry gate. Easy entry and parking. Exiting had a little wait as several exits converged into one, but overall smooth. Seating was a surprise, lawn chairs. First time at Ironside Amphitheater, so caught us off guard. Used to other venues with fixed seating and partial covering overhead. Large surrounding trees provided help with evening sun and heat. Good sound and quick time periods of changing between bands. Overall, great experience.

  • They still got it!!

The old school nostalgia was epic. Being with old friends made it even better!

  • Great shot w

by Tiffany on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish, it was a rock show. Molly Hatchet wasn’t amazing but they started solid and the rest of the show was fab:

  • Could have been better

by Marye on 9/1/25Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards - MurphysRating: 1 out of 5

I did not like the venue. The wait was one and a half hours to get in. The parking lot was a mess the lighting was horrible. Out houses for bathrooms. Safety issues

  • Was fun. Nice to get out and listen to some music

Loved ZZ Top. They performed as expected. Night Ranger was pretty awesome. Molly Hatchett was unknown to me but fair.

  • Great

by bob on 8/27/25Muckleshoot Casino Events Center - AuburnRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show. I loved seeing Billy Gibbons. They started on time. The sound was great. The only downside were the three women who thought they had to be heard. Laughing and talking while the rest of us wanted to hear ZZ Top. I do find is so sad that older women, such as these were do not yet know how to behave at a show. Maybe AA should also be in their future.
