ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Truly amazing!

An amazing concert. You have to experience ZZ Top live to appreciate their musicianship! The venue was perfect and ZZ Top showcased blues and had a wonderful banter with the audience.

  • ZZ Rocks!

I have seen ZZ the last (3) times they have come to Tucson and I have to say last nights show was the best. Maybe it was because you could go right up front and see them 10 feet away from you. I liked the open seating (General Admission) set up. You can move around, it seem to be a more intimate setting. The only complaint I have is of course they never play long enough. The concert was an hour and a half which is typical but I could have listened to them all night!

It's been a long time since I last saw ZZTOP in concert and although they have gotten a little older, they absolutely still put on a show and still sound the exact same. By far my old-time favorite band.

  • ZZ Top

by Ristopher on 7/27/09Desert Diamond Casino - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing show. The band played great. The only issue was the sound. Since the band does not use amps on stage, people in the front do not get a great mix. The PA system projects the mix behind people toward the front. I could hear the drums loud and clear, but the guitars and vocals were a bit muddy. Billy did work with his sound tech to fix this this. Thanks guys.

  • Victory lap for ZZ Top

    by move2az on 7/27/09Desert Diamond Casino - TucsonRating: 4 out of 5

How the heck old are they? Videos from the mid-80's that played behind them on the big screen gave no clue. Except for more grey, the grey-beards they look essentially the same. They sound the same too. Nothing new, but we didn't want anything new. Just the hits, baby, just the hits!

  • Awesome

  • ZZ Top still kicks it

The last time I saw ZZ Top was in 1981. They added Tuicson to their tour 30 days ago and at $45.00 a ticket it was a great show at a great price. They still rock the house and still appreciate the fans that have been buying their music for 40 years... Great Show.

  • good concert; terrible auditorium

    by bethann123 on 7/25/09Coushatta Casino Resort - KinderRating: 5 out of 5

The music was outstanding; however the auditorium was horrible. The seating arrangement was such that you had to practically sit on the edge of your seat to see the stage. For that kind of money, should have been a better auditorium. The busing back and forth from the casino was very organized and went quickly. No complaints there.

ZZ Top was great! I think it would be great if they would put old moments of their previous concerts on the video screens. The Pavillion at The Coushatta needs a better bar menu and more bars. You can only get beer and the line was forever.

  • ZZ Top was over the top!!

by Luckyladyme on 7/22/09Coushatta Casino Resort - KinderRating: 5 out of 5

This was an old fashioned event, relaxed, comfortable, no rules, no hassles. We had a great time, the best concert experience I've had in several years. They are as great today as they ever were. Thank you for the good time!

  • ZZTop invented COOL!

by ZZsTopFan on 7/22/09Coushatta Casino Resort - KinderRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was smaller than other places we've seen them play which made the concert even better! We drove nearly 1000 miles - yes, 1000 miles to see them play. It was neat to look out over the audience who's average age was probably around 50 and see everyone rockin and havin a good time! I don't care what your age - drinkin beer and rockin with ZZ never gets old!!! Thanks for a great concert, guys!!!

  • ZZ TOP was great as usual

by spaman on 7/21/09Coushatta Casino Resort - KinderRating: 5 out of 5

ZZ Top was great probably the 15th time I've seen them. The last time was at the strand theater ( Shreveport ) around 1997. I played drums in several bands before I got a real job and we always covered ZZ Top. Heard Frank Beard got in a little GOLF while in Kinder. Would recommend all too check um out before they quit one of these days.

ZZ SOUNDED REALLY GREAT!! I WOULD HAVE RATHERED A PLAYLIST WITH THEIR OLDER HITS. MY BIGGEST DIAPPOINTMENT WAS THE VENUE. THE ACOUSTICS WERE HORRIBLE. I'VE HEARD ZZ SINCE THE EARLY "70'S, THEY STILL ROCK

First time seeing them it was awesome. didn't like the crowd standing in front . Had front row seats

  • ZZ rocked the house!!!!!

by Butthead on 7/20/09Coushatta Casino Resort - KinderRating: 5 out of 5

Just as they always do, that Little Ole Band From Texas didn't disappoint with their live set. I have seen them several times and have never been disappointed. In the cozy setting of the Pavillion, they really delivered. Even though you can tell they are aging a bit, they still can hang with the best of them. My only regret was that they only did one encore set. I feel like they would have done one more but the crowd started leaving and then they turned on the lights.

  • ZZ still rocks
