ZZ Top Concert Schedule
ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.
ZZ Top Background
ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.
Incredible show, scratch one from my bucket list. A great show
a pleasure to watch the true master at work see these guys
From the first song the show was just electric, everything I could have hope for I got and more from the band. I have been a fan for 27 years and this was the first show of there I have ever seen. I was not disappointed in any way!!!
The problem with this concert was that the volume was cranked so high that nothing stood out and the vocals were buried under the noise. I will say that when they toned it done a bit, the music was excellent but I still could not understand a work sung or spoken by Bill Gibbons. This made the experience less than enjoyable. I left mid way through their performance (about 10 PM) and yes I know that I missed their hits which were touted to come at the end of the show gut going home and playing “Gimme All Your Lovin’,’’ “Sharp Dressed Man,’’ “Legs,’’ “La Grange,’’ and “Tush’’ on a CD and vidios on the internet with out the hassel of getting my car from the parking garage put a smile on my face after being disappointed by the concert.
I have seen them everytime they have been in WNY since the Afterburner Tour and they are still rockin as always. Could have been longer, but still a great show. Keep up the good work guys.
These guys are incredible.....never miss a chance to the the almighty ZZ TOP
The concert was the best I have been too in ages. ZZ Top was smokin' and as great as they were the last time I saw them; which was too many years ago. The Beacon Theatre looks absolutely beautiful. The GM was very nice too; he took the time to talk to us about the renovations. I will definitely go back to the Beacon for future concerts... the sound was great, there isn't a bad seat in the house and all of the employees were very nice to us.
Have to say been to alot of concerts recently......this by far was one of the great shows you can ever see......excellent venue (Beacon Theatre).....sound was awesome.....as Im watching the show from the 5th row I kept thinking....these guys are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they were discovered and played with Jimmi Hendricks and they sound like they did 40 years ago.....yes 40 years ago......unbelivable
My 13 year old saw ZZTop for the 1st time last night and I hadn't seen them in 30 years since I saw them at the Hollywood Sportatorium! The small venue, the extraordinary talent and the amazing songs were just fantastic.
That little old band from Texas never disappoints their audience. The energy, play set, and stage visuals were super. You can't go wrong at the Beacon. It is better than ever.Billy,Dusty, and Frank can still rock after all these many years. When are they coming back to NYC??
Overall...as usual, ZZ puts on a very good show all the way around. Lights, staging, and above all the music...with some good choreography by Dusty and Billy..lol. The only concern was that for half the show, the balcony area couldn't hear Billy's vocals or his guitar well. As he was talking at some points for a bit, the balcony folks were yelling "turn it up!!!...can't hear you!!!! what!!! We all new what the songs sounded like and the words but couldn't hear Billy. Frank sounded good.(drumset was cool). Dusty always projects well as a singer and the bass was of good volume but the problem was Billy. Finally at some point halfway...he was turned up and all was OK. In the future, the sound guys need to go into the audience at certain areas and listen to the full sound from the band and adjust accordingly...vocals above everything. This time it took a bit too long but thank goodness it was corrected with enough of the show left.
As the band said .... 4 decades .. same 3 guys .. same 3 chords ... I say - if it ain`t broke don`t fix it - A good old rocking loud fun well delivered show - great music at the best venue in NYC
Now this is rock and roll!!! Awesome show, no gimmicks, just good old gritty rock and roll. LOVED IT!
This event exceeded my expectations. This group is as good today as it ever was.
Amazing to believe that ZZ Top has spanned four decades and still gives a high energy preformance. Bringing their personality and talent to a small venue, when they are world renouned, cofirms their committment to appreciate their fans and followers. Rural areas have fans too!. Notority and wealth have not caused them to forget their roots. Very enjoyable show and patrons ranging form barely legal to Social Security age were drawn into onstage interaction With Billy Gibbons, like an old friend.
IT WAS AWESOME!!! It was worth the money. I would do it again in a heartbeat!!
As for the band, ZZ Top was amazing as always. I was only slightly disappointed at the 90 minute duration for the high ticket price. Venue was just okay - flat floor seating probably sucked for folks near the back - I wouldn't know sitting in the 6th row. Nice casino though - I would come back for the right event.
Despite a lazy feeling from the crowd, ZZ Top still rocked mt socks off on Thursday night. Billy Gibbons once again proved to me he is worth the price of a ticket. His solos were crisp and clean. No one plays the blues quite like Billy Gibbons. Deep cuts like "Mexican Blackbird" and "I Need You Tonight" were unexpected and excellent. Most of the crowd acted like they never heard those songs before. I have and I really enjoyed them. The crowd finally got going during the cover of "Foxy Lady" from Jimi Hendrix. The band then rode out their big hits and everyone seemed to be pleased. No alcohal allowed at your seats really "tamed" the crowd for a while. The music of ZZ Top was so good the crowd finally woke up.
Band did a great job, but show was only 1.5 hours long.
i would go see them again, and others there as well, very organized and the employees were very helpful and friendly. very nice attmosphere, but i did think some of the guest were a bunch of stuffed shirts, why pay for a ticket and not enjoy yourself or get your rock on. just my opinion.
