ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • ZZ rocks!!! Beacon....not so much :(

by fxdlgirl on 9/20/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

ZZ.... still got it after all these years !!!! The show was great. For three guys who don't move around on stage too much they sure know how to get the crowd energized. The fantastic sound along with thier funny one liners kept everyone on their feet the whole show. I don't know if the opening act was picked by ZZ or the theatre, but it was painful. The music was great until the singer opened his mouth. The theatre itself... well... small, overcrowded, and overpriced... the usual for NYC. I would recommend ZZ... nothing else.

Great show but a weak crowd. Why pay money for a ticket when you stand there like a zombie and stare

The concert was more than I expected. This was my first time seeing them and I was not totally disappointed. My only disappointment was, when they sang "She Got Legs", the two hot chicks that brought him his hat should have come out and danced on stage with them. The new and improved Beacon Theater was a great venue to see them. The sound system is incredible, you can actually feel the music! If you have never been to The Beacon, and you are a die hard music fan you must make it a point to get there!

  • ZZ Top is always GREAT!

by wisealexis on 9/19/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

The Beacon Theater is THE place to see your favorite band - there isn't a bad seat in the house. As expected the band was right on top and sounded great - even after 40 years! We had the misfortune to be seated behind 2 young adults who didn't know how to behave themselves, but still came away satisfied. The staff at the Beacon are great - they always go out of their way to assist you - happily! Kudos to them

  • ZZ Top was Excellent!

    by Beertrain54 on 9/19/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Besides the classics such as Under Pressure, Cheap Sunglasses, Legs, Tush, they did an awesome version of Jimi Hendrix' Foxy Lady! The boys were in fine spirits and interacted well with the crowd, even bringing two young boys, who were seated up front with their parents, up on the stage for some banter. They played for nearly two hours.

  • ZZ Top Still Rocks

    by ThatGuy422 on 9/19/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

ZZ Top still knows how to bring down a house with all their amazing rock music. If you haven't had a chance to go, you should. ZZ Top is a great rock band and one of the only ones that I've ever seen take an audience request.

I've been going to concerts since the Fillmore east days.I've seen CSN,Joe Cocker w/the grease band,Fleetwood Mac before girls where in the band,Eric Clapton at the Ritz and ZZ TOP st the meadowland area in 1986 (Afterburner and Eliminator).but few of this bands have stood the test of time to come out and play a kick ass show like ZZ TOP.I've seen all of these and more over a 40yr + concert history and the only bands that give it ALL every night are ZZ TOP and TOP PETTY and the Heartbreakers...
