ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

I knew they would be great live, but they outdid themselves. I've seen a lot of concerts in my many years this was one of the best

  • Phenomenal ZZ is the Tops!

by Trizz on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

After about 40 years together, the boys sounded amazing! Great show with the graphics behind them, the women presenting the hat and the classic white, fuzzy guitars at the end. They made their presence known early in the evening with their LOUD, raw sound. Great to see them for the first time, and hopefully not the last.

  • ZZ Top Still Kicks A$$

by martyK on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

Went with some friends to see the boys from Texas. They were absolutely excellent. I've played their tunes in cover bands for years and Billy Gibbons has been a true inspiration to me and many other guitar players. I was struck with such emotion watching these guys perform with such style and coolness. I'm thrilled I had a chance to see them also in such a perfect venue like the Sovereign Performing Arts Center. It was great.

  • zz top tore the place down

by zzmanrw on 9/21/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

zz top was great. Ive been to five shows of theirs and this time they played songs i've never heard them play live. They also played a new blues song that was writin by a former blues artist. The only parts of the evening i didnt like was the 1.opening band 2.leaving the show they need a better way to let people leave besides the escalator 3.You said no camera's, we'll everyone had one and would hold them up in your face to take a picture. The show zz put on was great !

  • They haven't changed

by GABAVADOM on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Nothing like attending a concert where the music is fantastic, the interaction with the crowd is great and the audience is all on the same page with having fun and no drama! Would recommend seeing ZZ Top to everyone!

  • Absolutely Great!!

by Avelino on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

I have been listening to ZZ Top since I was a teenager back in the early 70`s. I love classic rock music and ZZ Top is the definition of Classic Rock. Their music is as great now as it was in the 70`s and 80`s. La Grange, Tush, Give me all your loving, awesome great music. ZZ Top is in the all time Classic Rock Hall of Fame.

  • ZZ Top at The Beacon

by KenSki on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I'll try this one more time Nice show by the bearded ones on Friday. Short ( 90 minutes total ) but solid and worth the $60 for my 1st row lower balcony seat. I thought Billy Gibbons might have been under the weather a bit as his mike seemed to be turned way down and Dusty got a few more vocal turns than I've seen on past tours. Nice to hear them dig into the catalog a bit. They broke out "Brown Sugar" from their 1st album , they also dug up "Mexican Balckbird" ( the large video screen behind the band was put to good use ) and Dusty got a turn to "Party on the Patio" . The rest of the show was typical , the Eliminator 4 pak of "Gimme All Your Lovin' " "Got Me Under Pressue" "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs" was in attendance as well as a nice "Waitin' for the Bus" > "Jesus Just Left Chicago" . Billy brought a couple of kids up from the front row to the stage , shook hands , gave 'em each a pick and asked the boys for a request and the band obliged with "Just Got Paid". The man with no beard Frank Beard made good use of his Texas sized drum kit ( without over doing it ) and I still think Billy should thank his lucky stars that he's got Dusty Hill to lay that Fat Bottom Bass of his so he can splater his Texas Blues licks all around. Catch the guys while they're still out there before they ain't out there to catch no more. Billy also mentioned the ABB and the show he was at for the Beacon run........he told the same joke ........ "I Love the Allman Brothers band because they have just 2 rules. Rule # 1 No drinking during the gospel numbers. Rule #2 , No Gospel Numbers !

  • ZZ good, sound crew not so good

by anniezz on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 2 out of 5

Talented musicians BUT subwoofers and bass equalizers were so loud on bass drums and bass guitar that they drowned out vocals and parts of guitar solos. Band needs better sound crew.

  • Fabulous music and a great show!

by monsterjam2 on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

The performance we saw was absolutely amazing. We knew the music would be good, but it was truly fabulous. They are awesome artists and great showmen. The light show and special effects added a great dimension to their show without detracting from the music and the artists. Awesome, awesome show!!

  • Same Three Guys

    by chuckinator2000 on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Same Three Cords. ZZ Top really knows how to please. All great songs, all well played. They are true professionals, it is obvious from minute the show starts right thru to the last song. No filler. They have always been great and they still are!

  • ZZ Top Not Disapointed at all!

  • ZZ was TOPS!

by firebird1960 on 9/21/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

the venue was GREAT...what a wonderful place to see a show! The staff was great, the sound was marvelous and everything about the experience was right on! A complete contrast to a show I recently attended at trump's taj...a complete hassle! The band gave you everything you wanted including a raise the hair on the back of your neck version of "waitin on the bus/jesus just left chicago" which would have figured was tucked away in the archives never to be heard from again! The set included all of your favorites from the early days right up through the mtv era and present day.

  • ZZ Top was super!

by GGekko on 9/21/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't expecting much after seeing them recently on a PBS special, but was really surprised! After almost four decades these guys still know how to rock the house. Super show and I will be looking for their return to the area (AC) in the future.

  • ZZ Top was fantastic

by ConnieCool on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I went by myself and had the best time. Someone said to me that I was brave...I didn't understand that. ZZ Top had a good time and their fans had a great time. The Beacon Theatre looks great and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The staff was so nice to me, I chatted with two ushers while I was waiting to get in before the doors opened inside. They were so nice and friendly. I've never been to a theatre that let you bring your drinks inside the theatre...need I say more. I am definitely going to go to more concerts there and I can't wait to see ZZ Top again.
