ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • The ZZ Top concert was awesome!!!!!

by Misti3 on 9/21/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

40 years of outstanding performances from the greatest 3 man band! The concert was memorable, they played full throttle for at least an hour and a half. We saw them 20 years ago and they are still fantastic. The video backdrop and lighting were terrific! Great venue to see a band close up and personal. Great mix of southern rock, country and blues....

  • ZZ TOP!!

by blshupp on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was good, but not enough girls like in videos. Crowd was the problem as first 20 rows stood most of show blocking everyone's view of stage.

  • ZZ Top played all the great ones

by jeta on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Fantastic sound for a 3 man band. Short 1 1/2 hour set, but they covered it all, including Jimmy Hendrix's "Foxy Lady".

  • ZZ Top was fantastic

    by Bluejay78 on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I have to say that ZZ TOP put on a great performance. They always play to a full house and give their fans a fantastic show. I also have to say that when they play at the Beacon Theatre in New York City there is not a bad seat in the house. So i have to say Blues Hats Off to ZZ TOP again for a fantastice show. Keep Rockin!!!!!

  • ZZ Top at Reading

by Deguello on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Great concert! Since this was the first time to see ZZ Top (although I've been a fan since the late 70s), I'm still amazed by the bluesy rock and one-of -a- kind sound this three guys can generate. Unlike a lot of alternative and indie bands these days that sound pretty much the same, there is noone that can duplicate this style of rock. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees in 2004, I would definitely tell anyone to catch these guys in concert because (let's be honest) they aren't going to be around forever and you're never going to hear anyone like them again.

  • ZZ was over the TOP

by Yackpack on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

I was introduced to ZZ TOP's Fandango back in 75 when I graduated. I couldn't wear out that record. When I went into the Army in 1979, I got tight with a couple of Mexican dudes also in the Army, from Texas, who were ZZ tried and true. They introduced me to the old stuff, and everything in between, as Billy says. I got out in 1982, and I'm not sure if it was the Eliminator, or Afterburner Tour, I caught in Philadelphia, PA, but it got me hooked. I can recall what the stage shows used to be, but nothing as I've read about with all the animals they used to drag on stage. I remember the Recycler tour was awesome, in Hartford, CT, with the moving sidewalks, the boys getting spit out onto those go-carts, and the girls. You know I have everything that's been put out, and want more. I took all my kids, as their first rock concert, to shows in Hartford, CT, the Allentown Fair, and Reading, PA. I hope they come around again soon.

  • ZZ Top - 1st time

by sushiman618 on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

my 16 year-old son and i saw ZZ Top last night. first time for both of us. the show was awesome! an amazing venue for such a legendary band. almost as if they were playing in my own living room. the band, too, acknowleded the intimacy. they were truly playing "for" us, not "to" us or "at" us. the show was a bit short, however, at about an hour-and-a-half. the upside... my son was home in bed by 11 pm on a school night. if they were playing again tonight, i'd be there.

  • Great show

ZZ Top put on a great show. As always I love the fur guitars. They really work the crowd. I would go see them again!

  • ZZ Top were outstanding

by caspert on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

this is the first time I've seen them live . It was well worth the wait . Next time they perform in the New York City area,I'll definitely be going . I only have one suggestion. Get another opening act,the Tenderhooks were lousy.

  • ZZ TOP on Fire!

by CactusDiablo on 9/21/09Murat Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Have attended over a dozen ZZ TOP performances spanning three decades, but the latest at the Murat Theatre in Indy was the greatest so far. Small venue, and the guys were really on their toes!

  • Great fun - losing their edge but not entertainmen

by JoeIBM on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Seems like Billy just can't play the fast guitar licks anymore, so they just slowed down the tunes. But great entertainers as always, and some really fun moments with the crowd and engaging! Can't wait to see 'em again next year!

  • ZZ TOP put on a great show

    by gnp12 on 9/21/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

ZZ TOP put on a great show. You listen to these guys and can't believe it's only three guys. They played all of their classic hits. The Beacon is also a great place to watch them because there is not a bad seat in the house. I brought my son (an aspiring guitar player) with me and he loveved the concert as well.

  • Loved the atmosphere!

  • zz top... would have been a 5 star event but....

by jd1976 on 9/21/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Zz top really would have been a great concert, but COULD YOU SHOW up on time or at least a half hour late would still have been acceptable. 2 HOURS LATE!!!!!!:( Not ok, when you find a great place close to the stage, you are in heels, and people smell like stale beer and Reefer, The wait was horrible! The had a opening act which was not on the tickets, they pretty much sucked, and so by the time these legends hit the stage, the audience was cranky, starting fights and downright grumpy. We left early because 3and a half hours of standing and getting bumped was enough...:( I was sad to leave, but couldn't handle another minute!

  • ZZ Top Rocked!

by Flowerlady on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

Terrific show in a very intimate setting. I consider it a priviledge to have seen them at this venue. It was absolutely fabulous!
