ZZ Top Concert Schedule

ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.

ZZ Top Background

ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • ZZ Top Rocked!

by JAL43 on 9/24/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was in a theather which made the event even better! The noise level and energy was second to none. ZZ Top has always been one of my favorite groups but we had never seen them live. Let me tell you, if they come back in the are we will be there!!! They sounded exactly like the CDs... At one point the played Jimi Hendrix, Foxy Lady and it sounded better than Hendrix himself...... No kidding! The light board video screen played the videos with the Eliminator Car .... Spectacular!!!! I can not express how good this show was!!!!!!! ZZ TOP: If you have the chance to see them live do it....

I thought that this was a great concert! It was the 60th that I've attended. I would tell anyone who gets a chance to see ZZ Top to jump on it.

  • Security was too uptight

by dicklexic on 9/24/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Loved those Texas boys who can rock better than the Stones. Just wish security would lighten up and see a true fan as having a good time rather than interpreting goofy behavior as a threat to the band. I mean PLEEEAAAAASE.

This was my 4 time seeing ZZ top and I would go again in a heart beat. I really enjoy their shows this especially since it was soo close to home. They may be celebrating their 40 years together but you would never know it by their performance on sunday night at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center.

  • ZZ Top was unbelievable !!!!!

by ulacruiser on 9/23/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

What a show !!! ZZ was great.. The crowd was really loving every minute. I was singing and cheering and having a ball. I am a ZZ Top fan from way back..They still have what it takes. The House of Blues was a great venue for the little ole band from Texas. They played for 1 hr. and 45 minutes and gave us one of their best shows,

It was a good show, Way too short!!! Enjoyed the music and the crowd was into the music! Would have enjoyed a longer show for the $. Music was strong, but the sound for their voices wasn't the best.

  • 4 Decades andf still kickin' ass

by Diceman on 9/23/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

It was so good to see 3 dudes that have never lost their way, or their style still kickin' ass on stage. The crowd was pleased, as was I. The choice of tunes was great, and the sound was very good. Overall, I would recommend ZZ Top to anyone who likes blues, hits, and style

  • ZZ still smokin'

    by Shredder2 on 9/23/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great! They still have it and people were dancing in the isles. I took my wife, who was not a big fan before the concert and by the time it was over, she was up and singing with everyone else. When they came out for their oncore and played all their most famous music, it was like listening to one of their best of albums.

  • They don't make 'em like this no mo'

by Puckeye on 9/23/09Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Perhaps one of the best concerts I've ever experienced. Although this was basically a fine-tuned version of their "Live in Texas" cd from 2008, it was great to see it in person. I never saw Hendrix, but I think he would have been in awe at their version of "Foxey Lady." I certainly was, and would love to get an audio copy of it. "Just Got Paid" was superb, but would have rather heard Frank drum the old "James Gang" style at the end of the song as he did in the studio. Would have loved to have heard "My Head's in Mississippi" but everything they played was great. Glad they didn't play "Rough Guy." No offense, guys, but we're here to rock, not cuddle. Overall, these guys shouldn't be backing up Aerosmith. They can stand on their own. If anything, Aerosmith should be backing them up. And I like Aerosmith. I'm 56 and I'm old. I don't go to concerts to see guys who throw up flashy distractions (other than mandatory wardrobe technician changes, which we could probably use more) because they can't play live what they do in the studio. These guys don't do that. Duane Allman didn't do that either. Their music trumps everything that their special effects complement. Thanks, Tres Hombres, for making the trip east and sharing your talents with us.

That L'l Ol' Band From Texas never fails to please but this time was exceptional because of the smaller venue.

excellent venue. I like the fact that there are no seats in front of the stage so you can see the band up-close, ZZ Top had great performance .. this is th e third time I have seen them . I wish tehy played Blue Jeans Blues

  • Old men can still rock

  • ZZ Top was one Amazing Show

by Fairies1 on 9/22/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

The music could have been turned down a little since it was in such a small place so that you could have heard the words to the songs a little better. Other than that the concert was great.

  • ZZ Top rocks!!!

by 22334455 on 9/21/09Sovereign Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Terrific, as always...these guys can really play dirty rock!!! The concert was a bit short...only 1 hour and 15 minutes...but the songs were exactly what I wanted to hear. The Rajah (Sovereign Center for the Performing Arts) is a classic old theater...the sound was a bit mushy, but, heh, it was ZZ Top...and I was in the 6th row!!!!
